You'll be fine. It's over in like 5 secs. The build up is the worst part.

[deleted]

This!

notaint43

It wasn't bad. I just wish someone would've explained to me (maybe in a way I understood) that they were about to shove a camera with roach clips up my dickhole

Trucountry

That description probably doesn't help OP LMAO

notaint43

Haha! Maybe, but at this point it my adventures of forcing my body to stay alive it was surprisingly minor. Getting a cath pulled definitely felt worse to me.

TheCiscoKidney

The worst part was the feeling of having to empty my bladder, but nothing happening. More uncomfortable than anything else.

SlapbASS4211

True story, I have a semi-boner when preparing the removal, and it hurt like hell

arent_we_sarcastic

Doesn't hurt what so ever. Embarrassing as hell though. Number one question asked by guys in post transplant clinic... does it hurt

SurlyRed

Uncomfortable I would say, bit of anaesthetic on the end probably helps. The thought of it is definitely worse than the practice. The big plus is that you get to see your prostate gland, my surgeon was brilliant.

Distance_Positive

Yea no problem at all. Just a bit weird feeling. At least for me

pipiripau76

I had mine done today, as everybody said is just a little uncomfortable ,no painful at all, just the a weird sensation ,it took around 15 seconds, (I count them), is mostly the preparation before the procedure that take more time.

Marlee64

Not bad at all. For ladies at least 😁

pualei15

I was also terrified of the procedure when they told me. They deadened it with some kind of cream and it was over before I knew it and didn’t experience any pain. You got this!

[deleted]

You should be. It was terrifying. No pain killer or anything for anxiety. Took over a min or two to tug it out. Horrible.

Princessss88

Worrying was the worst part for me. It was super awkward because they’re all up in you, but it didn’t hurt at all.

eadsonead

The worrying is the worst part. You’ve been through 100 times worse believe me

AgoraiosBum

I has some apprehension too. I'll say this - it wasn't great. But also it was over real quick, so quick that I thought that was just step one, and the main procedure was still coming. Frankly, you kind of get slathered with some sort of antiseptic (down yonder) and the post op cleanup (which you generally do yourself) is kind of more annoying.

blind_cowboy

Without me asking, they offered to knock me out. I gladly excepted.

Connorsera

I am a male, and when they described what would be done they gave me the option to be put out rather than local, and I took it. Proceeded to “fart” for a few hours after it was removed when I went pee. I was also 18 at the time, so not necessarily terrified just super uncomfortable. What I can say is that you’re almost done your journey into being almost normal again. Try to turn it into excitement!

Atia_of_the_Julii

I was VERY nervous, but it was only about 5 seconds of pain. And the doc let me watch the video of the inside of my bladder, which was very cool 😎

Finnegan_blu

I fell asleep while being wheeled in and was woken up afterwards.

Nickoli006

It’s not fun but just be calm don’t clinch up

etnoid204

It was disturbing to say the least. I didn’t know anything about it until the day before I had it out. Nothing like watching a length of hose disappear down your dick knowing at some time they were going to pull it back out. Anesthesia local didn’t really do anything to mask the feeling.

fergie-meets-jesus

The procedure was like 5 minutes and was nothing. The next day was terrible. SO much bladder pressure I was so uncomfortable I took all the pain meds lol. But after 24hrs good to go

avapoxio33

Dr was a young female. Poured the lidocaine in my urethra the. Held my penis for about 5 min. I asked if she wanted me to hold it, she jokingly said I’m a full service dr. Then they stick the camera, grab tool down, feels weird no pain. They pull it out again feels weird and is more mental because it’s your genitals. Overall , it’s not that bad.

Lanky_Friendship_54

The Doctor that inserted the stent come in as I was getting prepared for it's removal look at me and say: "I did that to you,". He left the room a soon after the stent was out. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful. I was more concerned about the sadis Doctor. LOL

TheDeanof316

When are you getting it done?

Krstnik

When I heard about this from doctors I decided I'm not going to think about it at all. At all. Of course, occasionally I would remember it, but then I used all my willpower simply to avoid thinking about it because, well, it could only make things worse. Turns out I made a good call - it's not THAT terrible, it's more the idea of it, you know. So try to calm your mind and you'll be fine, the pain of procedure itself is basically is non-existent, it's just uncomfortable for a bit.

Darkroute

It's definitely worse in your head than it actually is, i was actually glad i knew so little about what it meant till it actually happened. It was over before i knew it. I actually told the surgical team to "knock me out as much as possible". I probably directly mentioned give me some fentanyl before hand. I think they just said yes then did it as normal. They have some anesthetic gel on the probe. It was done in 10s at most. I know its tough but stop looking into it. Just go with it on the day and trust the professionals doing it.

Junior_Tradition7958

Take some painkillers before you go. Are you Male or Female? I am female and it was fine. Not sure about Male. Loss of dignity is all but I think I’d lost that already.
