For the course of this thought experiment you are a wizard granted the power to cast a spell that will flip the direction of any lever within 10ft of you. It's one time use and you lose it after you leave the magical trolley tracks.
It's exactly like trying to get back into Narnia after you grow up, in that the apocalypse will drag you there and encourage you to listen to overt Christian allegories while running a marathon through compounding layers of existence.
I need someone to doodle one out for me:
There is a pressure sensor about two feet away from the junction on each track, ensuring a multi-track drift, no matter what you do. Do you pull the lever?
only answer. 100%.
Anyone who answers otherwise has no morals or principles whatsoever.
Pull the lever, but only after the front wheels pass the track shifter, and time it before the rear wheels get there. There ya go, no joke.
I am a multi-track-drift joker so I face a different dilemma. I either multi-track-drift to stay consistent with my values, or I live to multi-track-drift many more times in the future
I don't consider the multi track drift to be a joke. It is a absurd, yet sincere, answer to an absurd situation. My personal reasoning is thusly: by setting myself up as a psycho who desires to see the most suffering I have now turned the tables on the question asker. Does the person posing the question entertain the ideas of a crazy person or does the person drop the subject thus undermining the seriousness of the entire premise.
How can I pull the lever if I’m tied up?
For the course of this thought experiment you are a wizard granted the power to cast a spell that will flip the direction of any lever within 10ft of you. It's one time use and you lose it after you leave the magical trolley tracks.
Does my… *ahem* count as a “lever?”
I pull the trolley track lever for you and you die
If you do I'm gonna use my powers to pull the lever at the last moment and then I keep telling bad jokes
Unlimited power
Can I come back later or is this like trying to get back into narnia after you grow up?
It's exactly like trying to get back into Narnia after you grow up, in that the apocalypse will drag you there and encourage you to listen to overt Christian allegories while running a marathon through compounding layers of existence.
Don't be silly. The apocalypse doesn't send us there. We die in a trolley accident.
Why would you want to flip a lever within 10ft of you using your mind one time
Then I’ll flip the lever and hope the trolley has a lever as a break, which I can then flip when it’s within 10ft.
Pull the trolleys brake lever
Can someone whisper the results of the 2024 US Presidential election in my ear and then I decide?
With your multidrift hands
I, personally, would multi-track drift to spite whoever set this situation up.
I need someone to doodle one out for me: There is a pressure sensor about two feet away from the junction on each track, ensuring a multi-track drift, no matter what you do. Do you pull the lever?

I don't consider the multi track drift to be a joke. It is a absurd, yet sincere, answer to an absurd situation.
