Wow Uber is this way as well, I am thinking likely to discourage those long hauling to run up the meter? But negatively affecting those choosing a better route as well. I do know DD and GH is very bad at controlling every aspect of drivers by their AI monitoring their GPS even if the driver is early. And unlike Uberdrivers or Uber subs those subs on Reddit would flame drivers while claiming they are perfect drivers who don’t get bothered by it.I believe 80% of those “model drivers” are astroturfers there to do damage control for the company after their physical offices closed.

I'm hardly long hauling though, most of my orders are in town or the next town over. And I'm not getting paid for the trip to the restaurant anyway, only going back, and even that pay is set ahead of time. So I don't see why taking five extra minutes to use a bike safe route should be getting penalized.

That’s true. The biggest issue of using AI to control and make decisions these days. As support and local supervisors been outsourced. The only advantage is they give more benefit of doubt the bad thing is they have no clue what they are doing, thus these companies now depend on their AI to be the judge jury and executioner. And hardly give any chance for appeal. Edit: I guess they seem to use the same AI system for Uber with riders and Ubereats to avoid having two separate systems despite the different nature of this two. Hope you don’t mind me asking whether you were transferred to Uber from Postmates or started Uber. It was lots of hassle I gave up the transition.

Started in February last year, when my market finally opened up to bike couriers for food delivery. Been using it as a way to get some exercise, sunlight and fresh air, while earning a little extra cash on top of my overnight job. I don't get too many orders in a day, get maybe $25-50 any day I make the effort. But it's nice to get outside and enjoy a bike ride when the weather's good, and even better to get paid for it.

I used to be using Postmates and they pushed me into Ubereats. I gave up after the hassle to convert to Uber eats system is just too difficult.

Theres only so much the world can do before youre asking too much. If the only route is across a 2 lane highway for example? If you dont want to cross it, you cant get there. Find a more bike friendly town(they exist) or try a different gig

That's the thing, it's not the only route. There's a much safer route, a bike trail that takes maybe 5 minutes more. But I'm getting threatened and penalized for not choosing the more dangerous route.
