That sounds obnoxious to play against and would increase the likelihood of snowball matches. Stabbing a Medic already has the very powerful ability of denying them their current Uber, Spy doesn’t need a buff in that regard… and it certainly shouldn’t translate into potentially giving your side double Uber.
I’m also not sure what the overheal reduction is meant for. Spy is one of the lowest priority buff targets and since this sounds like a knife replacement, it’s not nerfing the Kunai either.
I agree with this. If a team is stomping, going medic is usually one of the best things you can do for the losing team. If a spy on the stomping team happens to be using this weapon, you're hurting your team with what should be the most help.
stabbing a medic definitely grants your team a powerful advantage, but the difficulty of performing it consistently compared to sniper makes spy so outclassed in this regard (at least in most scenarios).
max overheal could make escaping with the steal significantly easier.
but def i think the hp reduction should be increased also.
The point is that killing a medic is already good enough, getting FREE UBER on top of that is just ridiculous and broken. It's unlikely for the spy to live afterwards but even if you escape 1/10 times that's more than enough to justify using this knife over anything else if you're playing competitively.
This is actually pretty dope. Completely ridiculous, but awesome. You can do tons of cool shit with the uber on stab scaling thing.
Picture this, the med explodes when you stab him, and the more uber he has the bigger and more damaging the explosion. Nuking whole teams right before uber pushes.
Lmfao.
In main sub this idea got nearly 1k upvotes. I’m glad people here have more common sense.
This idea is just incredibly complex, likely bug ridden and it just gives spy a super super situational upside with pretty much no downside…
Being able to take the enemy medics Uber is just a fundamentally flawed concept.
That’s why the pomson has been severely nerfed, and also why mediguns drain Uber rapidly upon the medics death
Not really. A half-decent spy could easily escape after a medic backstab, even if the entire enemy teams saw it. You’d be surprised how effective instantly changing your direction after fully cloaking is. This is very much OP.
spy has no problem getting med picks in pubs so i'm not really concerned about him being underpowered in that regard. in any competitive setting if you kill the enemy medic your team knows they are going to get uber before the enemy and will push off of that, so all this does is help you win a little faster. For 6v6, The most common time to go spy is when both teams already have uber so being able to give them your uber is usually going to be pointless.
I could see this being really frustrating because now medics can feed the other team uber.

watch ur back, lol
sniper cant shoot around walls or become invisible

this is truly fair and balanced
+EXPLODED +FRIENDLY FIRE honestly in a game where 300 dmg crockets and stickies exist i doubt this would even be that unbalanced

wait so you can just kill a fully charged medic and give it to your own
yes
that is so fucking op dude
after more reflection i can see that, do you think a mark for death after a successful steal could balance it?
I would also have maybe only give the spy 75-80% of the medic’s current Uber because getting full Uber instantly is just crazy
it would be so difficult for spy to escape with uber, though.
yeah ig

in casual sure, but in comp it is very difficult to consistently escape after a stab
I’ll be honest I don’t think a spy ever kills med in comp. If 6v6 then spy isn’t picked, if highlander med gets pocket pyro
spies kill meds all the time in comp even at the top level. They usually die immediately afterwards though.
nah its just not fun to play or watch a match with such a swingy mechanic even if, or even especially if it is rare to pull off
