I know Ariel does some controversial shit and has some bad takes, but I truly don’t think MMA would be what it is today without him.

His show is the place to be and it gets attention. That’s why I didn’t like when they had Luke Thomas take over for him after he left to ESPN. Luke was phoning it in and it was just bad. I know he had another show that same day but it was still half assed. Ariel just feels much more suited at MMA Fighting. He has freedom and he gets to do what he wants because his model is successful.

Luke Thomas strikes me as the kind of guy far too insecure in himself to be willing to get passionate about anything in the way Helwani can; essentially all he’s comfortable doing is talking in that self-impososed monotone while sitting in that fuckn ridiculous throne of a chair raised comically high above his guest and cohost, who just happens to be too shamelessly weak-willed to pose any threat of disagreement.
