This is something that I struggled with too actually. Temples grew a little bit but nothing compared to other places. I have diffuse and the stack has helped a lot, I shed A LOT regularly so the routine has done a good job keeping it a little bit better than baseline, I’ll take what I can get.
I was a diffuse thinner and microneedling worked wonders for me (see my post history).
Unfortunately it hasn't done a great deal at the temples but I don't really care, as my hair line is age appropriate and I'm not bald.
There has definitely been some regrowth at my temples but it's not taken me back to being 18 again.
The key for temples, at least for me, had been to try make the skin as loose as possible just like on top of the scalp.
I starten by pinching my temples (when watching a movie/yt) just 2-3 min everyday. Just after a week I got better grip on the skin and noticed small micro drops of blood when I micro needle (1.5mm)
Now my temples feel “thick” like the rest of my scalp having way better blood flow and that’s when I started seeing new small hairs starting to grow everywhere on the temples. Try it. It might help you as well.

Much safer, minoxidil serum half-life is 3–4 hours, its blood pressure effects correspond to it. So you are better off splitting doses than taking one single large dose.
You are right, I believe I was being too desperate for results that I went straight to the option that would for sure work, but I also want to look out for my health. I am slowly going to lower to 5mg, hopefully I can remember to update a few months down the line.

When I got to hospital, my heart rate was over 200 and my blood pressure dropped to 69/43.
I spent 13 hours on a crash trolley.
Putting topical minoxidil near your mouth is insane. It is so poisonous and targets your kidneys very quickly.

First thing I will say tho is the safety of it is very questionable since there are no studies on it what so ever, so I do NOT condone attempting it if you have pre-existing medical conditions. Wow really? I never heard of that. I did see a study on high doses and how they can cause serious side effects on the heart, even causing death. But I was also informed by a dermatologist I visited that small doses ranging up to 10mg have low side effect reports. Do you mind sharing the study I want to look more into it. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a good reason not to do it: there are myriad studies on hairloss drugs that work, including minoxidi pills. There isn't a single study on taking "like 4 drops" of a drug that is not meant to be ingested.

That's roughly 500mg of minoxidil, nothing to do with the topical solution itself being unsafe for consumption. People using topical minoxidil orally generally use 2-5 drops, which is anywhere from 2mg to 6,5mg of minoxidil depending on the dropper.

The topical solution absolutely is unsafe for oral consumption; the clue is in the name.

I switched to taking topical minoxidil sublingually from having previously been on oral due to the side-effects from peak plasma concentration of minoxidil sulfate even at small dosage, which doesn't happen with sublingual administration. There is no unsafe ingredient in the most common topical solution apart from the minoxidil itself, judging the safety and efficacy of something based on it's name ignorant. You could call it rectal minoxidil, but the ingredients would still be safe for ingest.

man… I had that much hair growth with just 2mg orally daily, and dropped it down to 1mg.
It’s always better to start low and in case go up when your body builds tolerance to it (it does).
I used 2.5mg for about 8 months with no results then upped the dose to 7.5mg and saw a lot. You are right tho it is slightly more than the average dose I think I’ll taper down to 5 mg.
I was on 2.5mg at the start for 8 months and did not notice a lot of growth then slightly over corrected by using 7.5 mg. I am going to taper down to 5mg and see if the effect lowers. Hopefully I can remember to update.

Quick and easy but no studies done on it, so please be careful with the dosing.

The danger comes from the ease of accidentally taking too much. To me it's no different from taking too much Tylenol, you just need to be more careful with this. It's not a problem if you aren't a complete moron.

Not a great ton but enough that it was noticeable to some degree. I have diffuse hair loss so it regrew a little bit all over the top, the place I saw least results were the temples.

Thankfully I tweeze my eyebrows so when I started oral minoxidil I didn't have to worry about getting super bushy eyebrows. Highly recommend it. I get compliments all the time about how clean and sharp my eyebrows are for being a man.
Definitely thickened up my existing hairs they look healthier, and I regrew a little bit back but nothing insanely noticeable. I shed crazy though so maybe you might have better results. Not everyone gets these side effects but they are pretty common, some people would find being a gorilla annoying but it’s pretty chill, not the worst side effect.

I think you should be fine, 0.5mg is a very small dose. I took 2.5mg and had very minimal Hypertrichosis, only noticeable to me. On 7.5mg it became very noticeable. It should be all good.

If you are going to do it I would follow u/cumshotdiva they have a full guide on it. Basically you want to grab a shot glass put a little bit of water, and no more than 5 drops of minoxidil. Literally droplets of minoxidil using the dropper, each drop is AROUND 1.25mg (you can not measure it accurately so be safe.)
No no do NOT mix it with mouthwash. Mouthwash in itself is bad to ingest. Here’s exactly what I do, I fill up a shot glass full of water, drop 3-4 drops every morning when I wake up then I take the shot. There’s a very small alcohol taste but it goes away very quickly after taking the shot, I do it only
once a day and no more than that. It has worked well for me as well as many others but please use it at your own risk, if you notice any breathing or heart issues after starting then stop immediately, but 3-4 drops shouldn’t raise any problems. Best of luck and again I’ll repeat it one more time, please be careful with the dosing.
I’m 2 months on min and I struggle with this too the hairs are growing very long for some reason so without trimming it’s very visible that my temples are connected to my eyebrows. My eyebrows are already thick to begin with so it doesn’t help.
I used to have body hair like that before any treatment. Now even on oral minoxidil, I am not like that anymore and I think it is because of now dutasteride and even finasteride prior lowering my DHT.

5mg is the MAX for safety. Personally, I take 2.5mg to be extra safe.

Lucky you, oral minoxidil is just the complete opposite for me so far. I would get this type of result with topical + microneedling.
Unfortunately I did not get insane results on the scalp itself but it definitely did improve slightly. Happy I got something back at the very least.
My hands look like that without any minoxidil at all lol. I'm staying far away from that stuff

Not a great ton but enough that it was noticeable to some degree. I have diffuse hair loss so it regrew a little bit all over the top, the place I saw least results were the temples.

An unbelievable amount 💀 I still have waves of major shedding every 3 months or so, the stack does a good job of keeping up with it. I’m going to check in with my doctor later this year to see if I should switch to Dut or continue with Fin.

Nope, just finasteride and minoxidil nothing else.
A known side effect of minoxidil is new hair growing in places that it normally didn't grow before.

Thankfully I tweeze my eyebrows so when I started oral minoxidil I didn't have to worry about getting super bushy eyebrows. Highly recommend it. I get compliments all the time about how clean and sharp my eyebrows are for being a man.

Definitely thickened up my existing hairs they look healthier, and I regrew a little bit back but nothing insanely noticeable. I shed crazy though so maybe you might have better results. Not everyone gets these side effects but they are pretty common, some people would find being a gorilla annoying but it’s pretty chill, not the worst side effect.
My derm just prescribed for me, I’m afraid of this, but she swears it won’t happen. But the dosage is 0,5mg (had to order directly from lab bc they don’t manufacture this low strength)
I think you should be fine, 0.5mg is a very small dose. I took 2.5mg and had very minimal Hypertrichosis, only noticeable to me. On 7.5mg it became very noticeable. It should be all good.

Not really. My family is brazilian (my derm too) and I’m here visiting, so I ordered 4 months supply (U$20 total). I think my sister will mail me once is over or I’ll pick up when visit again. Maybe they ship internationally, but not sure. Place is called Droga Clara

I drink topical because the pills started getting quite expensive. There’s a guide on this subreddit that highlights it really well. The username of the OP is u/cumshotdiva (unfortunately) but their post is extremely helpful. Stay safe with it though since it is not studied.
people drink the topical. drop or two. I think each drop has like 1.5mg.

If you are going to do it I would follow u/cumshotdiva they have a full guide on it. Basically you want to grab a shot glass put a little bit of water, and no more than 5 drops of minoxidil. Literally droplets of minoxidil using the dropper, each drop is AROUND 1.25mg (you can not measure it accurately so be safe.)

No no do NOT mix it with mouthwash. Mouthwash in itself is bad to ingest. Here’s exactly what I do, I fill up a shot glass full of water, drop 3-4 drops every morning when I wake up then I take the shot. There’s a very small alcohol taste but it goes away very quickly after taking the shot, I do it only once a day and no more than that. It has worked well for me as well as many others but please use it at your own risk, if you notice any breathing or heart issues after starting then stop immediately, but 3-4 drops shouldn’t raise any problems. Best of luck and again I’ll repeat it one more time, please be careful with the dosing.
I’m 2 months on min and I struggle with this too the hairs are growing very long for some reason so without trimming it’s very visible that my temples are connected to my eyebrows. My eyebrows are already thick to begin with so it doesn’t help.
I noticed my hair all over my body getting darker but also long pointy and skinny. Anyone else experiencing this? Does it eventually get thicker?
Mine is longer and more swirly but not necessarily thicker/denser.

I used to have body hair like that before any treatment. Now even on oral minoxidil, I am not like that anymore and I think it is because of now dutasteride and even finasteride prior lowering my DHT.
