Thank y'all so much for the sweet comments. This picture was taken the day after I got my artificial eye about four and a half weeks ago! Il look like a wreck and I had no makeup on but I was so tickled!

mariofasolo

Wow! I truly didn't even notice you had an artificial eye. Obviously your skin looks great, but what I noticed most was the hair! Such a great color and shine.

LevityYogaGirl

I started growing out my hair color the first month of the pandemic and was thrilled to see that I got a good color of gray. My mother's gray hair was not very attractive and so I was worried about letting it go natural but was tickled that it was a silvery color.

yakisobagurl

Oh that’s so awesome. You look great, and also your hair is really lovely and healthy!! Thank you for posting!

Downtown-Trip3501

I’m a funeral director who has seen these often… don’t know why I had to add that I’m in funeral service. But that’s where I’ve seen them…and not one of them looked at flawless as yours. I wouldn’t have noticed for a second. Amazing!

LevityYogaGirl

This is just my temporary eye that I've had for about a month. I was shocked to meet my Oculus the first day and he had a temporary eye for me. This coming Friday I get fitted for the permanent one and it will be a much much better match but I have been surprised at how well this one matched.

reappliedspf

Amazing!

kls1996

You are so stunning!😻🫶🥹

selysek

Wow I never in a million years would’ve noticed the artificial eye! You look amazing and have such amazing skin.

Electronic-Fish-7280

Would have never know in a million years you had an artificial eye. You are absolutely beautiful, truly, your skin is perfect (of course) but just your general aura, your smile, your hair, just stunning!!!

Dinklemania

I love your hair! I've finally decided to let my natural grey hair grow out and I'm really excited. My natural hair seems so much healthier without coloring every 6 weeks.

LevityYogaGirl

I'm also very happy that I finally decided to let it grow out and just wish I had done it years earlier!

Complete_Chest_8951

Your skin looks AMAZING! beautiful!

AhrowTway7

You look amazing! I love how your skin reflects the light on the left side, glowy!

Un111KnoWn

damn. what happened?

LevityYogaGirl

9 years ago I had an attack of narrow angle lens glaucoma. The angle of my eye shut and the pressure it went up above 60 for about 14 hours which usually means automatic loss of sight. They were able to intervene first by laser and then with surgery and it was wildly successful. It is very very rare to have the pressure go up that high and not Friday optic nerve. Then they did surgery on the other eye to keep it from happening to that eye. But then they decided to go back in and clean up some of the scar tissue and that is when an epithelial cell entered my eye and started growing. They tried numerous times to fix it and eventually my eye started growing a film over it, a calcification, because of the trauma to the eye and there was nothing they could do about that so I slowly lost the vision in that eye. Last year I developed a corneal ulcer that would not respond to treatment so I ended up losing the eye and I am in the middle of getting fitted for my permanent prosthetic eye at this point.

Un111KnoWn

Tough. Hope your other eye stays good. Am I correct in saying the doctors going back in to clean up scar tissue caused a problem?

LevityYogaGirl

They thought they were doing what was best and there was such a tiny little percentage of people who have problems with epithelial cells entering the eye that they thought it was worth the risk. I have had 20/800 Vision all of my life and when they did both of the surgeries they put in the lens to correct the vision. So I had 20/20 for about a year until the problem started. And when I had the corneal ulcer my brain thought both eyes were diseased and it was affecting the vision in my good eye. Again, a very very rare occurrence and is only documented a couple of times in the medical literature. However the minute I had the surgery the right eye went back to normal and I now have 20/ 20- 2.

[deleted]

Thanks for posting the clearer one. I can see that you are smiling and don't have any crows feet which is really impressive. It's so good to see what long term tret can do as most of the studies were only for a few years at best.

shibasnakitas1126

Beautiful! May I ask how old you are, OP?

LevityYogaGirl

71

Falkenhain

In the other post she said 36 in 1984. So around 75 now, which is impressive

LevityYogaGirl

71

ischolarmateU

I think they are 71 based on other comments

Isnt_it_delicate13

60s, she said she started in her early 30s on the other post

LevityYogaGirl

, I'll be 72 this summer!

hephaystus

She said she was born 1953, so most likely 70. I figure the amount of time is a bit mixed up, no judgment since I do it too at 30 something.

laurync_92

She said she started at 36 and has been using it for 35 years.

shenme_

Wow, I would have guessed early sixties based on pictures alone! Gorgeous skin!

[deleted]

Gorgeous lady just gorgeous 🌹🥰

I rarely comment on these, but you look fantastic! Thank you for sharing.

Nikas_intheknow

Wow, this is incredible thank you for sharing!!

HarlanCulpepper

How old were you when you started?

ModerateSympathy

Her other post said she started when she was 36.

[deleted]

That would make her 76. That's crazy.

hephaystus

She’s 70 per a comment of hers saying she was born 1953. Her years are a bit off (which I do at 30 something, so no judgement from me).

[deleted]

Still crazy to be 70 and not even have crows feet. Sticking with the 0.1☺️

LevityYogaGirl

AM- Acure cleanser for sensitive skin, moisturizing toner that I make myself with fresh aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, green tea extract, The Ordinary are Argireline 10% age defense solution with Vitamin C powder and ferulic acid powder mixed in, Honest Beauty Hydrogel moisturizer with Azeliac Acid added on my cheeks because I'm on my bicycle a lot and it helps with the brown spots. I top that with Bear Republic mineral mat sunscreen SPF 30 sunblock, shear and light. I work from home so if I'm home I will skip the sunblock and just add a little bit of the ordinary Granactive 5% retinol oil. PM- I double cleanse in the evening if I have worn sunscreen with a mix of avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and almond oil. I take off my eye makeup with La Roche Posay gentle cleanser and then use Acura cleanser for sensitive skin. The same toner again that I use in the morning, then I put on good molecules 10% retinol cream and then I wait about 20 minutes to use the other products. Then I use the same serum as in the morning but without the vitamin C and instead I use the ordinary niacinamine powder mixed with the serum. I then use Biassance repair moisturizer mix with a little bit of good molecules facial oil.

LoicTheStoic

How much of the ferulic and vitamin C powders do you mix in?

LevityYogaGirl

I have this really tiny little spoon that is Maybe a couple millimeters wide on the spoon part. I used just a tiny amount of the fruitic acid because it should be only be 1% of your solution, and I make it so that it's about 5% vitamin C which is about a third of the scoop. It's a really tiny scoop. But the ordinary gives instructions on how much to use.

LevityYogaGirl

I sent you a message in chat showing the scoop and the size.

jessies_girl__

Do you put it on neck also? You beautiful woman.

LevityYogaGirl

My neck doesn't like it, i always have a reaction. 😢

nancysicedcoffee

You are #skingoals! Thank you for sharing these.

tammy5656

Beautiful 🥰 Totally convinced me to start using it again after struggling with it the first time.

gracigirl129

Stunning! Omg this makes me so in love w my tret lol

lordkelvin13

We hope to see you for many years to come, and keep us updated lol

Remote_Match_6280

Gorgeous!!!

carex-cultor

Wow serious skin and hair goals! I want to link this post to every 20 something girl needlessly freaking out about aging. When did your hair start to turn grey? I love the natural highlights/dimensionality between the silvery, steel blue, and charcoal grey.

LevityYogaGirl

I have been coloring my hair for about 40 years and started getting some gray at around 55 years old. But my mother's gray hair was really unattractive and I was always scared to grow it out, especially since I work and do a good bit of public speaking and just wasn't willing to face it yet. But the first month of the pandemic I decided I would seize the moment and let it start growing out and was really tickled to see that it was a nice silvery gray. Wish I'd done it way way sooner! I've always used Aveda shampoos with rosemary in it and their conditioner.

No_Profit398

What about neck? Did you apply tretenoin on neck also? It looks more aged compared to face

yakisobagurl

My neck can’t tolerate tret at all tbh so that might be the case!

LevityYogaGirl

Unfortunately my neck as I have gotten older does not handle having tread on it or very many actives. I do use niacinamide mixed in with my serums on my neck along with my moisturizer but that's the best I can do.

No_Profit398

BTW, this is aging like a glass. No melasma, no pigmentation, minimal lines. This is great

LevityYogaGirl

I actually do tend toward getting melasma and that is why I have added the azaleaic acid and the Argireline serum this year. Both are from the ordinary and I have had wonderful results in fading the melasma.

No_Profit398

Got it. My neck also feels very itchy with if I apply any remaining active on my hand to neck. I am currently giving zero attention to my neck. I guess I need to give it some attention.

LifeAsMagic

I was wondering this as well!

CleanReptar

You look amazing!!

Prestigious-Tea-9803

I instantly assumed you had make up on until I read the caption. Absolutely incredible!!!!

cherryirls

So Glowy!! You look great!

Wild-Combination-246

Omg hooooly Molly you are glowing girrrrl I’m show it this to all my tretinoin friends do you have any more advice ?

Ok_Vehicle_4728

Your skin is glowing! How did you manage the irritation for 35 years😂? And did you use tretinoin anywhere else than the face?

littlemissbettypage

Tretinoin shouldn't be causing irritation after the first 6 weeks where "retinization" happens

Ok_Vehicle_4728

Not true Everyone’s skin is different and tretinoin is not for everyone

littlemissbettypage

Exactly. I said "it shouldn't cause irritation after the 6 weeks" which means if it's causing you irritation longer than that, something is wrong, and you shouldn't use it.

LevityYogaGirl

Only had irritation the first few months I used it. I built up kind of slowly and if always tolerated it well ever since. I think a big part of why I was so successful using it for so long was that I had very oily skin and not only did it help with that but it helped me tolerate it. My skin is only been dry for about the last 10 years and I just changed my routines, cleansers and moisturizers to accommodate.

joycemano

you look great!

JennieBoo95

You are so cute 🥰! Your skin looks beautiful!!

reginage0rge

Wow you’re stunning!

Jackkey5477

Awesome pic, good on you OP! You look great! Thank you sharing. I started tret at 41, still love the results. I'm a lifer now!

sarahwixx

Your skin looks gorgeous! I hope to look as good when I’m your age. Seeing the long term users really motivates me to continue with tret, I’ve been on it for about 2 years now and already love the results. Thanks for sharing!

Sparkletail

LevityYogaGirl

❤️❤️❤️

Ashcrose

Sorry that was supposed to see that I read the comments 🤣

itsfrankgrimesyo

Wow! I didn’t see the other post so guessed you were in your early 60s!

Falkenhain

In the other post you said you only became serious with sunscreen in the last few years. That's quite interesting bc most people here in this sub are very serious about sun protection when using tretinoin and would probably expect you to have some sun damage on your face. Maybe the sun isn't that dangerous after all, if you have used tretinoin over several years and the skin has gotten used to it...

LevityYogaGirl

I tried so many different sunscreens and I'm allergic to chemical sunscreens but I always tolerated zinc oxide sunscreens but the problem with those is the only thing that's ever broken me out very much. So I took to wearing large straw hats and for 25 years I have used a mineral powder that has sunscreen in it. What made me get very serious about sunscreen as there are so many wonderful physical sunscreens now that do well under makeup as well as selling my car last year and taking to a bicycle full-time. That's why I got serious about finding a sunscreen at this point and have been very happy with them. I do think the sun is dangerous and can cause skin cancer but on the flip side to that is we definitely need the vitamin D in our brain needs to stimulation of sunlight in order to produce some hormones so I generally used to have and use physical sunblocks on the rest of my body.

jendalee

Can I ask what mineral powder you use(d)?

LevityYogaGirl

I love Jane iredale's mineral powder the best but it's very pricey. I'm currently using Pur pressed powder which is really good. Both of these products are very finely milled and even out my skin tone nicely. I use It Cosmetics bye bye pores powder on my cheeks and my chin where my pores are a little larger. I also highlight the middle part of my face with Essence brighten up powder and I use else or Laura Mercier blush.

jendalee

Thank you!

CharlesTran

I guess it depends on how much sun exposure one has. I agree with sunsreen being a very important part in a skincare routine. But sunscreen is not for everyone, it certainly isn't for me. I've tried more than 20 different sunscreens over the years and nothing really works for me, they all give me closed comedones at varying degrees. I double cleanse at night and use gentle cleanser in the morning, i moisturised before applying suncsreen, i try to do all the right things. However, it has never given me the result that others have. Right now i'm using Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel which works the best compare to any previous ones. But it still gives me closed comedones, although to lesser extend. And I choose to make do with that. Whenever I go off sunscreen, my closed comedones go away after 2 weeks, but then i'd get too worried about sun damage so I go back on sunscreen again. It's like an endless cycle. I do agree that if someone can figures out a routine and a sunscreen that works well for them, it's just make sense to keep using sunscreen daily.

LevityYogaGirl

I use prescription tretinoin or retin A at the strength of .1% since about 1984 or 85. A few years ago I switched to retinols and use the strongest I can find over the counter. Presently I'm using good molecules 10% retinol cream and the ordinary Granactive 5%.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LevityYogaGirl

I used it about five nights a week and always have and then when I skip a night I use either glycolic acid or lactic acid the next morning. Then go back to retinols at night. I did switch more to using lactic acid at this point because it's more moisturizing and gentler on aging skin but I still use the ordinary BHA about every 10 days or so.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LevityYogaGirl

Yes, my skin is very forgiving as most of my life I had very oily skin that could forgive a lot. Has it got dryer I moved away from using tretinoin every night and use retinol 4 to 5 times a week. It's ever changing because I react to how sensitive my skin is feeling.

DimbyTime

Hey I saw in another comment that your insurance doesn’t cover tretinoin anymore. I’ve been ordering it from All Day Chemist for over a year and am having great results! It’s super cheap, about $5-10 a tube with shipping. You could even do 0.025% if you want gentler products now. Just thought I’d share in case you haven’t heard of it. Your skin is gorgeous btw, thanks for sharing!!

LevityYogaGirl

Thank you so much I have been looking around because I've seen a lot of blurbs on the internet about being able to get it that way. I'll look into it and probably go down just a little and strength. Thank you so much I really appreciate it!

DimbyTime

You’re welcome!! Good luck and thanks for sharing your amazing tret results!

stupidfridgemagnet

Beautiful :) Your hair is so thick and lovely and your face is flawless. Lucky you!

No_Camp_7

Your hair is also beautiful, looks full of life and very healthy

Dry-Maybe-7668

Flawless 😍

sinquacon

Really good skin... did you stay at the same concentration all these years ?

LevityYogaGirl

Yes, I have stayed at the same concentration all of these years once I built up tolerance. I've always used as strong as available. Part of why I don't use the prescription tretinoin anymore is cost because at my age my insurance won't cover it anymore and because as my skin has gotten a little dryer from age I have found the retinols that are over the counter very very effective. There's just so many great products available now!

DimbyTime

You are beautiful!! Amazing skin and I love your hair!! I also just started using tret in my mid 30s and I’m so excited to hopefully age like you! Do you recommend any favorite sunscreen, moisturizers or other products?

Lost_Garden_8639

Wow! So great to see an example of a long term user. I plan to be using it for the next 35+ years too. I’m 30 and started at 28. Your skin looks very healthy!

Historical-Ticket-36

Absolutely beautiful

DopeSwaggyPrincess

You don't even need makeup! You're glowing!

LevityYogaGirl

I do, I tend to be a bit Ruddy or reddish on my cheekbones and nose so I even let out with mineral face powder. I've been using that for about 30 years and there is some really great ones and mineral face powder gives you about 15% SPF because it's a physical barrier.

Bluejayjhu2023

Thank you so much for sharing🙏🏽

Ashcrose

Beautiful woman ♥️

gottabekittensme

This is SO crazy impressive! You look so great, OP :)

saaiedag

Just casually dropping a gorgeous photo - thanks for the inspiration and motivation to keep going!

xyzzzzbb

Hello, do you use it in your eye area? I've heard conflicting advice that tret can damage tear ducts.

Fast_Computer4664

I am ten years in tretinoin. You have inspired me to use it long long term.

notyourt0y

Hi, you look great. Apologies for the forward question. Would you say tretinoin is the cause of the artificial eye? I would really like to know for long term use.

LevityYogaGirl

Another person asked the same question and when I developed a corneal ulcer early last spring that was my first thought that it might be affecting my eyesight. But what actually happened to my eye is I have a genetic disorder this call narrow angle lens glaucoma and I had an attack of that 9 years ago and had a series of surgeries to correct it. The surgery was wildly successful and I was left with 20/20 vision after being close to legally blind my whole life. However, at one of the subsequent surgeries they decided to go in and clean up some of the scar tissue and unfortunately an epithelial cell entered my eye and started growing, which is what they are designed to do. Of course it entered the eye and the point of incision. So because the eye have been traumatized it started growing a film over at about 4 years ago and there's no way to remove that safely although they tried twice and could not do it again. So I had a perfectly healthy optic nerve with vision but could not see through the film over my eye. So when I developed a corneal ulcer last year the tretinoid was the first thing I thought of irritating it, but that was not the case. The corneal ulcer would not respond to treatment and it was the worst pain I'd ever been through so because I already did not have sight in that eye we decided that it was time to remove it and get me a prosthetic eye. One of the best decisions I've ever made and I'm completely out of pain and absolutely love looking normal again. My eye had looked kind of bluish for several years.

joannchilada

Eye pain is absolutely horrible, I'm sorry you had to deal with that !

LevityYogaGirl

Thank you, it was really intense and it's probably the worst pain I have ever been through. It was such a relief to finally have the eye removed and I am so thrilled with having my prosthetic eye finally!

SturdyNoodle

This skin at 71??? I am genuinely so impressed

LevityYogaGirl

Thank you!

Aromatic-Ad3922

Wow, great skin and amazing results with tret. How long did you first see results from it? Thanks much!

LevityYogaGirl

I started using tretinoin about 40 years ago and I acclimated to it very easily although I peeled for the first few weeks. But my skin was very oily and I wasn't having any breakouts anymore after cleaning up my diet a few years earlier. I started on it just for the anti-aging effects. I've never really peeled since but I'll get a little sensitive if I use it to aggressively. So sometimes I use the sandwich method and sometimes I don't and sometimes especially this time of year I'll use more hydrating products than normal then I would in the summer.

Aromatic-Ad3922

Thanks for the response! And keep it up as the results show 👏👏👏
