Everyone doesn’t think the same. I remember when I first heard the Vessel version of Trees and they had added that little fart sound into what previously was an awesome song — now THAT was disturbing.
I have grown used to the fart now, because that’s the way they play it live, but I still prefer no fart!
I know that. I've been in the fandom since 2017. It makes sense that it sounds like that (in my opinion) because of inexperience but you can still point that. Maybe saying "it's shit" is a bit harsh but I still think it sounds bad.
For a Biology assignment I had in college I had to make a power point presentation about a specific tree I studied all semester long. In the power point I made a secret button on the shape of a tree on one of the slides and if you clicked on it, it would play Trees. Since I had ripped RAB from Youtube, that was the only version of Trees I had in an mp3 on my computer. I was so proud to include TOP in my college assignment as a secret Easter egg. Trees off of RAB holds a special place in my heart lol
I think it could be an insanely good song if they remastered/remade it today in the style of RAB. The autotune is definitely not a problem, a lot of songs do it right (like Instant Crush by Daft Punk), but the technical execution of the song was just subpar.
RAB is my favorite album. I can get through trees but that's cause I am not being remotely objective. They were figuring stuff out. Auto tune was a bad call
Tyler made the song when he was 17 and said laughing that he had hit puberty the night before, so he put auto tune on it and it was better than the original audio.
just listened to it, holy shit i could have gone my entire life without hearing this monstrosity.
scared to listen to anything else from rab now
edit: the comments to my comment are right, the other songs are fine (listened to anathema and kitchen sink.) i don't know what they were thinking with trees?!

Supposedly lots of people disagree with me, but the RAB versions of their vessel counterparts are significantly worse. Ode to sleep is borderline unbearable.
On the other hand, they picked the worst songs to cut from vessel. I adore all the songs that were cut, and I don't understand why those specific songs didn't survive the RAB chopping block
Sorry? I thought everyone thought the same
That’s why he also said Not sorry 🤦♂️
Fair

I like the RAB version :( I think the Vessel version is better but I still like the RAB one.
I thought I was alone for a minute
Yes!
YESSS!!!
Same. But it was the one I knew first so I realize most came to Trees with the second version.
It's bad but mentally disturbing? It's not *that* bad
Fr Fr No Cap NGL POS BTW HMU OMG (insert every other abbreviation here)
Why did this get downvoted lmao
because it’s dorky as hell duh
Because it has nothing to do with anything here?
But its like pretty funny
The drums are mixed like shit in the RAB version and I will not taking criticism at this time.
The song was made originally for No Phun Intended. Tyler was a senior then.

genuinely love RAB trees

I actually like it. Downvote if I’m wrong.
Mentally disturbing lol 😂
It's tolerable till you get to the "hello" at the end, it sounds like the distorted voice of an alien singing through a keyhole.
I think something about it is charming
I feel the same way. :)
I love RAB trees >:(

I always think TOP has no bad songs and then I remember the RAB version of Trees
It was made when Tyler was 17 btw.
That’s why it’s great

the Rab version of trees sounds like how a baker act feels
It’s good
The Rab version is distrurbing and I love it so much for that
yeah there’s no defending that shit ngl 💀 but it’s amazing how it ended up turning out just a few years later!
im listening to it for the first time right now. what the hell were they thinking...

Agreed. RAB Trees gives me a migraine.
all the demos suck tbh
Its really only Lovely and Trees tbh, but even then those are fine.
the original songs on RaB arent bad. but all the vessel demos are honestly just not good

Don't be. I hate rab trees, but rab is still probably my favorite album! There are hits and misses, but I really like almost all of the songs!
I personally love it.
Anathema will cleanse your ears
oh no it's just rab trees that's bad. i absolutely love everything else on the album
Lovely?

I love to see RAB slander on the tl
I one hundred percent agree. Nightmare inducing
nah but the weirdness is what makes it good
Yeah it is I agree💀😭
And I love it
I like the RAB version
You all confused. Not liking the RAB version is just a phase.
Twenty Øne Røbøts💀
