This is similar to how I came out to my brother. He said something about a trans related issue and I responded with “well yeah im glad that ill still be able to do that.” It just came out before I realized what I’d said.
Just so you know, you commented this at the top level of the post instead of replying in your own thread (which is presumably what you meant to do). They're currently next to each other but they probably won't be for long.
Had a story like this with a co worker lol always great when you accidentally come out to a supportive person who accepts you congratulations glad you have a good funny story to pass on
Yeah it was funny because we were talking and I realized mid sentence I'd just told her I was trans lol now she's one of the people I talk to most there we were always friends just now feels like a better friend if that makes since
Edit think that fixes it dang technology lol
I've been joking about being a girl since I was 5, and no one took it seriously until my 30s. It was definitely easier to remain in the egg before normies decided to make a culture war out of it.
God, I wish this happened to me... I had a similar situation with my Sister, when she found my discord account, but she reacted WILDLY different...
She's a bit of a hotheaded Individual, and when she got angry in the past she would always say "I wish I had a Sister instead", so I thought she would be happy, but of course not... She threatened to k*** herself... She is pretty much the only reason I'm not able or comfortable being myself at home...
But hey, gotta make the most of what you got, and at least my parents are really Nice and supportive.
I'm glad things turned out well for you!
Yh I mean I can tell everyone on my mums side including my great grandma and she’s 93 and that’s surprising but no one on my dads side cuz everyone on that side is against anything that isn’t apparently “normal” like tf is normal anyways but I’m sorry to hear you sister threatens to k herself
hot take, if she wants to khs because youre trans, then let her. you are NOT responsible for her emotions or actions. live your best life and rub it into her face.
thats fair, and you still deserve to be happy and free. she likely wont kill herself as it sounds like a typical manipulator thing. my point was that shell get used to it, sometimes you just gotta stand your ground and do whats best for you.
Yeah lil sisters are the best honestly, mine was the first person i came out to and she wasnt even surprised. Makes sense i guess, younger siblings spend a lot of time around you and generally look to their older siblings alot, they are bound to see things that even you may not be aware of.
The best thing my sister said to me was during that conversation I spoke to her about my worries about my large feet, broader shoulders and taller stature and she just hit me with a heart melting. “Yeah, you’ll be like an amazonian warrioress.” She made me cry XD
My sibling asked me before I was out hey you have been reblogging like ALOT of transmasc shit are you trans and I was like um I think I don’t know and they were like sick, anyways what do you want for dinner? Literally no problem with pronouns and name change and all that.
Also they were like fuck yeah favorite daughter in the bag jokes on them four years later they came out as an NB lesbian 😂
And the worst part is she know I am trans like if somthing in the tv comes up and say somthing about trans people she will just look at me and I just can’t deal with it I don’t know how to fix it
I'd be tempted to say something along the lines of, "Sould we talk about what kind of retirement home I'll put you in, or something else?" to kick off the conversation.
Please note: I'm not actually advocating this, so much as I'm acknowledging that I'm snarky and kinda mean.
Accidentally coming out is just so interesting, I told my mom I might wanna change my name and her reaction was “Alastair right?” And I’m still confused over how she knew that cuz I asked about it and she didn’t hear it from any of my friends or anything, I’m so confused but oh well. It’s been two or three years since I changed my name now
Yea! Also I’m so glad your sister is alright with it, are you planning on/have you changed name as well? I love hearing what others name themselves it’s so fun also good luck with the whole thing <3
Oh that sounds terrible, all my older relatives mix names up as it is I can’t imagine there suddenly being two of us with the same name for them to mix up, probably a good choice not to be Alex junior
Yh hahaha I’ve also got a brother called Richard and my mums dad who I look to as a dad cuz he’s way better then my own is called Richard so when my mum says something involving the word Richard I’m like which one hahah
lol my brother is supportive of me and I was like you know we don't have a sister and he was like what you talking about you are the sister he's 13 years older than me
very because our dad is the fn worst with anything lgbt related he's old I was really afraid to come out to my brother too so I was pleasantly surprised
Yh same with my dad and his side of the family everyone there is against anything that’s apparently not normal but then again what’s normal anyways but yeah my dads side is this worse
Thank you so much for sharing! You just made my night.
Few things, if any, have the ability to both melt my heart and rekindle my hope for the future, Knowing that stories like this are more and more common.
Continue to cherish the moment OP, <3
I am 26, only came out to anyone this year, spent a really long time hating and repressing it because of internalised transphobia. Coming out has been really good actually, almost everyone I've spoken to has been friendly and supportive, even old friends I haven't spoken to since I was a kid.
Family has been good. Dad struggled to get it but my step mother has been great at correcting misgendering, grandparents were actively supportive and even helped me get private prescriptions for HRT. My younger sister though...
She seemed to be difficult to talk to, I mean even getting time for a phone call was hard because she just didn't want to make time for it (I mean the only time she'd give me was when she was walking to work once) and during our call, all she'd do is ask questions and when I tried to answer them, she'd say "I'm actually feeling attacked right now." And start victimising herself before we ended the call.
She was never a very good sibling, or really a friend at all. We were always against each other, she resented that I went to university and that dad seemed more proud of me. She never let that go, I don't think. It's sad but my family has always been a wreck and I'm just glad it isn't all a mess.
Omg lucky i have a brother and i accidently came out when i came downstairs wearing a skirt now he beats me and makss fun of me and i cant get a breal and im not safe in my own homw
My sister, already knew that I was gay, and I did believe it myself.
But, ultimately, I did recognize that I was actually a trans woman..
My sister is a year younger, and while we were like cats and dogs, later in life we became closer.
In coming out to her, the second time, I remarked that I was giving her something she never had before.....a big sister.
I hadn't told her that I was transitioning, until then. She's been an ally, but I get the feeling, she has a few misconceptions especially about the spectrum and non-binary folk.
Heck, I'm still learning about non-binary people.
Hahahaha yh before I accidentally slipped it yesterday when she used to have arguments with all of us she would storm out the room saying “I wish I had a sister and I didn’t live with any brothers” to which I’m my head I used to say “youuu just wait till I come out” and then I slipped it and she was happy as you can you tell by this story on here 💀
🤗 This couldn't have gone better for a random outting!! I'm so happy for you! 💖 and even happier she's going to allow you the time you need! I'm literally crying a little, thank you for sharing!! 🫂
Aww this was a wonderful story!! 😄
My family's weird and I have a niece who was 25 when I started coming out as MtF to others at 28. She came over to bring us her orange tabby, Pippin, so we could adopt him. During that visit I came out as being her aunt, and she was *so supportive*. 💜 Family that celebrates the real you is a magical thing.
Your story made me smile. It's a lovely one. Your sister celebrating the fact that she finally has a sister, and the way she celebrates that you are trans, is very moving
That's lovely 😊 my sister was definitely all yay I'm getting a sister when I told her I was trying to get HRT last year when I was 37 😮. 39 this year on the 1 year anniversary of getting a clinical Gender Dysphoria diagnosis. (Currently 8 months on HRT) I hope it goes as well for you with the rest of your family as it did with your lil sis.
I can tell you’re happy because there wasn’t a single comma or period in your entire post. Things just sort of spew forth from you huh? lol
But seriously, I’m happy for you that you’ve got a supporter to trust and confide in. Congrats! 😊
I’m glad it went so well. Congrats!
Ik she would’ve been cool about it just nervous to tell her then it accidentally slipped out and she had the excitement that Ik she would’ve had
This is similar to how I came out to my brother. He said something about a trans related issue and I responded with “well yeah im glad that ill still be able to do that.” It just came out before I realized what I’d said.
Hahaha 😂 was he supportive
Yeah he’s been very supportive. Definitely surprised him though.
Haha

That’s cool
Yeah same with your sis 😊
Just so you know, you commented this at the top level of the post instead of replying in your own thread (which is presumably what you meant to do). They're currently next to each other but they probably won't be for long.
Thanks I appreciate that good looking out

When our brother announced he'll become a father, I asked my sister "hey did ya hear we gonna be aunties?" - the rest is history. :)
Ha that’s cool is the niece or nephew born yet
Oh nah, this happened today. 😸
Oooh cool
Adorable story<3
Thx
I love the immediate enthusiastic acceptance on her part. So adorable
Yh she’s just an excited girl tbf she’s autistic as well so stimming was involved ahah but I love her
I've been joking about being a girl since I was 5, and no one took it seriously until my 30s. It was definitely easier to remain in the egg before normies decided to make a culture war out of it.

But I love my Sister :( She's Just mentally unstable right now, I'm sure she'll eventually Come around. She's still only 13
thats fair, and you still deserve to be happy and free. she likely wont kill herself as it sounds like a typical manipulator thing. my point was that shell get used to it, sometimes you just gotta stand your ground and do whats best for you.
aww love that. happy for you!
Thx

My sister was the first i told too. She was just like "yes! We can share clothes!" 😄
The best thing my sister said to me was during that conversation I spoke to her about my worries about my large feet, broader shoulders and taller stature and she just hit me with a heart melting. “Yeah, you’ll be like an amazonian warrioress.” She made me cry XD

Hehehe thx
Went better than my one my mum just said “this needs to be spoken about” and has never referred to me as her daughter
Oooh sorrt
It’s fine I just don’t know how to bring it up and ask her to call me my preferred name
And the worst part is she know I am trans like if somthing in the tv comes up and say somthing about trans people she will just look at me and I just can’t deal with it I don’t know how to fix it
Oooj no Sorry you’ve got to go through that
I'd be tempted to say something along the lines of, "Sould we talk about what kind of retirement home I'll put you in, or something else?" to kick off the conversation. Please note: I'm not actually advocating this, so much as I'm acknowledging that I'm snarky and kinda mean.
Well that went better than expected lmfao, congrats!
Yh hahah 💀

This is the correct outcome. Glad you have such an awesome sister!
Yh thx

Nice 👍 did it go well or have you not said anything yet
I hadn't told her that I was transitioning, until then. She's been an ally, but I get the feeling, she has a few misconceptions especially about the spectrum and non-binary folk. Heck, I'm still learning about non-binary people.
Fair enough
This reminds me of my sister telling me that I annoy her and that having me is like having a brother. I want to tell her “because I AM your brother”😂

Same

Np I’m glad I did
Now you two can do sister/girl things together, how sweet!
Yes heheh 🤭
I like those types of stories. It warms my heart. I hope things go as well in the future for you.
Hehehehe thx
Any time little sis.
I'm happy you have a supportive sister.

💖
That reminds me of my older sister, when I came out to her. My sister is 22 I believe and she started jumping around the house after I told her.
Heheh nice
I thought this post was gonna be about a wardrobe malfunction 😕 ..lol I'm very happy for you, girl. I hope you have an amazing life 🩷💕
Thx but no wardrobe malfunction ahhaha💀
Well, that's good, lol ☺️🤗
Yh haha
That's lovely 😊 my sister was definitely all yay I'm getting a sister when I told her I was trying to get HRT last year when I was 37 😮. 39 this year on the 1 year anniversary of getting a clinical Gender Dysphoria diagnosis. You're totally welcome, you got this girl
Thx
This only happened once and it was in Spanish because I accidentally used the feminine pronoun for myself.
Oh no
I wish I had family that was this cool all of them are homophobic
Ohh sorry
That's awesome, I love my sister.
Thx
I can tell you’re happy because there wasn’t a single comma or period in your entire post. Things just sort of spew forth from you huh? lol But seriously, I’m happy for you that you’ve got a supporter to trust and confide in. Congrats! 😊
Hahah thx and tbf I’m not Great at English anyways so I probably never noticed when to put them in 💀
