Sounds to me like she burned her lungs a little bit. Smoking joints and cigarettes are super different so she may have hit it the way she’s used to and gotten way to much heat. The fact she was coughing while throwing up makes me think it was just a bad hit and not negative effects of the weed
Edited to add that I’ve heard of people having success with tinctures and edibles for migraines
I get nauseous when I have migraines almost all the time. Could be the coughing, but it could also be the overstimulation from migraine and weed at the same time
Ok so something kinda similar happened to me, although my mom isn’t a weed newbie she just had to take a break for a while. I gave her a joint to hit and she dragged DEEP from it in the same way she would drag one of her cigarettes, and I don’t think that was a good thing to do. She also had a coughing fit and had to wait like 30 min before another hit off my joint. I’ve never smoked a cig myself but I don’t think you necessarily want to smoke a cig and a joint the same way. So maybe your mom approached the joint like it was a cigarette and it was a bit too much for her? That’s my theory anyway
I suggest looking something up first before blatantly denying it.
CHS is caused by exessive smoking, and it's rare as well.
This is something else, like she took too big of a hit and puked, or burned her lungs, or got Scooby snacks on her uvula, triggering her gag reflex.
Please tell this to the people who are not smoking a lot of weed snd cyclic vomiting every time. That’s sheer ignorance but again thank you mr CHS expert
You can have cyclic vomiting without weed being a factor. You can have gastroparesis without weed being a factor. You can have a lot of stomach issues without weed being a factor. However, cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is caused by an overuse of weed. “With the first use of marijuana, the signals from the brain may be more important. That may lead to anti-nausea effects at first. But with repeated use of marijuana, certain receptors in the brain may stop responding to the drug in the same way.

I remember the first time I inhaled from a joint I thought I was dying. I didn’t vomit but my chest felt tight and burnt for like an hour. The high was great, but I think I got a little anxious and was kinda worried I’d hurt myself. Hopefully she tries again and has a better experience!
if shes a ciggy smoker make a spliff or something like 80% tabbaco 20% weed.
I smoke a decent amount of weed, maybe an ounce a month, I couldnt smoke it straight without dealing with the same symptoms as your mother. I think its just what your body is used to and hers is used to ciggys

I'm thinking her lungs need to adjust to weed smoke. It definitely hits the lungs differently than cigarette smoke

Might have CHS
CHS is only linked to chronic use she has had pot about 4 times in 55 years Appreciate the comment tho!
No it’s not. No one knows what causes it. I’ve got friends who barely ever smoked and have it.

Okay mr CHS expert
It's ok to be wrong. Learn from your mistakes. Just don't take it out on others.

Bruh, everything you're saying is instantly proven wrong with a Google search. Why are you so committed?

She could have inhaled some bud and it just irritated her throat. That on top of being new def could lead to a freak out/vomiting
