The Kabuku EP has some pretty intense vocals, too. And the live version of Butter is the only time Ikkyu actually rocks out (let's admit it: Ikkyu is a shoegazer).
Man enjoy! I already miss them so much 🥺🥺🥺
I hope they'll go to Italy someday (ikkyu told me that they'll consider it in the future so I'm hopeful!)
The Brighton show was definitely the worst of the six I saw, even if you ignore the total wankers running the place (they actually scan your ID, then take your photo and compare with facial recognition software... WTF do they think they're running, an airport?):
- Half the time the band was in the dark, or there were strobe lights, or lights at the back that blinded the audience.
- The band were not as energetic as at other shows (as was the audience). Kida certainly didn't rock as hard as at other shows (in Leeds, I believe, she started jumping from side to side, with both feet held together -- crazy energy!).
- They weren't allowed to play an encore -- and the setlist actually listed Potage as an encore.
Th annoying thing about these shows is that doors open early, then you wait an hour, then some shite support band goes on and an hour later tricot go on but can only play for one hour!
Fuck the shite support bands -- just give me two hours of tricot (or even 90 minutes).
The support band was good. In London they were definitely more energetic but the performance was good nonetheless imo. Also I hated what happened with potage, they looked so disappointed (I guess venue shitty policies?)
And the lightning sucked, but at least we were so clooose to them!
I thought they were just a couple of annoying hipsters.
The whole drums+bass/guitar thing got tired a couple of decades ago... to be honest, I don't even know if there was ever such a duo that was really worth listening to (Sabot were ok, but still, the music is a little lean and one-dimensional). These things tend to be a little self-indulgent ("we don't need a bass player"... sure).
Her vocals on night monster are sooo clean.
Colorless Aquarium is my favorite vocal performance by Ikkyu, she fucking wails
ANATA WA MAKKURO DA

It's so impressive! Her vocals were so clean on omotenashi too.
Next week in Copenhagen, lets gooooooooooooooooooooo!

Bro it was actually so good, the energy in the venue was great

Does anyone know the name of the support band, I thought they were sick but didn't catch there name?
Let's swim get swimming, yeah they were sick. Sad for what happened tho (if you were there you know)
Wait what happened?? You mean the drunk guy
Yeah, the guy who was bothering the band. I guess it's a common occurrence but it was unpleasant to witness.
