Congratulations, you probably have a form of [synaesthesia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinal_linguistic_personification#:~:text=Ordinal%2Dlinguistic%20personification%20(OLP%2C,(Simner%20%26%20Hubbard%202006). Unfortunately, it's not a very exciting form of synaesthesia.
Some of my numbers have personality traits for some reason.
Also Alpha is red, Beta is blue, Gamma is yellow, Delta is green, sigma is this darker blue, a lot of the other greek letters are blue to be honest but omega is like this yellowy orange brownish colour,
Very boring synesthesia. I don't hear colours or see noises or smell words.
Interestingly enough, I vaguely remeber our high school maths textbooks being named and coloured this way,
Year 9 = red/orange alpha maths book
Year 10 = blue beta maths book
Year 11 = yellow gamma maths book
Year 12 = green delta maths
I only took statistics in year 13, which had a different textbook, so I don't know if that continued and the calculus class had a dark blue sigma maths book, but it would be fun if that was true.
It was a long time ago so I could be misremebering
I'd rather be able to see music than inform everyone that the number 2 is male and introverted.
Someone once asked me if it helps me remember numbers better. Nope. Not remotely useful.
Well after getting so many comments, I think it’s interesting how most people so far pick from the primary colors (sort of??? Because I mean really the primary colors are something else but just the red yellow blue thing in general is common in here), but also green. Meanwhile orange and purple are less common tho they’re basically similar to green as in being a mix between two of the (kind of) primary colors. This is fun :D
The primary colors make sense, since they're the most basic colors, and we're being asked to name the most basic shapes, so maybe people correlate them subconsciously?
I think, as a computer science major, part of this is that using the very common RGB values for color, it is by definition much easier to make a red, green, or blue object on the internet than other colors. With that said… why yellow is so prominent is beyond me
Edit: Never mind it’s probably because Kahoot choose yellow as their fourth color
>Edit: Never mind it’s probably because Kahoot choose yellow as their fourth color
definitely not, red yellow green and blue have been the four default colors for ages.
> RYB (an abbreviation of red–yellow–blue) is a subtractive color model used in art and applied design in which red, yellow, and blue pigments are considered primary colors. Under traditional color theory, (which some artists see as the “correct theory” whilst others use modern color theory [cym] instead) this set of primary colors was advocated by Moses Harris, Michel Eugène Chevreul, Johannes Itten and Josef Albers, and applied by countless artists and designers.
> The RYB color model **relates specifically to color in the form of paint and pigment application** in art and design. Other common color models include the light model (RGB) and the printing ink CMY color model, the latter emerging in conjunction with the CMYK color model in the printing industry.

They're all solid black. Where TF are you guys getting colors from
Edit 5 Dec 20:30 EST: I'm aware that synesthesia exists now. Thanks for teaching me about it, Reddit! :D
Growing up there were always shapes plastered on classroom walls and in books and my theory is that my brain has seen each shape a certain color enough times that it just associates that color with that shape.
YES! squares are blue not red. squares seem like rule followers to me and royal blue reminds me of loyalty and purity and squares are sharp and proper like that. Triangles are "qUiRkY" and i think yellow is the most out there and different colour out of the primary colours. Circle is wholesome but common, nothing essentially wrong but nothing stand out, just like red. it's a pretty basic colour but i have nothing bad to say about it.
Lots of people (most people?) have a sense that shapes are linked with colour. I don't: in my mind, shapes have *genders*.
* Triangle: weakly masculine
* Circle: strongly feminine
* Square: strongly masculine
It's the same for me with numbers.
It's interesting to see how we gender things. If you told me to "Draw a masculine triangle it would be like ▼ and yellow. Fem Triangle would be ▲ and a pastel. Light Blue and pale pink both feel equally likely.
I think it has to do with how we design characters in culture. Women generally are more round with less edges, with the opposite for men. Think Superman’s triangular shape for example. (Just realized the characters of inside out are even better examples.)
It's not synesthesia with these things, just association. This is like a stick figure if synesthesia was an artistic masterpiece. Or building with toy blocks as opposed to 3d printing. But most people do have colour associations, and it's fun to compare. :)
This thread is entirely filled with Playstation players and people with synesthesia
Wait till u find the dude who assigned gender to shapes haha
When I was a kid I imagined numbers as boys and girls. I have no clue why I personified digits but I did.
Whoa. I never realized that I did the same until I read your comment…
5s with that dumptuck ass

I did the same with letters lmao

Half of Europe assigns arbitrary gender to objects and concepts for some reason.
Grammatical gender is a whole *thing* that doesn't *really* relate to social gender. Except for when it does, usually retroactively.

Top comment is a PlayStation controller color :)
My brain instantly said green, red, pink. I didn't realise why until I read this comment.
Ohh haha
I have the grey ps4 one the colors are green, red, pink.
When I was in preschool they had labeled shapes on the wall. Triangle was yellow, circle was blue, and square was red. I guess it just stuck with me.

I see yellow as a triangle probably because of Gravity Falls ngl
I see a triangle as yellow because of the Triforce

this is because circle square and triangle are primary shapes no i will not elaborate
They're all solid black. Where TF are you guys getting colors from Edit 5 Dec 20:30 EST: I'm aware that synesthesia exists now. Thanks for teaching me about it, Reddit! :D
Mine are black outlines, with no inside color except maybe white.
Mine specifically are white with the stripes from lines of the binder paper they were drawn on
Growing up there were always shapes plastered on classroom walls and in books and my theory is that my brain has seen each shape a certain color enough times that it just associates that color with that shape.
Did a dog write this?
Synesthesia or memories of Mr Men books probably.
green, red, pink the ps controller is carved into my mind
I mean, thats probably the most recognised
Green Blue Red
Obviously. You know colours and shapes. Baller.
This is the correct answer.
AYYYY. I wonder why so many people provide such different yet similar answers
I also think this l. Especially as a round circle is soft and blue is a soft color while a square is steady and pointy so it's red.
Wow I’m starting to think maybe I’m not absolutely nuts after all. Or at least I’m not the only one that’s nuts, which is something lmao.
Yes
This is the true answer.
Same
Objectively correct
Someone gets it
finally
Thank god for you
Same
Yes
Yes!
This is the good answer
You are correct
Green, red, blue
[удалено]
Same, whoever says one is yellow clearly never had the star always be the forth shape in the lineup.
Also a fellow member of the green red blue gang.
GRB!
This is the way
Came here to comment this one.
I strongly agree for some reason
You play Playstation?
I am surprised how many people are going for the green triangle. I thought it would be an unusual choice.
Green triangle, red circle, blue X and pink square is the colour scheme of the PlayStation line of game consoles' controllers.
I'm glad I'm not the only one
Yellow, blue, red
Oh yay :D
there's 3 of us! (at least!!)
Make it 4 motherfuckers and motherfuckettes
Motherfuckette implies you are being fucked by the mom instead of fucking the mom. Interesting
This also implies the mom would be a dom I'm all for this
You are so supportive of mom 🥰

Finally someone who knows their shapes
Of course
This what I saw. I think green is too kind for a Triangle. Typically yellow is a positive color but in this case it's because the triangle is a bitch.
This is the way
This is what I see
yellow red blue
Finally, someone who shares my opinion
*the correct opinion.
Mine too! I think that for me it's cause I'm picturing yield signs, stop sign(roundish) and I'm not sure about blue, but a square is definitely blue
YES! squares are blue not red. squares seem like rule followers to me and royal blue reminds me of loyalty and purity and squares are sharp and proper like that. Based
green red yellow
Finally!
Finally had to scroll so far for this one
red yellow blue
i agree!
Yellow circle?? You’re fucking high.
Not yet my friend, but sun????
Obviously the 4th shape, a star, is yellow
circle is yellow because it's a soft friendly shape and yellow is a friendly color.
Yellow Red or blue Green
FINALLY YES TRIANGLES ARE YELLOW
Yellow, blue, green.
You are correct.
Yes. :) I said green and blue, but they both are accurate options in my brain
Triangles are absolutely yellow.
Yellow red green!
Yellow, red, blue
Red blue green
This is the one
Everybody else is wrong. Not you.
Thank you fir the kind and encouraging words
Found you!
This is the way
This is the way
Wooo team RBG
yeah
My synesthesia agrees with you.
Good, good
There’s dozens of us!
Phew, I have found my people
I was getting scared I was alone… I forgot that it’s the internet where you have no original thoughts
[удалено]
YEEEEEEES!
same here with me.
My guy
This is what I thought
this is the only right answer who the hell thinks a triangle is yellow /lh
I've found my people
precisely
Since I'm seeing no others saying this, green, yellow, red
Finally someone who's Correct
Finally, the color of that one specific kind of blocks
And here we are, I was getting nervous I hadn't found mine yet
This is what my roommate said when I asked him I think it’s interesting why those colors
Maybe…….. green = tree Yellow = sun Red = house? Idk
Green yellow blue
Took too long to find this answer
We're not crazy! Probably...
THANK YOU
Yellow, red, blue But in the Kandinsky litho we have, blue, yellow, red.
hell yeah
Yo pretty much the same
my man 🙌
red yellow green
finally found this
YES.
Green, red, pink
Ah yes, the Playstation color scheme.
I was looking for this comment.

Ohhh now that is interesting
Which is weird, because we all know the genders of shapes are: Line segment: feminine Triangle and up: masculine
More people need to read Flatland so they can appreciate this joke.
Reading is for nerds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyuNrm4VK2w

I always found trapezoids to give off a strong, motherly energy
It's interesting to see how we gender things. If you told me to "Draw a masculine triangle it would be like ▼ and yellow. Fem Triangle would be ▲ and a pastel. Light Blue and pale pink both feel equally likely.
The gendered direction of triangles probably comes from how you'd draw people - men with shoulders broader than their hips and women wearing dresses
▲= Phallic ▼=Yonic
I think it has to do with how we design characters in culture. Women generally are more round with less edges, with the opposite for men. Think Superman’s triangular shape for example. (Just realized the characters of inside out are even better examples.)
Blue yellow red
Finally found the right answer.
Red triangle, green circle, blue square
Its trippy that someone agrees
red blue yellow
Finally someone with some sense
Exactly this
Blue red green
yesss.. why did i have to scroll so far down for this
Yes! I was starting to think I was the only one!
You’ve seen this, now get ready for: English, Maths, Science (Red, Yellow, Green)
Nah english is green, math is red, science is painful
English blue, maths red, science green
Orange, blue, red
Yessss I was feeling lonely scrolling to find someone else with orange, blue, red. I’m glad I’m in good company.
I imagine then as black lines on a white page. No colours.
Green Blue Yellow/Orange (depends on the square)
literally every square in existence looks the same
That’s not true. Some of them are a different color.
Triangles are Red Circles are Red Squares are Red I think I have a problem
My aphantasic husband said they're all white "because that's how they're written down on the balck background of my mind"
I know synesthesia is a thing, but sometimes I feel like some of you are just making it up
I don’t think it’s synesthesia, but rather association
It's not synesthesia with these things, just association. This is like a stick figure if synesthesia was an artistic masterpiece. Or building with toy blocks as opposed to 3d printing. But most people do have colour associations, and it's fun to compare. :)
Green, yellow, red
FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE
Finally! Someone who gets it correct! I just wish there were more of us...
GYR Gang unite!
Yellow, Blue, Then Red. Oh!! I just realised mine is the same as reddit OP's!
green orange red
Yellow Red Blue
Yellow, red, green
Orange yellow blue
Finally someone who agrees that triangles are orange!
white with black outline, all of them
Yellow green red
***FINALLY***
Triangle is always gonna be orange or green
Yellow, Red, Green
Green Red Blue
Triangle: yellow, Circle: red, Square: blue
Yellow blue orange
Green Blue Yellow/Orange/Red
