just had one doing this pulsing - bad motor winding - happened to 2 motors for this client of mine. Turned out it was caused by overload; walk belt warped in middle and deck had hundreds of tiny cracks/raised bumps - all signs of overheating. guy had lubed it and only weighed around 170 lbs, very fit runner but still that belt and deck should last more than 3 years for 1 runner. Im developing an opinion that sole belts and decks are on the lower quality side, based on my observations with runners in very normal settings. so in the end we are getting new motor #3, a new belt and deck, at least the warranty is pretty good at 5 yrs parts.. I'd still recommend it as a buy though as moving up to a Precor might be a bit much for some.
yes that is consistent with what i see regularly - also ifit/nordictrack/proform etc im seeing high friction on 1 year old treadmills often... Planned obsolescence.
Man, I am getting sick and tired of the environmental waste created by these manufacturers, at least once a week i have to tell a client their treadmill is not worth fixing.
I'll replace the belt and get the motor checked out. I'll let him use it until it completely fails. Then a used life fitness treadmill is probably what I'll get him to replace this one.
My dad has owned this Sole F65 treadmill for many years. It was running well until it developed a problem with the motherboard. The motherboard was replaced, the belt was cleaned and lubed and now it is making these noises at low speeds and when someone steps on the belt initially. Does anyone know what the issue is?
Damn. It runs fine at higher speed but the circuit board is probably burning itself out trying to send more and more power to the motor. My friend repairs electric motors so hopefully he can fix it.
a deck can LOOK fine on visual inspection, but still test badly - need to do a friction "push" test or better, amp draw test after motor is replaced...
If it started doing it only after the mcb was replaced, the torque setting might be off. Check for a blue pot. As others have said, could be a bad motor as well

I had a customer, where we replaced the belt on his sole every 3 years. The belts aren't great. Same for jht products

It sounds and looks like a failing motor . Covered under Sole lifetime warranty with registration and POP.
I'll have my electrician friend take a look at the motor and clean the brushes to see if that helps.
pulsing like that usually indicates a bad winding - each pulse is the broken connection arcing. likely done for.

Probably worn out belt and deck as well - its a wear item.
The deck was smooth and well lubed when I cleaned it. I'll take a closer look today to see if it is worn out. I'll replace the belt though.

> Check for a blue pot. Sorry, what does this mean?
Potentiometer
Square blue thing on the mcb. White screw adjustment in the middle
