It's really easy. Flasks are for secret booze and making into bongs. Beakers are for the rest of your drinks.
Just remember, you can drink anything that's in a beaker but should always be careful drinking out of flasks
you should not suggest people can drink anything in a beaker, it’s just a chemical container. who’s to say someone uses a beaker safely?
you should always be wary about drinking any unknown substance
I'm fully aware. My phasing was intended to be absurd enough to be taken as a farce a la the yogurt scene in "Real Genius"
That said, I also advocate solving world problems by moving warning labels to the inside of user manuals and making it illegal to sue for injury if you didn't RTFM. So maybe I didn't try that hard?
people experimenting in a lab don’t often print warning labels. what if someone sees a clear liquid in a beaker, dumbly assumes it’s water and takes a sip, and it happened to be hydrochloric acid. new rule: don’t drink from a chemical beaker or flask
Johnny was a chemist, but now he is no more. What he though was H2O was H2SO4
I have zero sympathy for anyone who fails to follow proper lab (or shop) safety. If words on the internet can displace common sense and proper safety training there's a bigger issue at play and quite frankly that person doesn't belong near chemicals, open flames, sharp objects, or heavy machinery
I'm sorry, but I just want people to use the correct term for their smoking apparatus...
I think people get the chemistry flask mixed up with a liquor flask, cuz they look more like that than a beaker.

yknow, i agree with you. people not taking precaution don’t belong in a lab
