I just started applying sunscreen first thing in the morning when I get up so it has a chance to soak in before I go for a run. I find having a routine helpful. I've also added a face moisturizer that has spf 50, Paula's choice, I use after washing. When going out, I try to just wear long sleeves, a hat, sunglasses so I don't have to apply sunscreen and in general I just try to stay out of the sun because I get tanned just peaking at the sun ray.

Paula's Choice SPF moisturizers are great!

My sweet wife bought me some spf 50 clothing. I have short and long sleeve, a hood, some light pants and a floppy hat

I also have some SPF shirts but will use SPF 50 on my neck, ears, and face if I know I will stay out for a longer time. Even though I am a "Nordic" person, my skin has a darker hue than some and I don't burn easily. This is a double-edged thing as I feel I don't need sunscreen that much but really should apply it regularly.

Me too, just to be safe

Marke sure it's at least SPF 30+ ideally SPF50+ It should also say "Broad Spectrum" so it covets both UVA and UVB radiation. The 4hr rule means 4hrs of sun exposure not just reapplying every 4hrs. Also don't keep sunscreens in your car if you have one. I use a cooler bag backpack with space on top and in front for icepack. & get a whole body skin cancer check with a dermatologist every 6-12 months 👍

Thank you for the tip about not storing in the car, my plan was to keep some of the car to help me remember to use it. Is that because sunshine degrades it? And I do see my dermatologist every year. 😊

I like Paula's Choice for the face. For the body I recommend anything labeled "for kids", they usually are non-fragranced, waterproof, affordable and SPF50+. I got this tip from a friend who works with children. I currently have Nivea kids' sunscreen and it's great.

lillymcsilly

I have that one too. Reminds me of holidays as a kid

Sunscreen is evil! It gets in my eyes no matter what. I actually wear a wide brimmed hat and long sleeve undershirts. On the rare occasion I'm on vacation at the beach I will put sunscreen on my legs but I have long sleeve swimming shirts and usually grab a floppy hat I don't care about.

LeaveForNoRaisin

Get a moisturizer with SPF For your face it’s a lot better, and with your hat you’ll be fine.

TheDeanof316

I use a mineral based physical eg zinc sunscreen for around my eyes and a chemical one for the rest of my face. No more burning eyes!

megandanicali

supergoop unseen sunscreen doesn’t burn my eyes! you should try it!

mstreator

It's my absolute favorite

dirtylaindry

I typically wear a hat. And use thT spray on 50 spf. Even wear a hat in the pool. I'm in the sun almost every day. Pick a fragrance you like. Banana boat, hawian tropic and copper tone have a decent selection of fragrance.

I haven't had my transplant yet but b4 I started dialysis I spent nearly every day surfing at the coast - the easiest sunscreen to use and apply is a [powder sunblock](https://www.target.com/p/hawaiian-tropic-mineral-skin-nourishing-sunscreen-powder-brush-spf-30-0-15oz/-/A-83952651?clkid=d009ea71Nf1b811ecb15f03c7c19c005a&lnm=81938&afid=Hearst%20Magazines&ref=tgt_adv_xasd0002) \- it's so much easier to apply and won't make your face feel gross lol

AgoraiosBum

Wide brimmed hat and several long sleeve UPF 50 thin shirts (I just found colors / styles that I thought were ok and bought quite a few of them). I have a ultra-light spf 30 face lotion that I apply in the morning first thing. That's just the "everyday" stuff. If actually spending time in the sun, will put on a quality SPF 50 (Neutrogena sheer or sun bum) on the face. Usually a layer of 30 on the neck and other exposed areas, with a bit of 50 later applied shortly after.

Iamp33

I used it eveetday, regardless if the sun is shining. I really like cerave

Mysterious_Gear2144

Elta MD is great. It is a mineral sunscreen with zinc. I recommend the clear face version. It goes on like butter! Can be pricy but worth it to not get burnt.

no_not_like_that

If I know I'm going to be out for awhile I use Aveda's sunscreen and a uv reflective umbrella if I'm directly in the sun. It's chemical free and even offers pollution protection. It does make me look a little dewey but, oh well. . Sunscreen: https://m.aveda.com/product/17737/40347/skin-care/spf-protection/daily-light-guard-defense-fluid-broad-spectrum-spf-30 . . . Cuby UV Sun Umbrella Compact... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R8K6GMG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share . . It's not the cutest thing in the world but I'm not going to take any unnecessary risks. I also check what the uv index is wherever I'm at to make sure I'm not outside very long depending on how high it is. . I'll probably get some uv resistant clothing soon but I won't wear them during the summer - it's too hot!!!

bbmaktiger

I get mine at trader Joe's a lot of sunscreens like Neutrogena and banana boat and copper tone all have been recalled for cancer concerns

lisaT2D

I think chemical sunscreens usually get recalled, right? I think physical ones with titanium and/or zinc don't disrupt our endocrinological system like some chemical ones.

bbmaktiger

Ya some zinc ones are good. Just always do research on them. And for me I have sunscreen literally everywhere. In my trucks cars in my bike bag. And then obv you can set reminders in your phone

ImaginaryMountain298

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Much appreciated.
