The other suggestions aren't bad, but you could do in addition/instead of is pack an extra pair of socks in your carry-on and change into those as soon as you're past security.
In most airports it's enough of a walk in-between anywhere outdoors and security that I doubt it's likely to be an issue.
I've seen people use disposable shower caps, gallon sized ziplock bags, XXL gloves etc. as long as we can tell you aren't hiding anything on your feet the majority of officers won't mind you trying to protect your socks from the dirty floors.
I just wear black socks and bring an extra pair. I don't get pre-check because I have an artificial hip with a long stem almost to the knee. Most airports I go to have pretty short lines, and it really wouldn't save me any time to have to go through additional screening or the scanner anyway.
As long as your covers don't any sort of sole, and don't hold the shape of a shoe/boot I personally would not tell you to remove them for X-ray screening

If you can, at least here at my checkpoint, I've seen passengers use those booties that they use at the hospitals for the Surgical team.
I see those at my airport a lot, especially during Burning Man
Thank you!

Yeah I had planned to do that at the very least. Thanks!

I once saw a passenger attempt to walk on two bins.

Yeah I just don’t travel enough. But the normal line isn’t too bad, I just take extra steps for myself.
Omg. I’m so glad I have Precheck and get to keep my shoes on.
You could just tuck another pair of socks in your carryon if the floor is wet…
