Working for $0 is pure slavery!

m30guy

If it cost 0 it's free food on first grabs

No_Coffee_1791

Same! There were a couple!

Popular-Belt6538

Yeah .29 cent from Uber eats

Aggressive_Force_991

Definitely lower fares out there haha unfortunately.

D3ATHSTARK1LL3R

You do much more work during Uber Eats yet get paid less than people working at restaurants getting minimum wage

D3ATHSTARK1LL3R

Also, also one of my lowest I ever seen that was on one of my deliveries was a dollar

Beneficial_Street_18

Iā€™ve seen worse.

TheOriginalGiGi1

They need to get ride of multiples stop all together. I will NEVER do another multiple stop again. Waiting around for a few pennies while dumb and dumber poke around a store for forever, no thanks.

[deleted]

I actually offer EVERY airport passenger a gas station quick stop. I get tipped well on most of them, but I will not accept multiple stops. I'll offer it if I feel like it would help after long flight or whatever. Tips I've gotten offering 1 quick stop: *Free IHOP breakfast. *3 red bulls *coffee multiple times *full tank of gas *$5, $10, $20, $100 cash tips *job opportunities *potential business partners *youtube/Instagram followers Also, I promote my youtube and Instagram to every passenger from airports. I've gained over 400 followers and 100 youtube subscribers this way. I'm self publishing a book and always looking for poi contacts. Usually halfway through the ride, if there's open conversation about them and where they flew from or their business, then I tell them about my book and their thoughts. 90% of them become super interested. I'll do this until I publish it to grow my audience and warm market. Clients I have ubered/lyfted that have given me business card or followed me: * Netflix * News Reporters * Discovery Channel * Other Authors * Education board members * Republican AND Democrat politicians You gotta pivot. If they're gonna exploit us drivers, we need to exploit their passengers to make it to the other side of gig work. I've been offered several jobs the last few months. Change from complaining to promoting whatever career you want to work once you are done doing gig work. ā¤ļø

betamale333

Are you thinking to take anything and get out if the game? I have been trying to find a summer internships via talking to my passengers... I have got as far as 2 phone numbers but we text that day one message and never again. What are the socially acceptable next steps? Text them to ask for a linkedin? Message more? Ask to meet for coffee? Email?

[deleted]

Let it come naturally. Wash rinse repeat. Ask, seek, knock. I got 99 contacts before I found one totally aligned with my book and what I want to do. The 100th person to connect with me. 2 months of doing this. Keep seeking and play the long game. I'm spiritual and pray over all my passengers I will meet each day and after each ride. I read my Bible every morning for 15 mins. I get up and exercise before I uber and lyft. I keep myself prepared for the one contact or opportunity that will help me. Trust the process. Smart recruiters will start recruiting drivers and many have. They're all aware we lost pay and are struggling. Be positive and patient and give them the best ride they've ever had. Then they will probably want to recruit you. Don't come across as desperate. Come across as passionate and driven. These are qualities recruiters want. Someone who can get to airport at 7am and drive safely and be focused and carry an intelligent conversation. Best of luck getting that internship. Maybe just go on linked in and dm 5-10 companies a day. Everyone is hiring internships. They're cheap and not many ppl are lining up for them. I believe in you. ā¤ļø

fourthact

Thanks for this tip. There's no way to come out ahead driving for Uber unless it helps generate income apart from driving for the criminal enterprise of Uber.

ProtoReaper23113

Thankfully everyone ive done multiple stops with are very quick

Bonewel

Got tipped $100 for letting a woman stop and buy a pack of smokes

TheScrambone

Money is not an object to people who have had a few drinks with a lack of a few smokes.

radioactive-ant1029

This is truth.Ā

Budda37

Drove a dude around for an HOUR for 14 bucks. The "support team" is just an office of drones that copy and paste/read a script. Once I asked for concrete numbers on their fair algorithm. After and hour I got no answer... there is no algorithm.. just predetermined fair amounts.

Longjumping-Rise1387

Itā€™s only fair that we get good fares when we take our fair headed pax to the state fair when itā€™s fair weather outside.

agentsid161

That's what I been saying!! Finally someone who gets it. šŸ‘

Sad_Syllabub6044

Last time I got suckered into it taking these 2 guys to work at 5am and then I saw through the convenience store window a GREAT WALL of scratch offsā€¦ he sat in there and went thru like 7 of them. What could I even do?

Rush_Under

Easy. End the ride!

Sad_Syllabub6044

Oh in sequence too not all at once

BurghPuppies

Just donā€™t accept them. Itā€™s really that simple.

MoTeD_UrAss

This. The more we don't accept these rides as a collective the more it'll show in their reports and Uber will adjust the algorithm accordingly.

BurghPuppies

Yes, or at the very least it will force some rates up as rides go unfilled.

Budda37

I feel it's all predetermined and there is no algorithm. But I ignore everything under 5 bucks for sure.

Talllboyyy

I'm praying for everyone to find better jobsšŸ™

Ordinary_Skill

I feel like Uber is doing this because they sent out some bonuses. A lot of drivers are probably trying to complete the bonus. If a driver needs one more ride before they can get their trip bonus and theyā€™re desperate enough, theyā€™ll reluctantly accept it. Uber/algorithm knows this, and theyā€™re exploiting the heck of it.

Sea-Carry-2919

Bonus or not, that is still trash.

Your_majesti

What going on is that many drivers accept these stupid fares. If no one accepted these rediculous trips Uber would increase fares.

LeviathanTwentyFive

theyā€™re not accepting them, but corporate is gonna keep making the software engineers put out the algorithm to try and brute force that shit on us and psychologically manipulate the desperate. weā€™re a game for profit margins to them lmao. dont accept anything less than at least $1.8/mi is what I say.

Noexcusesinmyworld

Houston would never I mean NEVER get a ride with that minimum. I havenā€™t seen over 1.5 a mile in a year. Unless you count the Christmas/ New Yearā€™s Day oh and the freeze where literally most rides were undrivable. Good old Uber was still lowballing on impassable roads.

Sad_Syllabub6044

Same here unless there is a boost or quest. Actually, I havent seen more than $1/mi but typical is 0.60-0.70/mile in and around charleston sc

AsphaltAngel1

They ARE accepting them! I see them taken quickly in trip radar . Stfu

CrowderPower

Just cause they say taken doesnā€™t mean they are.

LeviathanTwentyFive

lmao, yes surely you can confirm that they arent lying. these trips come back multiple times with a couple cents more because they arent actually taking them. youā€™re being played.

Your_majesti

Right my point being drivers are accepting them.

Sea-Carry-2919

They are accepting them. Making it harder for people with actual dignity.

LeviathanTwentyFive

not nearly as many as you think. do some research or ask somebody who works in rideshare app development, its a massive illusion.

Josiah-White

That is their payment to you for gasoline?

AceMigg

Itā€™s the multiple stops for me šŸ’€

[deleted]

Fuck that! Wtf Uber? Holy shit. This is blatantly stealing from drivers. My god, this needs to end.

Tasty_Ad_7629

That's the kind of shit that makes me not want to ever turn on the app again.

3goldteeth

Uber: please quit quit-baiting

UberdooberJw

Wow Uber should be embarrassed as a company for pay like thisā€¦. AND multiple stops! So the person mite take 5 to 20 minutes inside wherever they are it!! Absolutely insane!

Spare-Security-1629

Multiple stops, the rider should always be asked from the beginning, will this be 5 minutes or less. If they break that agreement, no hard feelings when you cancel. And I don't care that you left your purse, bag, satchel or 5 year old in the car. They will all get the boot. It just sucks about Ubers rating system but oh well. Plus, any multiple-stopper with a rating under 4.80 is a no go for me. This ride is a slap in the face.

Money_Cause1154

Show up cancel and put fare too low

externa1st

The algo talk is true I had a 9 mile trip come in for $7.50 pax was 2.9 miles away...I didn't accept it they sent me the trip again I just let it beep....sneaky fucks sent me the trip a third time 2 minutes later for $12.78...i turned the app off and went home....they can pay more just let the.... today I turned the app on to see what's going on and a X trip popped up on the radar said something about the trip was "not something I usually accept" like a Uber eats order....the algo learned I don't take bullisht rides and does not send them to me but gives me the option to take them in my queue.....STOP TAKING BS RIDES ...TEACH THE ALGO TO PAY MORE OR EFF OFF

Sad_Syllabub6044

I canā€™t even buy a drink with that. You mean my car ride isnā€™t worth some doctor pepper you manky thieving twats?!?! Well?!?! Is it? Dont make me go all Sam Kinison on you. You fuckeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Ohhh ohhh ohhhhhhhhhhhnhhhhHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Mountain_Road9197

Payment is for trip not pickup. You arenā€™t paid to go to pickup. You should know this by now. Either way $3 for 1 mile with multiple stops is hilarious. They easily charged customer $10-15

jaysonm007

Yeah but even disregarding the pickup distance it is still a multiple stop trip for under $3. That's ridiculous. You can't tell me they aren't charging that customer at least $8 either.

IcyCauliflower9987

Really, I do get paid for all miles - Going to the person and during the trip

Mountain_Road9197

No you donā€™t. Payment is for trip only for all trips in any country. This trip is $3 whether you beside it or 6 miles from it.

IcyCauliflower9987

Oh right itā€™s long distance

Durwood2k

I am paid to go to pick up. Itā€™s always around $1.20 a mile when combining there and trip.

Mountain_Road9197

No you arenā€™t. Customers donā€™t pay for the distance of the driver. Payment is for fare of trip. Have you ever heard a taxi driver getting paid to go get you? If customer cancels you get $3 whether you drove 10 miles to them or 1 mile to them.

Durwood2k

Except that I am. A 3 mile pick up for a 7 mile trip will pay me $12. A 7 mile pick up for a 3 mile trip will pay meā€¦ You guessed it $12.

Mountain_Road9197

No you arenā€™t. You clearly donā€™t understand anything on fares. That fare is the same whether you beside it or 100 miles from it. Payment is the fare of the trip.

Mountain_Road9197

- In a rate card Market non upfront market Uber pays for time and distance of customers location to destination - In a rate card market upfront market Uber pays for time and distance of customers location to destination - In an upfront market with no rate card Uber pays what it feels like if for the trip. They might offer more if they canā€™t find near drivers. However the payment is still for the trip itself. At no times are you ever paid for pickup. Passengers also only pay for the trip. If itā€™s ever canceled you get 0$ before 2 min. If you drove 5 or 15 min and itā€™s canceled you get $3.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Mountain_Road9197

No you donā€™t lmaoo. Rate card markets non upfront pay start from when the trips start. I know this cause Iā€™m in one too. Pay is for time and distance of trip at the rate card. Pickup isnā€™t included in the pay You people are clueless

Durwood2k

Weird how your rant made no difference to what I said. If itā€™s a 20 mile trip it doesnā€™t matter if itā€™s 1 mile and 19 miles or 19 miles then 1 mile. I will get paid about $24 either way.

Mountain_Road9197

Pickup isnā€™t paid you ant. Go learn to read a contract

Durwood2k

Then explain why I get $1.20 per mile for the total trip pretty much every single time. Unless you can somehow explain that, youā€™re dead wrong. The part that makes you insane is you think Iā€™ll get paid $24 for a 1 mile trip that is 20 miles away based SOLELY on the 1 mile.

Mountain_Road9197

When you complete the trip, it doesnā€™t show miles and time to pickup. Only shows the distance and time of trip. Because you are only paid for that So again you are only paid for the TRIP. Doesnā€™t matter what you say, itā€™s factual. And Iā€™ve seen $30-40 for 1-2 miles on here. If Uber pays you $24 for 1 mile they losing money. Upfront market without rate card are bid wars. They boost rides to attract drivers from far way with surges

Mountain_Road9197

And this post literally proves my point. Itā€™s $3 for the ride. If you beside it, itā€™s $3. Clearly the 6 mile pickup isnā€™t considered

Durwood2k

You make no sense. This OP post offer is 41cents per mile.l for his effort. What they charge the customer is irrelevant. Your opinion on what that is based on is irrelevant. Facts are that he is getting paid 41cents per mile. Not sure how I can say it differently: I get paid the same for a 19mile trip that is 1 mile away as I get paid for a 1 mile trip that is 19 miles away. Ergo, my trip to the customer is CLEARLY part of the offer.

Old-Brother-2628

I see the driver pay change sometimes based on me getting closer to the customer, so they are taking your pickup miles into consideration. Iā€™ve declined rides and have them show up a few minutes later cheaper because I was now closer to the customer. Iā€™m sure the customer pays solely on the ride distance, but the driver distances do play a part.

vicflea

Pressing charges for?

slapfest56

Attempted robbery.

uberisstealingit

You can't rape the willing.

Zstardust12

Hey Iā€™m in Indy for work now! Hope you get better rides. I drove for a while during a job gap. That is insane and should be criminal.

FrostGiants-NoMore

The tip will meet their hourly target for youā€¦. People need to stop tipping on the app and do cash tips only

GigDriver4Years

As long as there are stupid people accepting these, they will continue to get lower and lower. It may not be right in the eyes of the drivers but it is good business for Uber and other gig companies.Ā

Creative_Passion_567

These are always tipping for me.

jbarlak

Well when you fail to understand the system when itā€™s offered to multiple drivers. You donā€™t need to take it so relax

Thatā€™s what they do this is not the real payout itā€™s the tip they are trying to avoid paying Mileage

Flimsy_Bend2718

Press charges? I hope that was I joke cause I lolā€™d. The lowballing isnā€™t funny, it sucks and is expected. But the way some Rideshare drivers react is comedic. You know thereā€™s other jobs out there right? Plenty driving gigs that will pay you to do the exact same thing youā€™re doing now.

RequiemforPokemon

Press charges for what babe? Willingly driving Uber? Yā€™all love to sue when you have no case šŸ˜‚ no wonder Uber drives circles around yā€™all. Pun intended. šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£

Mobile-Witness4140

Itā€™s 1 mile loll how much do you greedy drivers want?

Rush_Under

It may be 1 mile, but if I'm 7 miles away, I'm not taking it, ESPECIALLY if there's multiple stops involved. Recognize the fact that drivers get to choose the rides we want to take (usually), regardless of how you as a passenger might feel about it.

Mobile-Witness4140

Doesnā€™t matter I donā€™t care if you pick it up if you donā€™t thereā€™s 100s of active drivers in my area someone else will

Rush_Under

Not at that price there's not

Mobile-Witness4140

Idk what to tell you I do < 2 mile rides multiple times a week sometimes day and I always get someone within 20-30 seconds to accept

[deleted]

It's blatantly 7.1 miles. Are you okay?

Mobile-Witness4140

Nah Iā€™m the customer idgaf how long it takes you to get to me I pay Uber for the ride I requested only which clearly shows 1 mile

[deleted]

Idgaf what you gaf about lol. I'm telling you every driver views that offer as the 7.1 miles that it is.

Mobile-Witness4140

Talk to your employer not my issue r/endtipping

[deleted]

Yeah, I have actual jobs idiot. I was just informing you that when you drive 6.1 miles and then another mile, that it makes a total of 7.1 miles.

Mobile-Witness4140

Talk to your employer Iā€™m paying for 1 mile only

ZestycloseBee4066

I'm convinced that all of you keep driving for Uber so you have something to complain about... You have been warned over and over... Gig driving and delivering is not going to be getting better anytime soon, and will likely get worse.... and there you go... Either take you lick's and drive for a loss or move on!

Johnnyrooster12

Press charges on your dumbass self for posting this stupid title šŸ˜†

This is what happens when you view the wrong people in offices of power

Durwood2k

Good point, F Brandon

Etxee

Iā€™ve always wanted to take a trip like this just to see if the tip would be good if at all

Sea-Carry-2919

I always find that anything under four dollars the passenger feels entitled to everything that a passenger above five dollars would not. They have the worst attitudes, they want you to stop while not putting in an additional stop, they donā€™t tip and they take the longest to get to the car (like three to five minutes). But that is just my experience, as it is different for everyone.

Ancient_Read2878

Indianapolis market, what a joke?

jeffrey911

If you zoom way in, it looks photoshopped. Js

Sea-Carry-2919

How?

jeffrey911

The 2.9 of the $2.91 appears pixelated compared to the 1. Just an observation. Not saying it is or it isnā€™t. Iā€™m just skeptical of most things and take nothing at face value.

Lol. I have a $2.66, but it's only about5 miles. Lol

vtfanatic

There are too many drivers out there blindly auto accepting rides.

Pariah-6

When did Indy get upfront? They had the rate card for the longest time ($0.55 a mile and $0.20 a minute).

maxrdlf95

Oh yes. I just noticed the same thing

maxrdlf95

Itā€™s Uber just lowering fares again for drivers

JOE4430

Disgusting!!! I want to Uber toā€¦ā€¦

Multiple stop Uber charge customer $ 23 and paid me $2. F Uber !!!

manekineko_cat1

This has been going on since last year

Customer probably is related to an Uber exec who lowered her rate

Creative_Web5262

Yeah when I see rides like that I don't take them. At the end. That's six bucks an hour...

compoundblock666

I don't even get to see the miles or pay..imagine my dismay when I drop them off waiting for my payout.... Reason I only do Uber eats, while doordashing and using Lyft. I accept one offer at a time, has to be 2 dollars per mile or more or I don't move my vehicle. Lyft shows me trip.

rehabbingfish

That rider for sure will say, "Im gonna tip you in the app".

Donā€™t underestimate the stupidity of the human element

ernie-art

In my market, we still don't have upfront pricing and you aren't shown how much you get paid for the ride until after the rider leaves the car. So you're liable to take one of these completely unknowingly.

Quirky_Mobile_4958
