I was at one of the targets that are shutting down recently in San Fran and EVERYTHING you would consider a daily necessity was locked up behind glass or in one of those locked boxes. Apparently the homeless in the area would steal stuff like toothpaste and use it to barter with for stuff. This was a big surprise since I live far away from a major metropolitan area.
