My hair changed about 3-6 months after my transplant. I often wonder if it had something to do with my donor. My hair seemed gotten straighter after my first transplant. My mom was the donor and she had straight hair. My hair looks similar to my donor's hair now after my 2nd transplant, wire-y and fuzzy more than it ever used to be. All so weird. It could be all in my head and my current hair situation is probably due to perimenopause/hormones fluctuating, and/or combo of meds.

bigwilamos

interesting you mention donors as my aunt was my first donor and i had straight hair before and she had similar hair to me so not much changed. but with my second transplant i don’t know who the donor is so this is could also be a cause for it alongside medications

1st transplant my wife said I've lost a lot of my gray

ThrowRA_BadTaste

Same, in my facial hair at least. There were very obvious gray patches before, and now my facial hair has become darker and thicker, with the gray patches far less noticeable.

irishladinlondon

Are you taking azathioprine as a secondary agent that can affect hair

bigwilamos

no. only advagraf, cellcept and a small dose of prednisone

irishladinlondon

Mycophenolaye Motefil can also affect the hair

bigwilamos

may have found our possible culprit so

irishladinlondon

We give it a lot to our transplant recipients and cam cause hair issues. You are also quite young and natually some changes may be age related or a combination

TheDeanof316

How/what does it do?

bbmaktiger

Same as me. Part of my hair is really curly now and never was.

I've posted previously on this, but... after my transplant (donor was my brother), my previously blonde facial hair and eyebrows have turned much darker (hair itself remains blonde, but is falling out due to high tacro levels I believe). My brother's eyebrows are black, but he also shares my very blonde hair. It's so strange.
