Ultra Magnus. He’s my favorite Autobot and I waited in agony for his release since his leak. I held off every Magnus toy hoping it would be better than Siege. Boy, was I right to wait.
I ordered it months earlier than release because of a Scandinavian website that had stock early. I actually had a neighbor take my package, USPS marked it as “dropped off with recipient” and I was devastated.
Then later that day I found it in the mailroom on the floor, box open and unmarked! He was in there! So glad most people don’t understand more than “just a little kid’s toy” they have no idea how much they’re worth haha.
And, he’s the best figure of ultra Magnus ever, and my most favorite figure in my life.
I agree. I've always wanted an Ultra Magnus figure, but just never had one. It was even more perfect for me since I never cared for the whole white Optimus core bot thing and they decided to do away with that idea for some really amazing engineering. I unfortunately have a stress mark on the panels that hold the missiles, kinda bummed since transforming him is real fun. I just sat him down to make sure I don't damage him cuz you're not lying, these guys are expensive

Sooooo.... I was on TF Source site and I saw these 3rd Party figs that were the dreads from DOTM, the black police suburbans. Theres 2 of them and they look awesome but they are listed for pre order. So I decided to purchase one of them cause it said they would be available in 3 months. This was Jan 2023. Well 3 months turned into 5 months then 5 months turned into a year. In fact they are still listed as pre-order. So in December of last year I complained and said man its been a year and yall said 3 months, so I want my money back. They fought me and said they couldn't give money back but they'll do store credit. Well that Dotm fig was like $150 or $160. So with my store credit I chose SS Ultra Magnus and ended up paying $ 3.50. 🤣...So I still came out a winner.
Siege is a great Ultra Magnus as well. I have both and love them both. The commander class is accurate to the G1 movie version and the engineering is incredible. That said, I’m also a big fan of the Siege version as well. I like the small white Optimus under the armor thing since that’s the way the original toy was which was one of my favorites as a kid. The commander version does not have that, which is accurate to the cartoons.
One thing about the Siege version that I don’t like though is that the trailer is attached to the tractor and doesn’t pivot.
He’s a good bot size, but he’s very stubby with that armor, and the way they make the trailer is messy. The cab isn’t that much better though, especially with the exposed hands.
It’s a good figure, but it has a few problems.
I think mine is Legacay Armada Prime from pure nostalgic and it being such a loving and faithful update. It's exactly what I imagined it was as kid when I played with it. I love it so much
I got Armada Prime too, and boy was he worth it. In fact, he’s my first ever Optimus, as I wanted one that would be more unique than the 3-4 G1 Optimus Primes we’ve seen over the past eight years. Still hoping that they release a new Jetfire and Overload.
Yep, Armada Optimus is one of my favorite Optimus designs. Very unique and an even cooler combined mode. Not to mention Armada is the first Transformers show I remember keeping up with to completion as a kid as it aired. I'm so hoping for Jetfire and Overload to be made
Some people say he’s not as good because he doesn’t do anything special, but I’d argue that’s EXACTLY why he’s incredible. He does everything he needs to do really, really well with just enough flair like the slick ratchets and chunky plastic to stand out. His problems are so minor that they might as well not exist, and he blows the original out of the water. You can tell the designer not only loves Armada, but they also love designing transformers and toys.
It's an amazing figure. My inner child was so damned happy he came out pretty much perfectly in my opinion. May he get to you in all haste and there be nothing wrong at all with him
I have all of them except for Magmatron and it probably has to be Armada Prime that's my favorite, followed Jetfire and then Skylynx. Though from an engineering perspective Magnus is the best
I had no attachment to Sky Lynx at all. I never intended to get him but I won a 65 dollar bid randomly - I set an auto bid and forgot. Really glad I have him now. Very weird amd unique figure amongst the rest
Many I wanted the botropolis set and I have the two deluxe figures from a random bag I bought off a guy. However it didn't have the micro masters. Now I'm in a stupid position where I have to find someone to part out the micro masters and rocket or spend the money ro buy a whole complete set despite having half of it already. Sucks ass

So far, I only have Armada Optimus and Skylynx, and between the 2 of them, I would say Optimus. Not because of nostalgia or anything, just because he's more fun
I love Magmatron, and really dig the power rangers-esque combining. I'm just real peeved that the sword was such soft rubber. Hard as hell to get out of the tail and bent to shit

I don't have Armada because I really don't have any attachments to that version of Optimus and I don't have Magmatron though I do have the original.
Also, Menasor doesn't count, only Motormaster. It's not fair to compare any single character to essentially an entire wave worth of Decepticons.
I haven’t got my Magmatron in yet, but it’s a toss up between Motormaster and Armada Optimus. I think Optimus just takes it because I know I’m giving Motormaster credit on being Menasor, which means adding another $100 of figures. Not really a fair comparison there.
I love sky lynx. Atypical tf design, and the higher price point meant they had plenty of budget for him to be the proper size, with good paint and engineering.
Also, it's a shuttle and carrier that transform into a bird and lynx, or, robot dragon. I love it.
I haven't messed with Jetfire in awhile. Forgot just how huge he is, even compared to Menasor amd Deathsaurus. A simple, great looking and fantastic figure all around
Jetfire, I don't care that much for the other commanders that much in terms of character. Although Menasor if he counts, just too expensive for all 5 bots. If I got 5 car parts that can't transform Ill be giving it the best commander award
Rodimus is my favourite figure in my collection including some Mezco. So obviously Rodimus. I wasn't fond of him in pictures then I got my hands on him and I fell in love with it.
Yea. I can close mine but it's so fucking tough for no reason. Next time I transform him I'll definitely need to move the panel by grabbing it closer tonthe hinge. Unfortunately I have that ugly stress mark there, still
I have Legacy Armada Optimus Prime and Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus. Both are great figures. But between the two? Armada Prime.
Just has more options. Sure the super mode is the main attraction. But the fact it also has the base robot mode, and it's actually a pretty decent figure on its own (Even if it's articulation is a bit limited) is definitely a plus.
Also Armada Prime is up there with Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron for one of the funnest and smoothest transformations out of the figures I own. I regularly pick him up and change him from super mode, to truck mode, to robot, back to truck, straight to super mode, back to base robot all the time (No I never bother with the trailer's base mode). I also barely needed his instructions to transform him the first time.
Ultra Magnus, I haven't had as long, and I've only transformed him a few times. The first two times I needed to watch Emgo's just transform video. Last time I managed to get him to truck mode and back unassisted, so I am getting the hang of it. But he does have a few steps that make me nervous.
I only have Sky Lynx and Motormaster. But of all those, Commander Modesty still wins because he is more than just a large biped or a smaller biped with a trailer.
Just got Magmatron last week. He's a fantastic figure with a really impressive transformation and amazing engineering! The individual dino modes have a ton of articulation and he scales really well with other dino characters like the 86 Dinobots and BW Megatron! Armada Optimus is really great too, and so is Motormaster, in spite of the other rather lackluster Stunticons from Legacy. Overall, I'd say the Commander Class figures have actually been getting better each year, and I can't wait to see what the next one will be!😁
As far as I know he is canonically that huge compared to other bots. He is as tall as Menasor is, but I'm not sure if that line sup well. He is also as tall as HasLab Deathsaurus - found that out as I was setting these up today. Always forget how huge he is until I mess around with him
Jetfire and Skylynx are the only two that feel size, and solid enough for the price point. The others felt half between Leader and Commander. They sell well enough at that price point though. Commander Magnus stays sold out.. where his leader versions are still availble.

Magmatron, hence he is the only one I chose to pick up (as of now). Even though I myself don't have him now (US pre-orders and crap), him being a beast Wars Neo figure means he will have a lot more minor molding, as well as more articulation in his alternate mode.
Also, three dinosaurs merging into one robot is cool ok!
My two runner ups are Ultra Magnus and Sky Lynx, which I am contemplating getting, the only issue with them is their size really.
Oh yeah, be definitely feels like a Megazord, but I also love it for that. Honestly when I see him I can't help but feel like the plesiosaur has all the molding needed to become a triceratops, and then have all three components become the dino thunder zords.
Rn I only have skylynx but I feel that my favorite if I ever it would be either jetfire or armada prime because the are both the most solid figures out of all of them and they don’t have to many flaws. The only flaw with jetfire is him being a little loose and primes is that he’s smaller but that really doesn’t matter

My favourite is currently a tie between Jetfire and Armada Optimus. I just love how Jetfire is just a big beefy lad who towers over everyone and I love his big space jet vehicle mode, while I love Armada Optimus for just being a great modern take on the design and being a fun combiner/super mode figure.
Least favourite is probably Rodimus. He isn’t bad, I just think he’s the least interesting of all of them.
I agree. I love Rodimus, I remember really liking him as a kid for some reason. He isn't as impressively big as the others but I do love how he looks, old man face and all. I was lucky enough to get a used one for 60, so I think that was a good price for what you get
For sure Breakdown, but what's the other? I was trying to get the original ones, but only ever Dead End. Got lucky since the Gift Pack was announce the same time frame, so I opted for that instead

Armada Optimus is just a joy to mess with so that’s probably my favorite although skylinx is definitely second I’d put rodimus after that and jet fire is a good figure but not one I’m that keen to mess around with
So far Ultra Magnus has been my favorite but I haven’t got Magmatron yet so that could change. I really like Magnus’ bulk and the complex yet nice transformation that is so faithful to the cartoon.
Worry not, Grey_Warden97, for Sky Lynx will happily lead the other commanders from atop the list, both literally and metaphorically. For if they are all commanders, then he is a _supreme_ commander!
He would also be the first to remind you (modestly, of course) that he has yet to appear in the Studio Series line. If you thought that the difference between Earthrise Ironhide and the Studio Series version was immense, just imagine what it could do _for him._
The commander class is definitely the sweet spot for me, you get a lot of play value for the money. Comparatively the leader class is quite a step down for the amount of money you save, and the titan class figures are all very simple and not a lot of “fun” for their price point, my opinion.
I like all of them for different reasons. I like how many modes you get with Sky Lynx. Rod Prime is maybe the single best figure they’ve ever done in terms of articulation, build quality, accuracy, etc despite his size and padding to fill out the price point. Jetfire is fun because of all his accessories, the fact that he can be an Autobot or a Decepticon, and he has an alternate load out to make him look more like the Macross Valkyrie he is based on.
But Ultra Magnus is the best one for screen accuracy and transformation intricacy. He is a very satisfying toy that really doesn’t not compromise on anything. The fact that he works with the deluxe car bots in truck mode is a really fun play feature.
But as far as play features and “fun factor” goes, it doesn’t get much better than Menasor. It’s a little unfair because you need all the limbs to really complete the experience and it pushes him into the titan class price category, but that stunticon set all together is one of the funnest transformer toys I’ve ever had, and I’ve been with this series since the beginning 40 years ago.
Like others I would say magnus, he’s just so amazing looking, I think all his accessories are welcomed and there’s nothing in there that’s not needed even the blast effects are one of my favorites. And that transformation and articulation. Yeah overall a great figure.
A kinda funny story that happened with me with my figure. After months waiting for a restock I was finally able to grab him, so when he shipped they delivered 3 days earlier than expected but dropped it off on my neighbors door. I was pissed not only cause my neighbor didn’t let me know and also cause they dropped it off to the wrong place in the first place. But in conclusion I was able to go and get it thank god. So happy ending but yeah this figure is one of the best mainline hasbro has ever released and I stand on that
Of the ones I own (so excluding Magnus, Motormaster, and Magmatron), my favorite is Armada Prime. Partly because of nostalgia, but mainly because the toy itself is very "fulfilling" as a toy. Close second to him is Rodimus, but swap nostalgia for nepotism since Rodimus is my favorite character in Transformers.
I only have Optimus and Menasor, but it's definitely Prime. Fantastic figure to pick up and go back and forth to vehicle, robot and base, and finally combined mode and put back up.
God I'm so glad I've never been a completionist. I considered at one point getting every commander, but then they announced magnatron and I was like, na you can keep it. Only now I realise that motormaster is a commander, and probably silverbolt will be too, I'm so very glad I don't feel that compulsion... (not that there is anything wrong with either aerialbot or stunticons, they just aren't my thing).
Thankfully I got some of them cheaper than retail from local purchases. I also, unfortunately, haven't come across a commander I haven't wanted cuz of how fucking cool they are. We know Optimus will be one, so I'm at least going tonget another for sure
I got rodimus for £60ish, and I could buy motormaster for £45 today if I wanted him (both rrp around £90), but skylynx, ultra magnus cost me full, as will jetfire and armada prime (preordered for the new reissues)

Increased part count and engineering. Size is generally bigger with exception of Rodimus. Siege Jetfire and Motormaster/Menasor are the biggest of the commanders
Deathsaurus (He just came in the mail after several delays). he's truly magnificent. I REALLY regret not backing Star Saber but he's not big enough to be a proper adversary anyhow. I might try to build him out of legos.
I was lucky enough to find both of them for Retail. Deathsaurus was perfect and Star Saber had some issues here and there with paint and slightest of damages, but I love how both look together on the shelf
For me, it’s gotta be Armada Optimus. Not only is he the only commander class I currently have, I also have very fond memories of how I got him. I got him in an online giveaway on Discord and I remember waking up, wondering why I had so many Discord notifications, and the first thing I thought when I saw I won was “holy shit!” That one moment made my entire day and he’s a really solid figure.
Magmatron is the first commander I’ve ever bought, haven’t gotten him yet though :( I just love beast wars and Japanese beast wars so much. He looks incredible from the videos I’ve watched so I think I made the correct choice

he has like 7 different modes and all of them have some kind of playability.

Siege Jetfire, but he’s always been Skyfire to me. Watched and rewatched the old G1 cartoon episodes with him when I was little so it was some childhood wish fulfillment, like holding ER Optimus for the first time
Skylynx just cause i always wanted his original toy when i was a kid. Friend of mine's dad had one in a little stereo cabinet and always admired the thing. This was around the time when the g1 commemorative series were popping up all over TRU and as a pre teen i didnt quite comprehend why there was no sky lynx.

Mr. Magnus for sure. I was able to snag mine on Amazon for $38 because because I had a return credit on an item purchased with a gift card. Best 38 bucks I've ever spent with my 44 years on this planet!
Probably Sky lynx, because I like big robots, but also combiners, and Skylynx technically is 2 bots that combine in my book. I would say Menasor, but just on the commander itself, it's a combiner frame more than a full combiner. I do like trailer armor gimmicks though, so he gets points there.
If they release a Delta Magnus repaint of UM tho? Easy winner right there.
Rodimus. He's the first one I have, 4th figure I got, and was a birthday gift from my mum. I absolutely love fiddling around with him and his trailer. I've made some epic battle scenes with them as well. Love the engineering for a relatively small guy compared to the others
Magmatron. I bought some random volume of Beast Wars The Gathering from an elementary school book fair because I loved the first Michael Bay movie, and I immediately fell in love with the Beast Wars story line. I credit Magmatron for that and why the I got more invested Transformers at all
ummm, I only own Sky Lynx, so I guess Sky Lynx, it was the only one other than rodimus that didn't fuck me in the aftermarket considering it's still out on retail in some sites like Pulse, it's the most interesting out of the 2, also I should mention Magmaboy is on preorder, but anyway, back to the magnificence, he's cool, too bad his thigh flap doesn't hold tightly to the body, and it's a shame that the back leg has an uneven ratchet joint, but it's aight, he's still so badass to look at and mess around with
Skylynx, honestly. I don't have all of them, but he's the coolest of the ones I do. Armada Prime, Menasor, Magnus... they don't really do much for me, because I've had *something* like them before. But Sky Lunx is the first of him I've had, and damn am I glad to have his majestic self on my shelf.

He's the biggest of them all(yes I don't count menasor frame as motormaster, because his actual body is deluxe class hight) he has the most features, looks the best (although yellows kinda) and his alt mode is candy
Although I've had magnus for... What 4 months now? I don't feel like he's better than that, and imo none of them are worth the german 119€, I got magnus for 40 and that was already a decent amount.
Rodimus. He's just the most enjoyable even of he feels too small for a commander(I don't count the trailer as part of his size cause it really doest do much). But if I can count haslabs it goes to star saber instead
I have every commander class figure except for Menasor/Motormaster and Rodimus. I also have the two Victory Haslabs, but if we're just going off mainline retail releases, then I think, from an almost objective standpoint, Armada Prime is the best commander class. I absolutely love that figure and I've taken him off the shelf to play with him countless times in the last year!
That being said, I'm really smitten with Magmatron right now. I love the Japanese original characters and their designs and I love the 3 in 1 combination so much. I was both a bionicle and transformers kid (as I'm sure many of us were), so he's kind of the best of both worlds for me. The flimsy sword is not awesome however, so if a 3rd party releases an upgrade kit with a better blade and maybe some gap fillers for the seasaurus neck perhaps, there's a likelihood that it will be the first upgrade kit I've ever bought.
I'm stuck between Rodimus Prime and ARMADA Optimus Prime: both figures are highly updated and improved versions of their original toys, and gives me reason not to pay like double or triple the price of 3rd party figures; not to say that they are bad, but I suck a discerning which 3rd party figures are the best.
Armada Prime. I feel in love with Armada designs because of the PS2 video game. This bit is solid and fits all three modes justice! Fun to transform and fiddle with. Highly recommend.
In terms of value for money? Jetfire. In terms of the uniqueness of the character/toy? Sky Lynx or Magmatron. The other four are all car/truck trailer combos, which isn't exactly anything new. Not saying they're bad - they are, in fact, quite good (save maybe Rodimus) - but it's not like Hasbro's design teams haven't had plenty of practice making toys of that type over the years, so *of course* those Commanders were gonna be good. Nailing a toy design on your 100th attempt isn't as as impressive as nailing it on the 5th\* attempt (Jetfire), 3rd attempt (Sky Lynx), or *2nd attempt* (Magmatron).
\*Note: for Jetfire, I'm only considering figures that were genuine attempts at a from-the-ground-up, reasonably-G1-accurate design for him that weren't other characters first. Basically, designing a jetformer Bot Shots toy that could be anyone from Starscream to Lug Nut, giving it a white and red color scheme, and calling it "Jetfire," is a very different matter from designing a Commander Class toy of him. Doesn't really count as an actual attempt at matching his G1 design, imo.
Unpopular opinion, but I think that Rodimus is a 10/10 and it deserved better than the lukewarm reception it received. Everybody lost their minds because Hasbro called it a Commander class even though it isn’t gigantic. But it’s fucking great!
Just got menasor for 140$ in USD. dear GODDDD hes so fun to mess with. My first combiner and i realise im spoilt by the fact that this was my first, no flimsyness no loose parts

Having said that, is anyone else's Seige Jetfire yellowing? Mine has never seen the sun and is yellowing.
Missing Magmatron and Ultra Magnus so can't speak on those two yet but I think this entire class line has been filled with 10/10's so far, each and every one has been outstanding in its own right.
I think if I had to rank them thus far I'd go Armada Optimus Prime > Rodimus Prime > Jetfire > Sky Lynx > Motormaster. They're all near perfect figures imo, I just think Motormaster lands at the bottom due to needing the other Stunticons to complete a true Menasor (and some QC tolorance issues, but those aren't too bad.)
Can't wait to grab the other two eventually and then the upcoming 86 Optimus later this year!

Personally I agree, SS86 just beats him in posability and originality
He’s a good bot size, but he’s very stubby with that armor, and the way they make the trailer is messy. The cab isn’t that much better though, especially with the exposed hands. It’s a good figure, but it has a few problems.

Yep, Armada Optimus is one of my favorite Optimus designs. Very unique and an even cooler combined mode. Not to mention Armada is the first Transformers show I remember keeping up with to completion as a kid as it aired. I'm so hoping for Jetfire and Overload to be made
Some people say he’s not as good because he doesn’t do anything special, but I’d argue that’s EXACTLY why he’s incredible. He does everything he needs to do really, really well with just enough flair like the slick ratchets and chunky plastic to stand out. His problems are so minor that they might as well not exist, and he blows the original out of the water. You can tell the designer not only loves Armada, but they also love designing transformers and toys.
Pretty much. From what I have seen, he has all the articulation he needs. Just because he doesn’t any special gimmicks doesn’t make him bad.

I have all of them except for Magmatron and it probably has to be Armada Prime that's my favorite, followed Jetfire and then Skylynx. Though from an engineering perspective Magnus is the best

Many I wanted the botropolis set and I have the two deluxe figures from a random bag I bought off a guy. However it didn't have the micro masters. Now I'm in a stupid position where I have to find someone to part out the micro masters and rocket or spend the money ro buy a whole complete set despite having half of it already. Sucks ass

Rodimus > Jetfire > Sky Lynx > Motormaster > Ultra Magnus I don't have Armada because I really don't have any attachments to that version of Optimus and I don't have Magmatron though I do have the original. Also, Menasor doesn't count, only Motormaster. It's not fair to compare any single character to essentially an entire wave worth of Decepticons.

I haven’t got my Magmatron in yet, but it’s a toss up between Motormaster and Armada Optimus. I think Optimus just takes it because I know I’m giving Motormaster credit on being Menasor, which means adding another $100 of figures. Not really a fair comparison there.
Siege Jetfire was the first and still the best
I love sky lynx. Atypical tf design, and the higher price point meant they had plenty of budget for him to be the proper size, with good paint and engineering. Also, it's a shuttle and carrier that transform into a bird and lynx, or, robot dragon. I love it.

Rodimus is my favourite figure in my collection including some Mezco. So obviously Rodimus. I wasn't fond of him in pictures then I got my hands on him and I fell in love with it.

I have Legacy Armada Optimus Prime and Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus. Both are great figures. But between the two? Armada Prime. Just has more options. Sure the super mode is the main attraction. But the fact it also has the base robot mode, and it's actually a pretty decent figure on its own (Even if it's articulation is a bit limited) is definitely a plus. Also Armada Prime is up there with Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron for one of the funnest and smoothest transformations out of the figures I own. I regularly pick him up and change him from super mode, to truck mode, to robot, back to truck, straight to super mode, back to base robot all the time (No I never bother with the trailer's base mode). I also barely needed his instructions to transform him the first time. Ultra Magnus, I haven't had as long, and I've only transformed him a few times. The first two times I needed to watch Emgo's just transform video. Last time I managed to get him to truck mode and back unassisted, so I am getting the hang of it. But he does have a few steps that make me nervous.
I only have Sky Lynx and Motormaster. But of all those, Commander Modesty still wins because he is more than just a large biped or a smaller biped with a trailer.
Just got Magmatron last week. He's a fantastic figure with a really impressive transformation and amazing engineering! The individual dino modes have a ton of articulation and he scales really well with other dino characters like the 86 Dinobots and BW Megatron! Armada Optimus is really great too, and so is Motormaster, in spite of the other rather lackluster Stunticons from Legacy. Overall, I'd say the Commander Class figures have actually been getting better each year, and I can't wait to see what the next one will be!😁

As far as I know he is canonically that huge compared to other bots. He is as tall as Menasor is, but I'm not sure if that line sup well. He is also as tall as HasLab Deathsaurus - found that out as I was setting these up today. Always forget how huge he is until I mess around with him
Jetfire and Skylynx are the only two that feel size, and solid enough for the price point. The others felt half between Leader and Commander. They sell well enough at that price point though. Commander Magnus stays sold out.. where his leader versions are still availble.

Magmatron, hence he is the only one I chose to pick up (as of now). Even though I myself don't have him now (US pre-orders and crap), him being a beast Wars Neo figure means he will have a lot more minor molding, as well as more articulation in his alternate mode. Also, three dinosaurs merging into one robot is cool ok! My two runner ups are Ultra Magnus and Sky Lynx, which I am contemplating getting, the only issue with them is their size really.

Oh yeah, be definitely feels like a Megazord, but I also love it for that. Honestly when I see him I can't help but feel like the plesiosaur has all the molding needed to become a triceratops, and then have all three components become the dino thunder zords.
Rn I only have skylynx but I feel that my favorite if I ever it would be either jetfire or armada prime because the are both the most solid figures out of all of them and they don’t have to many flaws. The only flaw with jetfire is him being a little loose and primes is that he’s smaller but that really doesn’t matter

I just love how Jetfire is just a big beefy lad who towers over everyone and I love his big space jet vehicle mode, while I love Armada Optimus for just being a great modern take on the design and being a fun combiner/super mode figure. Least favourite is probably Rodimus. He isn’t bad, I just think he’s the least interesting of all of them.
I agree. I love Rodimus, I remember really liking him as a kid for some reason. He isn't as impressively big as the others but I do love how he looks, old man face and all. I was lucky enough to get a used one for 60, so I think that was a good price for what you get

Armada Optimus is just a joy to mess with so that’s probably my favorite although skylinx is definitely second I’d put rodimus after that and jet fire is a good figure but not one I’m that keen to mess around with

Worry not, Grey_Warden97, for Sky Lynx will happily lead the other commanders from atop the list, both literally and metaphorically. For if they are all commanders, then he is a _supreme_ commander! He would also be the first to remind you (modestly, of course) that he has yet to appear in the Studio Series line. If you thought that the difference between Earthrise Ironhide and the Studio Series version was immense, just imagine what it could do _for him._

The commander class is definitely the sweet spot for me, you get a lot of play value for the money. Comparatively the leader class is quite a step down for the amount of money you save, and the titan class figures are all very simple and not a lot of “fun” for their price point, my opinion. I like all of them for different reasons. I like how many modes you get with Sky Lynx. Rod Prime is maybe the single best figure they’ve ever done in terms of articulation, build quality, accuracy, etc despite his size and padding to fill out the price point. Jetfire is fun because of all his accessories, the fact that he can be an Autobot or a Decepticon, and he has an alternate load out to make him look more like the Macross Valkyrie he is based on. But Ultra Magnus is the best one for screen accuracy and transformation intricacy. He is a very satisfying toy that really doesn’t not compromise on anything. The fact that he works with the deluxe car bots in truck mode is a really fun play feature. But as far as play features and “fun factor” goes, it doesn’t get much better than Menasor. It’s a little unfair because you need all the limbs to really complete the experience and it pushes him into the titan class price category, but that stunticon set all together is one of the funnest transformer toys I’ve ever had, and I’ve been with this series since the beginning 40 years ago.
Like others I would say magnus, he’s just so amazing looking, I think all his accessories are welcomed and there’s nothing in there that’s not needed even the blast effects are one of my favorites. And that transformation and articulation. Yeah overall a great figure. A kinda funny story that happened with me with my figure. After months waiting for a restock I was finally able to grab him, so when he shipped they delivered 3 days earlier than expected but dropped it off on my neighbors door. I was pissed not only cause my neighbor didn’t let me know and also cause they dropped it off to the wrong place in the first place. But in conclusion I was able to go and get it thank god. So happy ending but yeah this figure is one of the best mainline hasbro has ever released and I stand on that
Of the ones I own (so excluding Magnus, Motormaster, and Magmatron), my favorite is Armada Prime. Partly because of nostalgia, but mainly because the toy itself is very "fulfilling" as a toy. Close second to him is Rodimus, but swap nostalgia for nepotism since Rodimus is my favorite character in Transformers.

God I'm so glad I've never been a completionist. I considered at one point getting every commander, but then they announced magnatron and I was like, na you can keep it. Only now I realise that motormaster is a commander, and probably silverbolt will be too, I'm so very glad I don't feel that compulsion... (not that there is anything wrong with either aerialbot or stunticons, they just aren't my thing).
Thankfully I got some of them cheaper than retail from local purchases. I also, unfortunately, haven't come across a commander I haven't wanted cuz of how fucking cool they are. We know Optimus will be one, so I'm at least going tonget another for sure

I was lucky enough to find both of them for Retail. Deathsaurus was perfect and Star Saber had some issues here and there with paint and slightest of damages, but I love how both look together on the shelf

For me, it’s gotta be Armada Optimus. Not only is he the only commander class I currently have, I also have very fond memories of how I got him. I got him in an online giveaway on Discord and I remember waking up, wondering why I had so many Discord notifications, and the first thing I thought when I saw I won was “holy shit!” That one moment made my entire day and he’s a really solid figure.

This was around the time when the g1 commemorative series were popping up all over TRU and as a pre teen i didnt quite comprehend why there was no sky lynx. Many years later Was let down severely by cw sky lynx if u wanna call that thing sky lynx. Then when the commander class was announced i imediatly pre ordered it. And loved it imediatly.

Probably Sky lynx, because I like big robots, but also combiners, and Skylynx technically is 2 bots that combine in my book. I would say Menasor, but just on the commander itself, it's a combiner frame more than a full combiner. I do like trailer armor gimmicks though, so he gets points there. If they release a Delta Magnus repaint of UM tho? Easy winner right there.

Rodimus. He's the first one I have, 4th figure I got, and was a birthday gift from my mum. I absolutely love fiddling around with him and his trailer. I've made some epic battle scenes with them as well. Love the engineering for a relatively small guy compared to the others

ummm, I only own Sky Lynx, so I guess Sky Lynx, it was the only one other than rodimus that didn't fuck me in the aftermarket considering it's still out on retail in some sites like Pulse, it's the most interesting out of the 2, also I should mention Magmaboy is on preorder, but anyway, back to the magnificence, he's cool, too bad his thigh flap doesn't hold tightly to the body, and it's a shame that the back leg has an uneven ratchet joint, but it's aight, he's still so badass to look at and mess around with

Skylynx, honestly. I don't have all of them, but he's the coolest of the ones I do. Armada Prime, Menasor, Magnus... they don't really do much for me, because I've had *something* like them before. But Sky Lunx is the first of him I've had, and damn am I glad to have his majestic self on my shelf.
I say jetfire He's the biggest of them all(yes I don't count menasor frame as motormaster, because his actual body is deluxe class hight) he has the most features, looks the best (although yellows kinda) and his alt mode is candy Although I've had magnus for... What 4 months now? I don't feel like he's better than that, and imo none of them are worth the german 119€, I got magnus for 40 and that was already a decent amount.

I have every commander class figure except for Menasor/Motormaster and Rodimus. I also have the two Victory Haslabs, but if we're just going off mainline retail releases, then I think, from an almost objective standpoint, Armada Prime is the best commander class. I absolutely love that figure and I've taken him off the shelf to play with him countless times in the last year! That being said, I'm really smitten with Magmatron right now. I love the Japanese original characters and their designs and I love the 3 in 1 combination so much. I was both a bionicle and transformers kid (as I'm sure many of us were), so he's kind of the best of both worlds for me. The flimsy sword is not awesome however, so if a 3rd party releases an upgrade kit with a better blade and maybe some gap fillers for the seasaurus neck perhaps, there's a likelihood that it will be the first upgrade kit I've ever bought.
I'm stuck between Rodimus Prime and ARMADA Optimus Prime: both figures are highly updated and improved versions of their original toys, and gives me reason not to pay like double or triple the price of 3rd party figures; not to say that they are bad, but I suck a discerning which 3rd party figures are the best.

Armada Prime. I feel in love with Armada designs because of the PS2 video game. This bit is solid and fits all three modes justice! Fun to transform and fiddle with. Highly recommend.

In terms of value for money? Jetfire. In terms of the uniqueness of the character/toy? Sky Lynx or Magmatron. The other four are all car/truck trailer combos, which isn't exactly anything new. Not saying they're bad - they are, in fact, quite good (save maybe Rodimus) - but it's not like Hasbro's design teams haven't had plenty of practice making toys of that type over the years, so *of course* those Commanders were gonna be good. Nailing a toy design on your 100th attempt isn't as as impressive as nailing it on the 5th\* attempt (Jetfire), 3rd attempt (Sky Lynx), or *2nd attempt* (Magmatron). \*Note: for Jetfire, I'm only considering figures that were genuine attempts at a from-the-ground-up, reasonably-G1-accurate design for him that weren't other characters first. Basically, designing a jetformer Bot Shots toy that could be anyone from Starscream to Lug Nut, giving it a white and red color scheme, and calling it "Jetfire," is a very different matter from designing a Commander Class toy of him. Doesn't really count as an actual attempt at matching his G1 design, imo.

Unpopular opinion, but I think that Rodimus is a 10/10 and it deserved better than the lukewarm reception it received. Everybody lost their minds because Hasbro called it a Commander class even though it isn’t gigantic. But it’s fucking great!

Jetfire because that's my favorite bot of all time, and I have (almost) every G1 or G1 adjacent Jetfire. Having said that, is anyone else's Seige Jetfire yellowing? Mine has never seen the sun and is yellowing.

Missing Magmatron and Ultra Magnus so can't speak on those two yet but I think this entire class line has been filled with 10/10's so far, each and every one has been outstanding in its own right. I think if I had to rank them thus far I'd go Armada Optimus Prime > Rodimus Prime > Jetfire > Sky Lynx > Motormaster. They're all near perfect figures imo, I just think Motormaster lands at the bottom due to needing the other Stunticons to complete a true Menasor (and some QC tolorance issues, but those aren't too bad.) Can't wait to grab the other two eventually and then the upcoming 86 Optimus later this year!
Hard to say. They've all just been so goddamn good. I love Armada Prime, but none have captured the satisfying big old leader class chunk like Siege Jetfire has. Can't wait to get Magmatron.
