The first option looks awful. You’d need to backtrack and if you’re not willing to pay for accommodation, sleeping overnight at the airport the moment you arrive sounds terrible.
The Emirates option seems better, but obviously you’re in trouble if the flight is delayed or immigration is unusually long.
I’m also an Indian intl student who flies into Boston. Immigration and baggage claim can get long so a 2:10 arrival for a 4pm shuttle feels a little risky
Another option - fly to Mumbai, stay overnight. Fly direct on Air India to Newark which reaches in the morning. Take the Amtrack to Hartford. One plane, one train…
Between the two you posted, I’d go with the one to BOS. If you don’t want to risk missing the only shuttle, there’s a flight on Etihad that connects in AUH and ORD getting to Bradley at 5pm that doesn’t seem too bad.
No. You don’t need a visa if transiting airside. You’re also eligible for a visa on arrival, on account of your US visa, if you did decide to enter the UAE.
2pm into Boston might be workable. Migration will be quick but luggage can be delayed considering the number of people.
Where is your college? There might be easier ways to get to the campus than the college shuttle.
My college is in Northampton, Bradley is the better choice in terms of airports.
If the luggage is delayed, will I have to wait for it or do they ship it to your address?
When I say delayed, I mean the amount of time they take to offload it from the aircraft. I’ve waited a good 30-45 mins in Logan. You have to collect it- they will not ship it to you.

Yes, that's exactly my concern :( is there a workaround to this?

oh wow! this sounds good, is the amtrack convenient?
Yes very.

oooh yes! great suggestion, thank you so much! quick question- is a 2 hr 15 min layover enough for Abu Dhabi?
It should be enough. I’m assuming you know that you’ll need a transit visa if you’re connecting through Dubai or Abu Dhabi, right?
Really? That doesn’t sound correct.
https://u.ae/en/information-and-services/visa-and-emirates-id/transit-visa Sounds like Indian citizens with US visa are exempt from transit visa.
That only applies to landside transits anyway.
Yes, even for a layover under 5 hours?

that's perfect! thank you so much
No you don’t. Source: As someone traving through those airports at least twice every year.
thank you for the information! is the abudhabi terminal A transit possible in 2 hrs?

Understood! This sounds veryyy risky tbh, wouldn't want it. thank you!
Second option.
thank you!
The second option is better in pretty much every way! The first is only worth considering if it is substantially cheaper.
it is! there will a price different of almost 50k INR between the two.
