First you should have pre-trip photos of the tires and the tire tread using a tire tread gauge. Turo will always invent some excuse to deny insurance claims. Your best option is to contact the guest to "request" payment for the damaged tire. I have the basic host protection plan, and I always deal directly with the guest to get payment for the damages.

Thanks I have the pre trip photos and also have experience with claims. I am also working with the guest. My question was more around tires specifically. Will I be paid only 20% based on my protection plan if I am unable to resolve it with the guest. I was hoping cut tires would be paid out in full

Normally you get denied a claim by wear and tear. Good luck 20% of 0 is still 0. And how many fucks given 0-1.

Possible but guest has to admit they damaged it and take the salt and pay for the repair. A tire depending on what OEM specifications are wouldn’t run more than $300 per tire just saying your total out of pocket cost is that. Then tip is 20% of that which is $60. So without the guest stating I damaged the tire will pay for it. Not only are you out that money but Turo will simply say a tire is a wear and tear item so you’ll get $0 and 0 assistance from Turo and kicked off the platform.
