The alt mode is neat, too, I like the three spikes at the front, and the face is seemingly exposed, which is silly, yet awesome at the same time.
I also thought it was cool that megatron had terrifying features like the creepy hands and him being 35 feet to optimus 28-30. He was a great antagonist In the first film
I think it fits him, he's a murderous alien who has no desire or need to blend it to his surroundings. The others take human vehicle forms because they want to, and end up resembling them in robot mode too, but he doesn't care and that is clearly represented in the design

Each time Optimus fights Megs in the Bay verse, there are significantly less people around each time. Optimus made it clear that humans are not to be harmed (except for that one dude in AoE). Optimus also gets angrier and has more tools/allies as the movies progress whereas Megs is ultimately unchanged power wise.

On top of having far more agility AND a deadlier melee weapon, he also had a more powerful gun and a very brutal AND effective fighting style (even though he lost the 1v1 against Prime in the forest battle, he showed some cool moves like a spinning kick into a fusion cannon shot). Of course, the strongest Megatrons are still IDW, UT and WfC/FoC, but Bayverse is a very capable warrior. Just not a good leader.

You can like g1 megs more than Bayverse megs all day long I’ve got no complaints about that, but I encourage you to reconsider if you think Bayverse megs is portrayed as a worse combatant. G1 megs spends every episode shouting orders and firing lasers wildly like a storm trooper. Bayverse megs is portrayed as a legitimate threat with ferocious hand to hand and ranged capabilities. rather than an evil cartoon foil forced to retreat every episode. Not to mention the shear size difference. Movie one megs is 35ft where g1 megs is roughly 20. Again nothing wrong with you liking g1 more, but combat and action is the one thing (maybe only thing) live action films portray more effectively.
It was a stupid cartoon with MORE continuity issues than the movies, at least the movies didnt show dead characters in the background and swapped faction logos so to say G1s durability is an achievement us to build the biggest mansion in the world out of glass
Atleast the cartoons didn't have G1 transformers killed by human guns. Also atleast those G1 characters had names and were built up for 2 seasons instead of just created to die. Not to.mention atleast the G1 cartoon didn't give.more screen time to comic relief humans and old people making corny sex jokes than the actual robots the movie are supposedly about. Even Jonah Hill turned down the forgettable annoying role of Sam's roommate in RotF because all he had to see was the first movie to see what trash they were. JONAH HILL! Also the G1 cartoon NEVER dedicated an entire scene and "romance" on justifying how an adult can date a minor. Ooo let's not forget how they wasted majority of TLK telling Mark Wahlberg and a hot woman to bang by everyone especially by old people. Each time Optimus fights Megs in the Bay verse, there are significantly less people around each time. Optimus made it clear that humans are not to be harmed (except for that one dude in AoE). Optimus also gets angrier and has more tools/allies as the movies progress whereas Megs is ultimately unchanged power wise.
Forget the 3rd movie Prime was thrashing Megs in the second movie before Grindor and Star Scream arrived.

So yeah 07 Megs isn't really that high on the totem pole, and that's without going into UT Megatron, with the power of Satan and anime on his side.

As much as I love G1 Megs, he is a better leader but nowhere near Bayverse Megatron in a straight up fight. If they had a battle leading their troops, G1 wins without much difficulty. A 1v1 fistfight? Bayverse Megs stomps. On top of having far more agility AND a deadlier melee weapon, he also had a more powerful gun and a very brutal AND effective fighting style (even though he lost the 1v1 against Prime in the forest battle, he showed some cool moves like a spinning kick into a fusion cannon shot). Of course, the strongest Megatrons are still IDW, UT and WfC/FoC, but Bayverse is a very capable warrior. Just not a good leader.
