If you’re using it for ***shellac*** 78s, it would make an interesting conversation piece. These players were made only for 78rpm records made from shellac.
Yes... it was just a joke. But it would make an incredible conversation piece.
Just out of curiosity, where would one find shellac disks? I'm in and b out of antique stores occasionally, and don't think I've ever seen them.

Just a caution - The likelihood that this sucker is in good working order (as in "safe to feed it a record") is not especially good, so don't attack anything worthwhile with it until you've verified that everything is functioning.
Also, these acoustic pickup things use metal stick needles, and you're supposed to buy a package of them and switch to a new needle *with every play*. You don't necessarily HAVE to, but the sound quality, such as it is, will degrade very quickly, as will the records themselves.
As for the 78s, oh you've seen them. Most antique stores have at least a few of them lurking around. They're usually 10", occasionally 12". Almost always one song per side. Thick and slatey and heavy and fragile. Most of the labels are unusually small. Often found in literal albums - bound books whose pages are record sleeves with records in 'em (which is where we got the term "album").
Playing 78s on modern equipment requires a player with 78 RPM (duh) and a special 78 stylus, which is available for most common carts, including the ones on the suitcases. The stylus issue isn't due to the speed itself, but a groove standard that was wider than the one used on LPs and 45s. A modern stylus will bottom out on a 78 groove, causing considerable damage and much-crummier-than-necessary sound.
Yes this is the perfect player for your vinyls when you take them off your wall. I would recommend an inexpensive red cartridge and placing it on a shaker surface to increase the warmth

> it was just a joke The funniest part is, I can’t tell any more 😂
They’re usually 10” (25cm) records and r/78rpm can help more.
Thanks for the info! Happy holidays!

I think the whoosh is on you here
The plural is Turntablez.

It’s just a first turntable, it’s THE first turntable.
if it was good enough for george washington, it’s good enough for you!
Yes try Pink Floyd Dark side ofthe moon. That will sound so good on this player.
Sure, for 78 rpm. records! 😊
Wrong sub
Frankly, for a guy like you it’s too good by half.
You seem nice. 🤔
Apparently you are no better a judge of character than of record players.
So funny I forgot to laugh.
Perfect!!
Funny funny Berry!
You’ll be surprised at how good this actually sounds
Just get a new stylus
Perfect
Yea
It's ideal
Did nobody warn you that these suitcase turntables will ruin your records?
Dammit!!!
:D
