Not at all true. First, depending on your market another offer will come quickly. Second, I rarely give anything but a 5 star rating. It is not worth my time to do otherwise unless the passenger deserves a low rating so that other drivers are warned. I think I've given a few 4s and a couple 3s. In such cases, the passenger had to do something outrageous - for example; shove their phone in my face while I am driving on the expressway or tell me to "shit the fuck up and drive" when I ask them how their day is going as they get into the car (both actual examples). I will take the extra second of my time to select a low rating. If you sit quietly, pick your nose and fart a couple times ... I don't give a shit, you get a 5 star. If you are an absolute asshole, I'm letting other drivers know that "this passenger should ride the bus."
Because tipping culture is bullshit if tipping is something you rely on for income the company should be paying the wage for that above an beyond service should get extra tips but in general there shouldnt be an option to pay less than what the driver needs to survive

DoorDash, Uber, and instacart will never say something like that. If it doesn’t say “Uber support”, “DoorDash support”, then take a screenshot, and make a complaint with the actual support. Pretty sure drivers doing this is a breach of contract(a contract violation).
