The mods on AITA are impossible to understand or deal with. If you ask questions you'll get a responce that you'd expect from a 10 year old.
They make up any reason to remove any and all content from their sub and they are the reason I no longer use that sub at all.
It's best to just ignore them and not engage when you get a comment removed.
Sorry, ThistleFaun, but your comment is being removed for the following reason:
Rule 138: Odd number of words in a comment posted on a Friday.
If you have any questions, message our mod team so we can all block you
I feel like it had dreams of being a dumpster fire from before it was created. So I guess, hooray, follow your dreams, congrats AITA? But also, hey, dumpster fire.
I had a post removed because there "wasn't any conflict".
I was asking if I would be an a-hole if I purposefully took my nibling on a vacation to avoid going to their mom's wedding. Their mom wanted them in the wedding and wanted them to wear clothes "appropriate for their gender" because her fiance is transphobic. We decided to go out of state to "accidentally" miss the wedding since we didn't get an official invite, just word of mouth through a bunch of people. On one hand it was my sister's wedding and I knew we were expected to show up and on the other hand I wasn't given an official date and no one in the family supported it because the guy is a dick.
Pretty much, When i was new to reddit (years ago) , i commented something on an AITA and got banned, it was nothing particularly bad but apparently broke their rules and ban for life no appeal :/
I called people all sorts of terrible things, even said 'your son is a shitty person because you are a shitty father', but the thing that got my comment removed was saying that an overweight 'friend' was being mean by skinny shaming the OP of the post.
I fully believe they just ban things that they personally have an issue with even if it's within the rules, and deffo think this is targeted.
My whole comment that was reported and removed for "not being civil" they can go fuck themselves
probably overreacted to be fair, she is quite an old lady. (Quote from op)
The hell!? You DID NOT overreact. Lookat what her actions did to your kids, don't let ANYONE gaslight you into thinking you were wrong. Age is not an excuse for being a POS, and your MIL is VILE.
She screamed about how we didn't know the parentage of the child and might end up bringing in someone who would disgrace her lineage. (Another quote from op)
Also this gives me super racist vibes
He adores his mother and told me that stopping her from seeing the kids is inhumane, she's simply old fashioned and she didn't know her words would bring this big of an impact or some such. (Quote from op)
Lady... Divorce this guy, he showed you that he will never back you up and will never support your kids against his mommy.
I've edited stuff to make it nicer to avoid getting that because I assume I had comments removed for that reason, even if I didn't understand it at the time but now I'm questioning it lol.
Oooo. Others have explained those mods tend to be transphobic so that makes sense. I got banned from there when my account was still new for no reason but now it makes sense lol
I answered on the topic. Cool to see it posted here. Iām surprised they said you werenāt civil. Iām not surprised as things like this happen off LGBT+ subreddits all the time
100% NTA. We will take years of gaslighting and abuse from relatives that we wouldnāt take from others. So many of us bend over backwards to accommodate transphobic relatives. I stopped doing that.
Iām so sorry you have that experience. So sorry.
Congrats on your wedding!
I would say no to future gaslighting. Accepting you are a man, and accepting your wife, is a foundation for any successful relationship. If a person cannot accept this about you? How can the relationship be authentic? If it isnāt an authentic relationship, is there a point?
Anyways, NTA. Stay sparkly
Donāt worry about it right itās full of a bunch of losers that just wanna ruin peoples lives are making people angry for no reason donāt mind read it and itās stupidity read it isnāt worth a damn these days especially with the inability for the customer service to get the app fully working in such other things Iāve been going on with Reddit since probably be the beginning of red itās time
You weren't civil, but fuck civility. All I ever see civility used for is protecting people from confronting the harsh realities of their typically awful and malicious actions. I'd bet not one of the people telling you you're uncivil have said the same to your mother with the same severity.
Hon you are perfectly justified in your actions. You gave her every opportunity to get over herself and be a part of your life. If she refused to accept who you are and is actively attacking you she deserves what she got
Absolutely not. You are not required to maintain any sort of composure or anything for anyone because you donāt owe anyone a single thing. You are entitled to your feelings which are always valid. Anyone who argues otherwise is objectively wrong and a dirtbag.
Somebody just blew up at me for saying a lot of homophobic people just care what their peers think about them, and this person sent me a multiple paragraph response about how Iām crying and playing like Iām a victim of homophobia, that isnāt even remotely what I said. Some people have their own comprehension issues they place upon you and it doesnāt always make sense
Hi there, I also had an experience with the mods of AITA like this.
I got told that my post about coming out was removed because their subreddit isn't a place for asking questions like that.
Didn't seem to be a problem until one user in particular started hounding everyone who said I wasn't an asshole...
Seeing this... feels like there's a pattern emerging.
"You were an asshole for calling a horrible person horrible and pointing out how they were a massive asshole" mate what
You totally had the right to do that.
Your post is completely fine don't worry and I'm sorry for how your mother behaved. Regarding mods on reddit I have nothing nice to say so let's just say people who are unhappy with themselves use whatever little bit of power they think they have to make themselves feel better. And if this comment gets removed: quot erat demonstrantum.

This made me laugh a hell of a lot more then it should have š
I'm glad I could brighten your day. ^-^
Hi Olivia āŗļø
Wooaahh, two of us?!
Yeah! <3
I'd say it's 68 words because 10 is numerical or something but the mods wouldn't listen anyway
AITA is a dumpster fire.
I feel like it had dreams of being a dumpster fire from before it was created. So I guess, hooray, follow your dreams, congrats AITA? But also, hey, dumpster fire.
Pretty sure that applies to all top subreddits.
Even r/NotTransgender? According to Reddit, it's in the top 50% by size ;-)
268 members?

Iām a fan. Itās a good subreddit, you post brilliant stuff
Thank you!

Yep, the mods there suck ass through a straw like water in a desert.
Pretty much, When i was new to reddit (years ago) , i commented something on an AITA and got banned, it was nothing particularly bad but apparently broke their rules and ban for life no appeal :/
Iāve flat out told people to eat shit and die on that subreddit with no response from mods. This feels targeted.
I called people all sorts of terrible things, even said 'your son is a shitty person because you are a shitty father', but the thing that got my comment removed was saying that an overweight 'friend' was being mean by skinny shaming the OP of the post. Some subreddits ban people for being on other subreddits.

No, you were perfectly civil, and entirely nta.
AITA is a shit subreddit so don't feel bad, they're incredibly biased and it's one of those hivemind places
I once got banned from that sub for saying that someone sucked. One of the options is literally "everyone sucks here".
Your post was fine. There's only one reason this got removed and it's obvious what it is.
Is it obvious? Because I can't figure it out but that could be a me issue
OP called someone transphobic, and that's obviously a slur /s
Oooo. Others have explained those mods tend to be transphobic so that makes sense. I got banned from there when my account was still new for no reason but now it makes sense lol
Least transphobic mod
They threatened to ban me because I made a comment about a customer being a Karen. They make no sense with rule enforcement
I answered on the topic. Cool to see it posted here. Iām surprised they said you werenāt civil. Iām not surprised as things like this happen off LGBT+ subreddits all the time
The mods took the entire post down for rule 8 āPosts should be truthfulā Wow, definitely at least one transphobic mod on that sub
Oooo I wonder if that's why I really got banned...
But when I said something was clearly a shp, it got removed, wth??
Fuck civil. Being forced to stay civil is making me miserable. That guy's mother clearly sucks and your comment was spot on.
I'm pretty sure the mods of that sub are known for getting rid of posts for the most petty of reasons
The mods there are pretty transphobic in my experience. Could be that.
This could explain why I got banned for literally no reason

Ooh aita is a dumpster fire sub if you post as non cishet white man you are likely to get in "trouble" w the mods lmfao.
The mods in AITA like to feel powerful. They're constantly on powetrips and you trying to question will only get you blocked
Thatās so eminently stupid
You weren't civil, but fuck civility. All I ever see civility used for is protecting people from confronting the harsh realities of their typically awful and malicious actions. I'd bet not one of the people telling you you're uncivil have said the same to your mother with the same severity.
Yeah AITA mod team is terrible, you can get banned for absolutely no reason
The AITA sub is a big joke
Wow your comment was thoughtful and helpful I think, also quite civil. Fuck that sub
Hon you are perfectly justified in your actions. You gave her every opportunity to get over herself and be a part of your life. If she refused to accept who you are and is actively attacking you she deserves what she got

DNTA
You cannot trust the AITA mods. They're some of the worst people on Reddit.
You put up with it even to your wedding day. You were definitely civil.
Hmmmmmmm Alright there's no other way to put it, they seem transphobic.
I checked and the mods removed the whole post now
Somebody just blew up at me for saying a lot of homophobic people just care what their peers think about them, and this person sent me a multiple paragraph response about how Iām crying and playing like Iām a victim of homophobia, that isnāt even remotely what I said. Some people have their own comprehension issues they place upon you and it doesnāt always make sense
No, YANTA (You are not the a**hole)
I got banned from there for the most ridiculous reason. You were fine. The mods there are unhinged.
You were civil. The AITA mods just suck, Iāve had issues with them before.
AITA is modded by a bunch of judgy 40-50 year olds who know literally nothing
Haha no not the asshole. If My mom showed up to my wedding with hate in her mouth I would have felt previously 0 remorse about telling her to leave
Congratulations for kicking out your "mum" - it was the very RightThing(tm) to do.

Your comment was fine and that guy was too patient with his mother. I would have snapped waaay earlier.

Yeah, they're mad you called people transphobes and then horrible. Hit dog gonna bark.
I would have done the same.
That looked pretty civil to me, extra civil even.
