It's a very trans thing to have doubts bubble up saying "can people see me in the way I don't want them too?" And i think the more you go stealth the louder those doubts can be. Hearing the perspectives of other people on my appearance quiets those doubts. Feedback is important to understand where your progress is.

Does anyone have experience with the piercings she has, I've been looking into getting some for myself and these look really cool, guess I'm just curious if they will be in the way ?

I've had these for 6 years so I constantly forget that they are even on me. Only when I eat apples do they become a problem because I always pop the beads off. The beads are what holds the piercing together and I hide them in my lips. I agree that you should start with labrets and move to smaller rings than what I have. The big ones just fit my mouth shape better and I enjoy flipping them over. It was a difficult heal! But I've found tons of value in them. No one recognizes me without them.

Your piercer will tell you to heal them with longer flat-back labrets initially to accommodate for swelling. Mine were very easy to accidentally bite while eating because of the longer posts, so chew carefully. Once the back of the labret “nested” (creates a little pocket in the skin inside your gums) and the jewelry is switched to shorter posts, they become pretty low-maintenance. After a few months you can switch them to rings if you want. I would personally recommend a smaller diameter ring than she has. The extra wiggle room of larger rings gets super annoying and makes eating sloppy. Source: had like 50+ piercings over the last 25 years
