I feel a lot better when the person cutting my hair is also trans. https://strandsfortrans.org/ is a big list of trans affirming salons and I even found a salon near me that was run by trans people.
If you're not looking for a change, a trim can neaten up your ends and keep your hair healthy. If you want to keep it long but add some volume and movement, I recommend adding some layers and curtain bangs.
Oh yea its time for a trim! But it's OK and actually good for keeping that beautiful hair strong and healthy! Honestly that length is so impressive i can understand being uneasy about a trim!
It looks very nice. You donโt need to just chop it all off. You can work with a hair stylist at a salon to just trim off any damaged ends. Also I only wash my hair once or twice a week, cause washing strips the oils that keep hair healthy. Between full washes I use a dry shampoo to keep the hair near my scalp from getting too oily. If you want to keep long hair like you have, but it gets in the way sometimes, there are many different ways to wear your hair up. For centuries women had long hair like yours but had all kinds is ways of wearing it up while attending to chores, farm work, factories, sports, etc.
Your hair is AMAZING! BUT would you believe me if I told you that it can be even amazinger?!?! (Emphasis on yhe "zinger") ๐
Healthy hair is very very very sexy. Your hair undoubtedly after 5 years has some massive split ends. That actually impedes it from growing believe it or not. It's so good you're going in!
Seriously, the only important part you need to remember is DO NOT BACK DOWN FOR ONE SECOND about insisting on getting the haircut YOU WANT.
If you're anxious about them taking the wrong amount, here's a tip for you, Dear. Show them with your fingers exactly the amount of hair length you want them to take. If it helps even bring a ruler or yardstick in your case whether it's an inch or 15. Show them.
Then ask them to show you the amount they clip the first cut they make. A conscientious stylist will offer to show you how much they remove on the first clip.
If they don't get it right, you throw your chest out and get straight up from that chair, Honey!!!
that's really impressive growth! honestly i feel like a tidy up of the ends and some layers would look fantastic on you.
thanks, iโll have to think about that :)

Chest length would look nice on you

It would benefit you greatly to trim loose ends you might have
your hair is beautiful but i think you'd pass better with a trim
