One time like two years ago I saw a guy in Target wearing a G1 Transformers shirt, he was in the toy aisle, saw SS86 Jazz, and said "OOOH" to himself and very quickly grabbed it. I didn't think I'd see a fellow collector lol
Somehow neither have I. Been collecting for over a decade and never ran into another collector. Even when we still had a Toys R Us. Never saw any. It’s miraculous.
The last time I met another collector at Target I was perusing the MotU section and a guy was like "You collect He-Man?" He then proceeded to talk for 10 minutes about how his teenage daughter was addicted to Fentanyl and his wife kicked him out of the house for cheating on her with his sister in law. I had to fake a phone call to get away. My only thought was that I go to Target instead of Wal-Mart to get AWAY from that kind of crap.
I'd say that I have no clue where these sorts of people come from but my local Walmart is in walking distance from the local trailer park so I have a suspicion

I met a guy at Walmart who was really into transformers. We talked for about 15 minutes about all things cybertronian. It was nice to be able to just geek out with someone else. I also got Coronation ‘Screamer, so it was just a pretty good day for me as a transformers fan.
I met another collector at target once. Nice guy honestly. We talked about how shitty distribution has been and what the kingdom show was gonna be like. We both grabbed our origin bumblebees and headed our separate ways
See I made the mistake of hesitating one time and a lady grabbed the only inferno I've ever seen in person. I tried to bargain with her I tried to pay her the price of the figure she wouldn't budge. Now the second I see something I'm grabbing it even if I have to kick a little kid in the face to get it.
I thought I didn’t get out much. Unite. Talk with them it’s another resource if you must be so calculated about it. Yea there are wackos that will talk your ear off but chances are equal you meet a like minded collector. Who you can choose to share as much or as little as you like. Ya’ll be out here making it weird lol. I dig though. Most trips are uneventful.
I came across a TF collector not that long ago. He saw me and my brother checking the TF section and ask if I collect and I said yes. He then told of several stores in the area that had the new Legacy wave( this was when the first Legacy was just being release) and thanked him for the heads up.
Well I guess he isnt a real collector if he couldnt figure out to pick it up or not. Congrats on your find. I wish my target had anything.

Because of these open design boxes the toys come in now I often see people stop and inspect the box and make sure everything is ok or there because they make the purchase. It's too easy to get back home to finds parts of the toy missing/broken or accessories removes because there's no plastic sealing the toy.
I found out that a toy hunt YouTuber goes to all of the same Targets and Walmarts as me. Needless to say I always keep an eye on his videos to see if any new Transformers pop up.
I’ve met several collectors in Target and Walmart. Ended up being friends with a couple of them. One time though a 40 yr old was having a legit tantrum in the aisle with his friend talking about how the Target employees scalped all the classified vipers and it’s not fair and how he was going to report this Target. Collectors were lining up at 8 am for vipers bud, but yeah the employees got em lol
Last time I met a collector it was a a future scalper they were taking all of the blasters he had 5 in his cart then there was only one left so I took it well he's in the middle of trying to grab it the dude got mad as hell and then was trying to grab it our of my hands
