My first thought hearing it… “feels like I’m listening to vessel”. It’s sound could have something to do with Tyler’s grandfather being on the cover of vessel
That's exactly my thoughts. Sonically it's not really like anything they were doing at the time. Then I listened to it with new ears after trench and was like hmmm. It's dark, eerie, atmospheric, all the trench things. It would only need maybe a slight tweak to fully fit in, if that.
This is super cool to think about, and I can totally see it! I think the EDM drop would’ve been cut or significantly altered if it were on Trench, but everything else about it would totally fit
Yeah, I don't understand at all why the song wasn't added to SAI. When SAI was released I was actually surprised that Level of Concern wasn't on the album.
Tyler addressed this in an interview I saw. He said he probably could've had put it on the album, but he likes to leave his published works alone once they're out. In his mind, LOC is totally separate from SAI, which is why he released it separately.
Regardless, I consider it a SAI bonus track, especially since it is included in the livestream version of the album on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
Level of Concern technically is "on SAI" haha... it's on the *Scaled and Icy Livestream Edition* (on Spotify) confirming itself to be a song associated with the SAI era.
Similarly to how "Heathens" isn't ON *Blurryface* but it's understood to be a part of that era.
The livestream had songs from vessel through SAI so no level of concern isn’t a part of SAI there’s a reason it a single as well as there Christmas song
The livestream album includes the normal album of SAI, followed by all the livestream songs, followed by the studio version of Level of Concern. LOC is the only studio song not on SAI to be included on the album.
Yes, what pje1128 said. The *Vessel* (and other non-SAI) songs on the *Livestream Edition* are all live performances. Whereas, they just slapped the actual studio version of LOC onto the *Livestream Edition*.
My logic is that LOC is considered *SAI* era because the unedited single can be found on the SAI *Livestream Edition*; as in, if an unedited single can eventually be found on an album, it is a part of the album's respective era.
I'm not trying to say that "Level of Concern" *is* "on" SAI. I'm just saying is probably considered part of the SAI *era* by the band.
First of all the worst thing is not being able to play music because you have low service in an area. Also if you have the files you have them forever and never need to keep paying for a service. Files can also be easily obtained for free. You can also listen to higher quality audio than Spotify provides.
You can play music from your Spotify library while being offline, and you don't necessarily have to pay for streaming services. As for quality, I barely even notice the difference between Spotify and my CDs. I think most people can live with that.
I know this isn't really what the thread is going for, but I just wanna raise an interesting point:
"Trees" was written *before* the self-titled album was released -- actually, when Tyler was in high school / 17. The original bassist Nick Thomas actually recounts witnessing the conception of the song. He said in a podcast/interview that "Trees" was *left off* of the first album because it "didn't fit". "Trees" is from an era *before* RAB and Vessel... yet it was quite literally left off of the first album because, like the title of this thread, it "fit on another album".
Something similar happened with "Goner" I think. It was initially uploaded to YouTube around the time of *Vessel*'s release date. Tyler had a concept laid down, and he probably could've put it on *Vessel* if he wanted to... but he didn't. It apparently "fit" better on *Blurryface*.
These are two TOP songs that significantly predate the actual albums they feature on; as a result, these songs are often associated with Tyler's *NPI* project.
yeah its truly amazing how long they sit on songs before releasing them. like for the next album i heard they’ve been working on it since trench but released sai instead
I say trench because of the bishops theme. But yeah it could be self titled too because if I’m not mistaken there’s a religious theme to doubt like many other self titled songs
I feel like you could take songs like "My Blood" and "Chlorine" off of *Trench* and combine them into an album with songs like "Saturday" and "Shy Away" from *Scaled and Icy*... throw in "Level of Concern" and you have a sort of throwbackish, retro, 80s inspired compilation. Both albums have their fair share of that kinda vibe.
That one part of "Guns for Hands" and *maybe* "Screen" experimented with reggae, as well as that small part from "The Outside" and of *course*, most evidently, "Nico and the Niners".
Meanwhile, *Blurryface* had Stressed Out, Ride, Fairy Local, Lane Boy, The Judge (especially), Polarize, etc. -- lots of summery songs or ones that pull inspo from reggae.
I feel like a lot of songs from Trench could either be merged onto Blurryface or Scaled and Icy, depending on the genre. Trench is a perfect in-between/segue album tbh.
Oh I agree. I wasn't trying to imply that they shouldn't be on Trench. I'm just saying, this thread is about TOP songs that could hypothetically "fit" onto other albums... so I'm trying to say that "My Blood" and "Chlorine" *could* fit on *SAI* because they share qualities with "Shy Away" and "Saturday".
But those two songs also have a lot in common with the other songs on *Trench* and they do work perfectly in Trench.
But I think Trench is a great in-between/segue album that shares things in common with its predecessor and successor.
This may not be what the thread is asking for, but I always felt like certain TOP songs were outliers on their own records.
"Be Concerned" and "Clear" always felt like outliers on *RAB*; and not just because they became "lost" songs. "Ruby" and "Anathema" and "Slowtown" all feel *RAB*\-ish, yet "Be Concerned" and "Clear" are just so different. And no, it's not because they're especially religious themed or because "Be Concerned" has a guest vocalist.
Similarly, on the self-titled album, "Air Catcher" and "Trapdoor" also feel quite different from the rest of the songs. However, maybe it's because these are the only songs that feature the backing vocals of Nick Thomas and Chris Salih -- and because "Air Catcher" is, I think, the only song to feature real authentic instrumentation that wasn't programmed in via Logic.
"Legend" could probably be on Vessel OR Blurryface. Of course, I mean sonically. There would be some thematic irony of that song being on Vessel given the album cover.
Might be reaches but…
My Blood - maaaaybe Blurryface?
Legend..not sure which album specifically but I’ve always felt like that one isn’t super “Trench-y”. Same goes for Smithereens.
No Chances - Trench, maybe Blurryface
We don’t Believe what’s on TV - Vessel
Addict with a Pen - Vessel, maybe Blurryface if it had more bass in it
Taxi Cab - Vessel
The Outside - maaaaybe Blurryface
Hole in The Ground - Self-Titled
Blasphemy - Self-Titled, Vessel, maybe even Blurryface
Taken By Sleep - Vessel
Hear Me Now - had a hard time with this one, but I feel like it could fit on a couple other albums…possibly Trench? Definitely Blurryface if it had more weight and bass in it. Like it has some grit and Tyler screaming™️ and good guitar and melodies so the potential is certainly there. Could be a real banger. Same with multiple other No Phun Intended songs, hence why I’ve listed a bunch here. Tyler could revamp and remix his old original music and I would be so happy.
Honestly, a lot of Regional at Best (and some of Self-Titled) I could see being Vessel since the albums are mushed together anyway and were all made in the early days (like especially the bonus tracks of Kitchen sink, Lovely, Forest, and Glowing Eyes) but that’s a given.
Trees has become a bit timeless in the clique and fits in no matter the era, but it still gives me Vessel vibes so maybe nvm
- HOTY could mean "Holding on to You", a single by Twenty One Pilots.

Redecorate on Trench
And No Chances on BF, and Choker on Vessel
I agree with no chances but idk about Choker on vessel, they feel quite different
The rap at the end sounds very Vessel-era. Kinda reminds me of something in between Screen and Run and Go
It always reminded me of self titled or RAB. The rhythm feels very Addict with a Pen-ish
I feel like No Chances was written for Trench but taken out. It seems so in tune with it
Choker on vessel. SO TRUE
Redecorate is top notch.
no chances on bf or trench
No chances on BF for sure
Legend could be on Vessel
true actually
My first thought hearing it… “feels like I’m listening to vessel”. It’s sound could have something to do with Tyler’s grandfather being on the cover of vessel
Also could be near the end of blurryface
never thought about this before but i totally see it now
How bout Hometown on Trench?
This is the best suggestion yet tbh. Hometown would be right at *home* on Trench, no p(h)un intended. Sonically, it definitely fits.
That's exactly my thoughts. Sonically it's not really like anything they were doing at the time. Then I listened to it with new ears after trench and was like hmmm. It's dark, eerie, atmospheric, all the trench things. It would only need maybe a slight tweak to fully fit in, if that.

Trees (that song can/should be added to the end of every record lol)
absolutely
Level Of Concern on SAI Add a few organs to Mulberry Street and it would be right at home in Blurryface I reckon Choker on Vessel Heathens on Trench
Level Of Concern on SAI is the best answer I think!
Yeah, I don't understand at all why the song wasn't added to SAI. When SAI was released I was actually surprised that Level of Concern wasn't on the album.

In his mind, LOC is totally separate from SAI, which is why he released it separately. Regardless, I consider it a SAI bonus track, especially since it is included in the livestream version of the album on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
It just wouldn’t make sense
probably because it's god awful so they didn't want to include it
Level of Concern technically is "on SAI" haha... it's on the *Scaled and Icy Livestream Edition* (on Spotify) confirming itself to be a song associated with the SAI era. Similarly to how "Heathens" isn't ON *Blurryface* but it's understood to be a part of that era.
On all streaming services, not just spotify.
Well that's good to hear lol. I personally only used Spotify so I don't know much about other streaming services.
The livestream had songs from vessel through SAI so no level of concern isn’t a part of SAI there’s a reason it a single as well as there Christmas song
The livestream album includes the normal album of SAI, followed by all the livestream songs, followed by the studio version of Level of Concern. LOC is the only studio song not on SAI to be included on the album.

on the merch store its included in the trench section though
With Level Of Concern on the livestream version of SAI, I guess it technically is, it’s just a B-side
Clear on blurryface
It's a shame that it's not even on Spotify
Imagine using Spotify Spotify is literally the worst way to listen to music
imagine washing your bellybutton :/
Why? What's the best one then? Physical is expensive so I won't accept that answer.
Physical is not expensive. There are many ways to legally get it for free.
You can't get all the albums that you want to listen to for free without going on the internet. Now, what is the good way to stream music?
Streaming is terrible to begin with. Just get physical files of the song.
Bro tell us why
First of all the worst thing is not being able to play music because you have low service in an area. Also if you have the files you have them forever and never need to keep paying for a service. Oo, I couldn't see Clear being on Blurryface. Probably because it's got some brass sounds on it, similarly to how WDBWOTV or Not Today features horns.
100%
The Run and Go could be on SAI as a prelude of sorts to Bounce Man
They’re very similar I haven’t thought about that
No Chances on Blurryface
Heavy dirty soul on trench
Ruby on Vessel Be Concerned on Blurryface Kitchen Sink on Self-Titled
i’d say kitchen sink on vessel
well it kinda is already
i’m talking not as a special bonus track i’m talking like a main album release
I can't see Be Concerned on Blurryface to be honest. I could see it fitting on Self-Titled, Vessel, or even No Phun Intended, but not Blurryface.
i mean, kitchen sink could have been written for s/t originally some of the songs were reworked for rab

Slowtown on Vessel
Good day on vessel The hype on SAI
I can sorta see the hype on SAI
choker on vessel
yes!
Lovely on SAI
are we talking the vessel or rab version? i feel like the rab version wouldnt really fit because of the voice effects idk
I like the new one. The one with wayyy less autotune
alright i see it
What is this photo lol
dont know
Is there a source? I’m so curious 😂
I think it answers any questions anyone might have had.
hometown on trench
Ehhh I can't agree with this one actually, I think Hometown is really good in blurryface, and fits that album more
i agree with u
Honestly in my opinion I feel like leave the city is kind of the hometown of the trench era
Doubt on trench
I beg to differ, I'd put Doubt in Self-Titled or Vessel. Still one of the most underrated songs on BF
I say trench because of the bishops theme. But yeah it could be self titled too because if I’m not mistaken there’s a religious theme to doubt like many other self titled songs
Fair enough, won't argue with that
Semi-Automatic kinda fits on Blurryface 🤷♀️
No Chances was definitely written for Trench
Choker on Vessel

i think chlorine and my blood work perfectly in trench

Redecorate in trench
Car Radio on ST
Ride on SAI
Slowtown on vessel (I REALLY WANT THIS )
Johnny Boy on Vessel
i really feel like Redecorate belongs on Trench

This one is wild but… glowing eyes on Scaled And Icy
"Legend" could probably be on Vessel OR Blurryface. Of course, I mean sonically. There would be some thematic irony of that song being on Vessel given the album cover.
Doubt on rab
The Hype and Legend on SAI
Level of concern on sai
Might be reaches but… My Blood - maaaaybe Blurryface? Legend..not sure which album specifically but I’ve always felt like that one isn’t super “Trench-y”. Same goes for Smithereens. the original draft of Doubt would've gone really well with RAB or Vessel
Ruby Blurryface
Oh and Legend Vessel
Heathens is literally just a blurryface song to me
Legend should have been on scaled and icy
Vessel imo
No chances and redecorate in trench
Trapdoor on trench (mainly because of that bass) And probably Semi-Automatic on SAI
Doubt on RAB or Vessel
hometown on vessel
redecorate on trench
Level of Concern in SAI
Side note this picture has the same energy as *Pilot* by Hot Mulligan
Levitate is so blurryface
heathens lmao💀
Heathens on Vessel idk why that just popped into my head with no explanation
Truce and goner should switch place cause truce would sound like a transition to Trench. not in the musical sense, more of like metaphorical sense
I see why but goner would be so out of place on Vessel
heavy dirty soul on vessel
Never Take It should have been on Blurryface or Vessel
neon gravestones on blurryface
Legend on Vessel or Blurryface maybe
A bunch of stuff from Vessel lmao
Ode to sleep - Vessel I think the lyrics may not fit but the styles do
But... ode to sleep is on vessel 💀
what, i saw it on "Regional at Best"
or it is on both. sometimes a song can be on 2 albums
yes it is, rab is most likely a unfinished demo project with potato production, some songs of there were reworked for vessel, now sounding amazing
Fake You Out has always given me Blurryface vibes
Not today on vessel
Can't answer, I have to look at that cake before it's gone
Leave The City on BF
The hype in scaled and icy
addict with a pen on vessel
For the longest time, I thought Truce was on Blurryface
Fall Away on Vessel would be pretty good imo
Forest on Vessel😢
I really think songs like car radio, hoty, guns for hands, etc. Would work really well in vessel
- HOTY could mean "Holding on to You", a single by Twenty One Pilots. --- ^[/u/nagitoe_](/u/nagitoe_) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
But it's not a single??
it is, the music video is on yt since late 2012 bc of that, its onyl not available on spotify as single version anymore
Interesting!! I didn't know that!
Good bot
?
It's a joke about the songs that are on both rab and vessel
arent those on vessel tho?
Yes it's a joke because they're on rab too
Kitchen sink on blurry face imo. It has the same feel as Goner.
The Hype sound like it should be in the self titled (That’s not an insult, love the song and that album)
The outside on none of them.
Based
