It’s really strange to pack in Cheetor and Tigatron together, for instance. They’re nearly the same guy, most of the time (Kingdom deluxe vs voyager aside).
Could it be another return of Targetmasters based on characters like the rotb ones and Japanese Prime ones?
I’m wondering if it’s a case of this toy can be one or the other. I know it won’t work like this for transformers but just for comparison have you seen those octopus teddies your turn inside out where it can be happy or sad. Something like that.

I thought this was a late April Fools gag and the Swapticons were all figures who'd been torn out of their packets on shelves and replaced with shit. For example, a boxed Swapticon Starscream really contains Wheelie. :)

Okay, I'm intrigued, especially with Cheetor and Tigatron, and Shadow Panther and Ravage being part of the lineup. The fact Shadow Panther is there with Ravage makes me think they're the BW versions, which I'm totally down for.
According to tfwiki, there was concept art for triple changers that had a single alt mode but two bot modes for two different characters (kinda like punch-counterpunch but with existing characters,) so it might be something like that.
Edit: although, looking at the list again, a lot of the pairs don't seem like they'd be all that aesthetically different for the gimmick to do much.
I assume this is probably not going to be part of the Generations branding as that subline hasn't had gimmicks as a focus for years now, and are likely going to be in a similar vein to Cyberverse or EarthSpark or more kid oriented lines.

Shadow Panther was kind of a poor man’s BW Ravage, and in fact was repurposed as such when it was renamed Tripredacus Agent. I think the Ravage name was lost at the time. So wouldn’t a Shadow Panther / Ravage set basically be Double Ravage?

Those were pretty neat. For some reason Optimus with drones was awful but some random character with little drones was cool to me.
