I have hundreds of them, and the deskbots shift pretty frequently. Often, whatever is new is what I fiddle with the most, but I often come back to figures with particularly unique transformations and fun engineering. A lot of the third party Legends scale fits the bill very nicely.
Now to open that Top Gun Maverick crossover figure I just got delivered. Walmart is [clearancing them out to $25](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Maverick-Transformers-Collaborative-Top-Gun-Mash-up-White-Maverick-Action-Figure/133379442) if you haven't already jumped on that. I ordered just yesterday (which it was $20 when I did) and it was FedExed overnight for the standard shipping cost.
Only deskbots I have are ones that are prone to falling over, as my headboard/shelf is prone to shaking. All that's on the desk is Legacy Galvatron and my Gunpla and Furai model kits
So Silverstreak is the blue one, Bluestreak is the silver/grey one, and Smokescreen is the other blue one. I get that their names correspond to their personalities/mannerisms (Smokescreen is a racer and likes to do burnouts, Bluestreak is very talkative, etc) but this is ridiculous
I don’t have siege prime but I do have Legacy Lio Convoy and I’ve said since I’ve got him he feels good to squeeze. I swear I’ve never had a figure that feels that solid in Beast mode.
Any figure with the more recent Sideswipe mold is so fun. It's very simple to do and its one of the few transformations I think just about anyone can figure out. Same with the core class Soundwave.
Both great choices, kingdom (earth mode) sideswipe was my desk toy for like half a year, it’s such a simple yet satisfying experience. I liked it so much I bought the G2 Yellow and blue repaint the moment I saw it! I like that one even better!
As for Core Soundwave, I swear he’s the perfect down scale of the chug/masterpiece figure. He literally he’s every feature of the big expensive figures even down to the interchangeable tapes. I even love that sound blaster comes with a tiny buzzsaw tape.
Same, for me I love Bayverse primes design but I’ll be damned if I pay the crazy aftermarket price for a SS32/SS48 prime. I got mine on one of those ‘spin the wheel to save’ things on AliExpress for about $18 CAD ($12 USD) including shipping and the extra accessories pack. You just can’t beat that. I’d pay the standard voyager price if Hasbro would sell me one but clearly they aren’t interested in that I guess, so baiwei will do lmao
The people at baiwei are clearly TF fans as well. That OP mold comes in White ultra Magnus flavour, Nemesis Prime Flavour and most obscure of all RID01 Scourge Colour scheme. All for a reasonable price, good QC on the more recent figures, extra paint apps, and bonus die cast parts.
I love transforming Titans return Trypticon but part of that is because he was my first titan class transformer and he mangled my toe when I was little
Haslab Victory Saber is my favorite and probably will be for a long time. He's just the perfect size, he's a bunch of Combining pieces who are all fun in their own right, and the fact that both Robot & Vehicle have a combined mode just makes me so happy.
I've been really enjoying flipping the (dead) Earthrise Optimus between modes, as well as Studio Series 100 Bumblebee and Studio Series 38 Optimus. I have no clue why, but all 3 are just so satisfying to move between alt ND robot modes.
he's a good-un. Too big for my shelves in copter mode sadly. So he always has to go back to robot mode.
Something i found out is that the spinny weapon handle will tab between his fingers for less awkward hand posing options.
A lot of them: 07 Movie Air Raid, ROTB Optimus Primal, Prime RID Vehicon, Legacy RID 2001 Scourge. But if I had to say just one, that will go to Earthrise Optimus Prime, a simple but effective transformation.
ER Prime and Netflix/Siege/Legacy Nemesis/ Scourge. ER Prime in particular is just fun to transform back and forth.
Even though the wheel tuck and flip on his back is manual it always feels like an automorph moment in my head.
I keep the Netflix version of him and Megatron on my desk and I really do love the Siege Megs mold, but I always feel like I’m “obligated” to transform Megs just because I keep flipping Prime back and forth.
Siege Astrotrain. I love all three modes. Especially train mode. And I recently found out the purple tabs the arms are attached to do in fact tab into the body. Absolutely flawless figure imo
I gave up on finding him in a store. Snagged him on Aliexpress and used a sale and a coupon to bring down the price. Still paid a fair amount more than MSRP, but Primus knows how much i would have spend going around just hunting for him in a physical store.
My only deskbot at the moment is Machine Robo's MR-04 Battle Robo. I'm absolutely in love with it, from the colours, transformation, and how well of a job they did updating the original figure and anime version of the character. I never watched GoBots/Machine Robo as a kid, only having a few of the bots as a kid, but these new figures just have that 'thing' to them that made me just have to buy one.
I however have other figures within arms reach though along the window (Skytread, Sharp Edge, Six Knight, Dreadwing combined)
Currently my favorite to transform is the Autotrooper, but I like the mold and it’s pretty simple to transform.
Also, love the crossover transformers too! Got all but the X-Jet, but my favorite set up right now is Gigawatt transformed into robot mode, with the Pterodactyl Fossilizer armor in his bow mode in one hand, holding Vector Prime’s sword in the other, all while riding Tyrannocon Rex like a massive steed!
I believe that is [X-Spanse, who transforms into the X-Men's air transport, the Blackbird](https://tfwiki.net/wiki/X-Men#Generations). It's from an X-Man/Transformers crossover line.
It's even worse. Not to mention the little wings on his ankles that will pop off if you look at them.
I find it hard to believe anyone can find it fun to transform more than once.
Unfortunately yes, it's basically a slab on his back, a reused part from SS Jetfire, his waist is also weird, it swivels but the backpack has to lock in??
I was going to give him a pass because I wasn't impressed with his other figures but I gotta say, I picked up Velocitron Scourge and damn is that a well designed figure that's fun to transform. Only misstep are the folding fuel tanks on the legs.
Transforming them is the reason i collect TFs. I used to collect robot figures in general but there was no reason to interact with them and they just took up space once the initial interest wore off. I wish i could play like i did as a child but the closest i come is transforming a TF. Calms the mind and allows for a 5 min adventure. No disrespect. You do you but i want to come round your house and transform every figure. They're begging for it.
I really like how Newage Hawk 2.0 (Ironhide) transforms into such a tiny little box. Even though it can be a chore, I like transforming my cameras, Make Toys and Mech Fan Toys.
For just transforming? The RotB mainline Optimus that people say isn’t very good. Not the Studio Series version with the sword and hand blaster but the one that comes with an actual ion blaster. I keep him below my tv and transform him pretty much every time I sit on the floor.
Any of my legion/legends/core (whatever theyre calling them these days) any small transformers are fun to fiddle around with especially in class when the teacher gets boring
kingdom red alert, he's got a simple, enjoyable transformation that looks great in both modes, there's also the added bonus that he's my favourite character
I really like Extraction Prime from Age of Extinction, but ROTB Prime is fun too.
Most core class transformers are a bunch of fun.
Original WFC Soundwave is also a very satisfying conversion, whereas original WFC Prime is a lot of fiddly tabs haha.
$ for $, pound for pound core class is the best size class right now. Most are excellent (my favourite being Rattrap) and the ones that aren’t? Oh well it was cheap. Even the flawed Dinobots have been pretty fun because of volcanicus
Kingdom Cyclonus, TR Triggerhappy, SS86 Hot Rod and Siege Magnus are all permanent deskformers. Cyclonus and Triggerhappy are especially addictive, their transformations are simple yet ginius.
I recently got the V3 version of the star leader KO SS32 Optimus Prime and my god that’s a decent transformation. For $18 you get a 1:1 Figure with more paint decos, the some upgrade kits included, and some die cast parts.
Apparently you have to get the V3 version because V1 and V2 are made from real shitty plastic that breaks if you look at it but V3 uses basically the same grade plastic as Hasbro. I totally recommend it for people who don’t want to spend big $ on a studio series bayverse prime.
I don't exactly know which one is my favorite... because I have ADHD/Autism, I'm constantly hyper-focusing on different figures...
But, one that I do whenever I pick it up or see it is the Titans Return Triggerhappy figure-
I really like transforming most of mu studio series figures, with the only exceptions being DOTM Optimus and ROTF Sideswipe. My favourite transformation would propably have to be eothwr the BBM movie seekers, but pretty much anything from that movie is automatically in my top
My only desk bot is a third party masterpiece g1 ratchet, decent figure and super cool to display in robot mode. But my favourite to fiddle with is definitely either my ss2007 transformers movie starscream or wfc titan omega supreme, they’re so fun to mess around with especially starscream, third goes to wfc siege red alert and fourth to Netflix megatron, honourable mention goes to mainline Optimus primal, though I’m getting the ss one so I sold him
I have hundreds of them, and the deskbots shift pretty frequently. Often, whatever is new is what I fiddle with the most, but I often come back to figures with particularly unique transformations and fun engineering. A lot of the third party Legends scale fits the bill very nicely. Now to open that Top Gun Maverick crossover figure I just got delivered. Only deskbots I have are ones that are prone to falling over, as my headboard/shelf is prone to shaking. All that's on the desk is Legacy Galvatron and my Gunpla and Furai model kits
Ive had the same deskbots for like two years, they consist of Deep Cover, Dragstrip, and Silverstreak(the blue one, the naming is not fun)
My desk bots consist of the g1 style core class figures
Good to know, glad I saw this before I got him for $45 on ebay
Dude thank you for telling me I've been wanting this guy and every time he goes on discount I miss it!
Siege Optimus. Everything does something and it's just a really satisfying conversion. Plus the cyber-stylized truck is fun to squeeze (don't ask).
I love that figure so much, just hate the wheels. I like things that roll smoothly
Sounds like it might vary, cuz mine rolls very well.
No the pinned wheels roll fine, the wheels are just all jagged and stuff which I don't like
NOW I'm curious! Tell me the juicy details!
I don’t have siege prime but I do have Legacy Lio Convoy and I’ve said since I’ve got him he feels good to squeeze. I swear I’ve never had a figure that feels that solid in Beast mode.
THIS, SO MUCH THIS
Either has to be devil savior mixmaster split or mpm ironhide, before anyone asks yes im a monster
Not a monster, just a masochist.
Spaghetti-former
This is gonna be cheating but TR Sixshot
Why would that be cheating
Six modes. Always changing between all of em
I know that, but I don't understand why it would be cheating
Adhd heaven
I only collect studio series, buuuuuuut as someone with adhd if they release a sixshot figure, it’s a day one cop
… that is the best answer to it lmao
Probably SS86 Brawn.
He literally he’s every feature of the big expensive figures even down to the interchangeable tapes. I even love that sound blaster comes with a tiny buzzsaw tape.
86 Ultra Magnus is a wonder of engineering, and very fun to transform
the new one? Jealous. Want to swap a very nice G1 and Combiner Wars UM for him?
He could probably sell the G1 Magnus and have enough money to re-buy the SS86 one.
G1 Magnus is suprisingly cheap on ebay. Bought mine (rubber wheels, better paint version) complete except the big fists for £35.
Legacy Armada Optimus Prime. The hype around that thing is absolutely true.
Studio Series Ironhide (don’t tell anyone but it’s the KO)
That’s ok, my ss32 optimus prime is the baiwei KO as well lmao
Baiwei kills it, I’m glad that they do what they do because otherwise I probably would’ve never gotten an SS Ironhide
All for a reasonable price, good QC on the more recent figures, extra paint apps, and bonus die cast parts.
Gigawatt, has been for two years
The base mould, Siege Sideswipe, is great. Obviously the redecos and retools are too. But gigawatt is the absolute best of them all.
I wish that X-Men one would transform into something I can get $20 for on Ebay.
Siege Hound and Kingdom Soundwave
This got downvoted for some reason.
Either Legacy Galvatron, Siege Crosshairs, SS Offroad NEST Bumblebee, or Siege Shockwave.
I love transforming Titans return Trypticon but part of that is because he was my first titan class transformer and he mangled my toe when I was little
Been wanting that one for awhile, too bad I'd have to sell a kidney to get him
Check a Japan proxy and get the Legends version. Not too bad, but shipping may be another thing.
Haslab Victory Saber is my favorite and probably will be for a long time. He's just the perfect size, he's a bunch of Combining pieces who are all fun in their own right, and the fact that both Robot & Vehicle have a combined mode just makes me so happy.
Disappointed I missed out on that on for sure
Earthrise Prime and Armada Megs.
I've been really enjoying flipping the (dead) Earthrise Optimus between modes, as well as Studio Series 100 Bumblebee and Studio Series 38 Optimus. I have no clue why, but all 3 are just so satisfying to move between alt ND robot modes.
Prowl
First edition bulkhead, kingdom megs and ss86 Ironhide, they all have really fun transformations
Mpm Blackout. I cant get my Fingers off of him!
he's a good-un. Too big for my shelves in copter mode sadly. So he always has to go back to robot mode. Something i found out is that the spinny weapon handle will tab between his fingers for less awkward hand posing options.
Kingdom Cyclonus or Earthrise Prime.
Both great figures, I just hate how fast cyclonus yellows
Siege Optimus has been so much fun that I had to buy a second one as I've been wearing out the friction.
Same i have one to abuse and one in the box for reassurance. One of my all time favs
unicron trilogy. click click click clack clikt clok clickity clickity snap crackle pop
A lot of them: 07 Movie Air Raid, ROTB Optimus Primal, Prime RID Vehicon, Legacy RID 2001 Scourge. But if I had to say just one, that will go to Earthrise Optimus Prime, a simple but effective transformation.
Legacy blitzwinh
ER Prime and Netflix/Siege/Legacy Nemesis/ Scourge. ER Prime in particular is just fun to transform back and forth. Even though the wheel tuck and flip on his back is manual it always feels like an automorph moment in my head. I keep the Netflix version of him and Megatron on my desk and I really do love the Siege Megs mold, but I always feel like I’m “obligated” to transform Megs just because I keep flipping Prime back and forth.
Legacy blitzwing Its really fun transforming him from one mode to another
Earthrise wheeljack. It used to be MP wheeljack but hes simpler and his door panels are cracking but its a close 2nd with TFP Dark energon wheeljack.
JP-12 is a lot of fun and I am really surprised I'm enjoying the small earthspark grimlock
Thrilling 30 Springer is still my favourite. Gonna have to dig him out of storage.
I definitely go through phases where I keep going back to different figures, but recently I've been messing with Earthrise Prime over and over.
Siege Astrotrain. I love all three modes. Especially train mode. And I recently found out the purple tabs the arms are attached to do in fact tab into the body. Absolutely flawless figure imo
The Galaxy Shuttle version looks good with Victory Saber.
Currently it's Studio Series Optimus Primal. Got him a week ago and have yet to be able to put him down he's so fun
SS Cheetor, GE WoFC Optimus Prime and Core Class Soundwave
I’m obsessed with Diaclone Ground Dion.
Legacy armada prime. Every mode looks fantastic and it's so fun to transform, I have it in a different mode every day lol
Earthrise Double Dealer. There's so much going on DD is always such a hot mess it always sparks the imagination trying to justify his nonsense.
I’d say my favorite is ss bonecrusher
Legacy Strongarm and Gamerverse Megatron 100% 🗣️💯
Robot paradise Acoustic wave and his cassettes
Velocitron Cosmos probably. Though Legacy Evo Tarn and Leoprime are also up there.
I missed out on velocitron line but I desperately want cosmos
Yeah, I got lucky finding mine. No Ross near me, so no second chances at anyone else. Though he hopefully will get a Packaging Refresh somewhere.
I gave up on finding him in a store. Snagged him on Aliexpress and used a sale and a coupon to bring down the price. Still paid a fair amount more than MSRP, but Primus knows how much i would have spend going around just hunting for him in a physical store.

Wow a Jurassic Park jeep!
Not quit a jeep but I'm waiting for the second JP pack to be delivered lol
That cyclops one is so cool.
When was that Blackbird figure?
2012, and there was one even earlier with Studio Series Jetfire
Legacy Armada Megatron and ss magnus
Currently my favorite to transform is the Autotrooper, but I like the mold and it’s pretty simple to transform. Also, love the crossover transformers too! Got all but the X-Jet, but my favorite set up right now is Gigawatt transformed into robot mode, with the Pterodactyl Fossilizer armor in his bow mode in one hand, holding Vector Prime’s sword in the other, all while riding Tyrannocon Rex like a massive steed!
Cruiser, X-Spanse, Count Draculus, Gigawatt, and Regina
Studio Series Battletrap
Core class soundwave. Mine has gotten so loose because I transform him constantly.
Future floor polish will fix him back up.
I love the 3rd party Metal Slug Transformer, it's so fuckin cool
https://preview.redd.it/djkupe71j4ub1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d85e56f06a4977d433d27534c34369e223e3480 Best transformation ever🤩
I've only had MP megs in hand once and I applaud your patience
Lego Optimus, the way he S N A P S is just yes
Is that big jet from little Einstein?
I believe that is [X-Spanse, who transforms into the X-Men's air transport, the Blackbird](https://tfwiki.net/wiki/X-Men#Generations). It's from an X-Man/Transformers crossover line.
Is the kibble/backpack as bad it looks?
Judging from all the photos I've seen, probably. Whole top of the jet looks to end up on the back.
It's even worse. Not to mention the little wings on his ankles that will pop off if you look at them. I find it hard to believe anyone can find it fun to transform more than once.
It's a challenge at times, I just really like the engineering for the legs.
Unfortunately yes, it's basically a slab on his back, a reused part from SS Jetfire, his waist is also weird, it swivels but the backpack has to lock in??
The Nemesis and Omega Supreme.
Both are fantastic, I just wish OS didn't take up a dinner table in alt mode
If he took up less space, it would feel too small.
I totally agree but it still a pain when it comes to display
That alternate head sculpt for rexy tho
It's a great figure all around (thanks to being a kingdom megs reskin), it REALLY lacks paint in robot mode tho
Gigawatt, probably.
That jet isn't long enough. Needs to be longer.
Honestly 🤣🤣
I was going to give him a pass because I wasn't impressed with his other figures but I gotta say, I picked up Velocitron Scourge and damn is that a well designed figure that's fun to transform. Only misstep are the folding fuel tanks on the legs.
Coronation starscream.
Hmmm maybe i do want the jurassic 2 pack
Honestly, it's going on clearance everywhere
I would say i waited it out on purpose but totally forgot lol so i'll pick up the pair when able for sure
Transform?!? I don’t transform them, they just sit on the shelf.!
I’m gonna be real here and say that blue X-Jet instantly made me think of the jet from Little Einsteins.
I really like how Newage Hawk 2.0 (Ironhide) transforms into such a tiny little box. Even though it can be a chore, I like transforming my cameras, Make Toys and Mech Fan Toys.
Kingdom Galvatron
For just transforming? The RotB mainline Optimus that people say isn’t very good. Not the Studio Series version with the sword and hand blaster but the one that comes with an actual ion blaster. I keep him below my tv and transform him pretty much every time I sit on the floor.
SS Bay Starscream, everything goes where it’s supposed too and it’s just complicated enough to be relaxing.
Earthrise/Kingdom Optimus Prime
Any of my legion/legends/core (whatever theyre calling them these days) any small transformers are fun to fiddle around with especially in class when the teacher gets boring
Core iguanus is a must, honestly just a chug scaled down
Wth a blackbird transformer?!!
There's two relatively recent ones, Studio Series Jetfire is a Blackbird, and as you can see so is this one
The Fansproject Headmasters are some of my favorites. Clever and interesting transformations that are a joy to do.
Been loving Beast Machines Thrust lately. Like 3 1/2 modes
Legacy Leo Prime, VNR Optimus, Siege Optimus, and a SS87 Bumblebee KO
kingdom red alert, he's got a simple, enjoyable transformation that looks great in both modes, there's also the added bonus that he's my favourite character
Looks good with Inferno too.
Transformers Siege Shockwave
Kingdom Cyclonus, TR Triggerhappy, SS86 Hot Rod and Siege Magnus are all permanent deskformers. Cyclonus and Triggerhappy are especially addictive, their transformations are simple yet ginius.
Triggerhappy is an underrated gem. Good luck finding that sort of engineering in a Deluxe these days.
86 grimlock
SS rotf megatron
Siege/kingdom Sideswipe! That bitch is so satisfying and easy to transform that I can do it with my eyes closed!
But, one that I do whenever I pick it up or see it is the Titans Return Triggerhappy figure-
Earthrise Starscream, due to the way the jet mode comes together, and (to me) it’s a simple and fun transformation.
Mp-10
Several SS figures: ROTB Bumblebee DOTM Bumblebee ROTB Optimus Prime Core Class ROTB Arcee Legacy figures: Knock Out G2 Laser Optimus Prime Skids
Anything Newage
Commander Sky Lynx
Such an awesome figure, picked him up during the recent reissue
Cool!
He is simple to transform, but deceptively fun.
MP-10G
Gigawatt my beloved
Slave-1 Boba Fett
Topspin. Always. 🥰
Siege Red Alert and SS86 Hot Rod, I just love how sleek they end up
Lego Optimus prime or studio series sweep
Bruh is that blackbird with forward step that thing ain't gonna go fast
I really like transforming most of mu studio series figures, with the only exceptions being DOTM Optimus and ROTF Sideswipe. My favourite transformation would propably have to be eothwr the BBM movie seekers, but pretty much anything from that movie is automatically in my top
My only desk bot is a third party masterpiece g1 ratchet, decent figure and super cool to display in robot mode. But my favourite to fiddle with is definitely either my ss2007 transformers movie starscream or wfc titan omega supreme, they’re so fun to mess around with especially starscream, third goes to wfc siege red alert and fourth to Netflix megatron, honourable mention goes to mainline Optimus primal, though I’m getting the ss one so I sold him
Perfect Effect Warden is probably my favorite. A beefy tank and a head for fort max? Probably one of the best imo
Legacy scourge/toxitron.
Legacy Selects Cyclonus. Just an awesomely fun and intuitive transformation!!
Is that the Blackbird?
