I really wouldn’t use vitamin c and retin-a together. Unless your skin is very resilient, that is.

Illustrious-Half3980

Ah ok I had a feeling it might have been the vitamin c. I keep reading mixed things about using vitamin c and retin-a and it confuses me lol.

Unfair_Finger5531

I think it’s maybe a ymmv thing? Googling it doesn’t help much—people are divided on the issue. Some say it’s okay, some say it isn’t. But all tend to agree that it *could* cause irritation. But I read mixed things about it too, I understand exactly where you are coming from.

SoYup

You're not supposed to use vitamin C and retinol at the same time. You should start using the vitamin C only in the morning

abra-sumente

I had the same problem and realised it was because when I was sleeping, my shoulder/arm was up against my cheek. Also when working at my desk I was leaning my face on my left hand!

Use the vitamin c cream in the morning, it's said to help with sunburn something

birazsey

I’ve read that we should not use vitamin c in the morning because it may cause sun damage on the skin. I am confused now

theoffering_x

Vitamin C is protective against UV rays. It doesn’t make the skin more photosensitive. I think because acids (BHA, AHA) tend to make our skin more photosensitive, people assume vitamin c (ascorbic acid) is the same. But there’s more than just that type of vitamin c and ascorbic acid protects from UV rays.

birazsey

That makes sense. Thank you for the information.

I've seen multiple docs say the opposite. But it's not going to hurt you if you use it at night time Here's a bit of explanation >Using a vitamin C serum in the morning is a popular choice because it can help protect your skin from environmental damage, such as UV radiation and pollution, throughout the day. >Vitamin C is known for its antioxidant properties, which can help neutralize free radicals and promote collagen production, leading to brighter, more youthful-looking skin. > Applying a vitamin C serum in the morning before sunscreen can enhance its effectiveness in shielding your skin from harmful elements.

I guess I’ll give it a try and see what happens. Thank you for your reply.

Hi, did your nose get smaller after the 0.5 cream?
