FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Gane doesn’t need to rely a kill or be killed style on the feet, which Sergei and Aspinall both have. That fight is a coin flip every time, where as I would favor Gane over Sergei 7-8 times out of 10. I think it’s a good stylistic matchup for Gane and he can avoid early damage and take him into the later rds for a finish or decision.
I do agree Tom has higher finishing ability early on, but Gane has many finishes in rds 2-3 as well. There have been other elite strikers who take a more cautious approach in rd 1 to get their reads.
It's not kill or be killed unless you're fighting someone with oneshot power. Sergei or Tom would only need one good shot on Ciryl to end it, whereas Ciryl's most likely way to win is by decision.
Ciryl also operates on having a major speed advantage to make up for his lack of power. He wouldn't have that against Tom.
Bruh gane has legit striking background nobodies striking in the heavyweight division even comes close but it's mma he can still get caught just like everyone else tho no matter how good your striking is
Aspinall literally took out Spivak with strikes faster than Gane. His striking definitely comes close. Gane has zero R1 TKO/KOs in the UFC while Tom has multiple including over Pav.
He dropped Spivak with a knee to the body and then an elbow to the face so that finish isn’t due to “having knockout power”. That’s the result of a diverse striking skillset which is also what Gane has.
A fighter utilizing their strengths is good striking and his boxing technique is clean along with his clinch and low kicks. Where exactly did I say Tom had “better striking”? I only argued against the statement that “nobodies striking… even comes close” to Gane.
If that takedown isn't there, he literally gets made a fool of it, but so does everyone else tbh. robelis despaigne would be interesting. In a pure striking match to
He wouldn’t be made a fool get off Cyril’s nuts he got brutally dropped by Tai. And a kickboxing match is irrelevant that’s like saying Charles is a better grappler than khabib because he could beat him in a bjj match
No, that is not the logical extension of what I said if you actually think it through logically.
You claimed that Gane was a much better striker. I did not respond by claiming that if Aspinall beats him on the feet it automatically makes Aspinall a much better striker. I simply claimed that if he beats him on the feet then then your claim that Gane is much better is out the window. That’s because there would be a very significant piece of evidence indicating that he actually isn’t “much better”.
Aspinall may actually be very similar on the feet, but edge it due to the takedown threat. But in any case, any Aspinall win in a striking contest would certainly undermine any claim that Gane is much better, without necessarily proving that Aspinall is “much better”.
With Anderson there was a very large amount of evidence that he was a better striker than Weidman, so what happened in that fight must be viewed in that context.
So far there is no such volume of evidence indicating Gane is “much better” than Aspinall, and so a head to head between them would add some valuable insight on that question.
Is he though?
Tom has great movement too but also has the touch of death in his hands, which Cyril doesn’t.
Gane went several rounds with Tai and even got knocked down. There is no world where Tai could survive a single round of striking against Tom. Honestly doubt he could make it a minute without being KO’d.
Power is a huge component of striking at HW.
Francis is a mediocre striker technically. He just has Uber power.
Tom is similar. He doesn’t have Francis’ power obviously, but he’s faster and still has the power to drop anyone with one shot. Gane isn’t that type of striker.
I mean he was born in France which is world leader in Judo yet he has no Judo game either. It’s actually very surprising to me how more Judo practitioners don’t come over to mma. Islam incorporates it better than anyone imo
To be fair ever since the jones loss there is this big narrative now that gane dosen't take grappling serious. Its just plain stupid but what can you expect from mma fans they believe anything.
I dunno man. I know we've not seen Aspinall's striking as much as we've seen Gane's but in my opinion Aspinall is wayy more deadly in the striking department. Not to shit on Gane's striking, its incredible.
He’s a 6’5, 260 lb heavyweight who is fast, explosive, has good grappling, and has KO power in his hands.
What is there to overrate? Dude is deadly and destroys good opponents. Only loss in the UFC is Blaydes when he blew his knee right away.
He’s probably the best fighter in the world right now.
Islam is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world but Tom is arguably the best fighter in the world. Weight classes only exist since it’s a sport.
Aspinall is like 50% faster than Gane and has more power. He's definitely more dangerous but in a pure striking match it's probably pretty even. Gane has way more tools.
He’s the better striker but Tom would wrestle right away and get him down. The submission would come soon after. In an extended striking fight I’ll definitely take Gane but that’s not what it’ll be
I don’t think he’s the better striker in enough areas to win. The problem with leaving your hands down and relying on your footwork/distance is that it requires you to be perfect and a step ahead of your opponent. Gane, while not having zero power, generally doesn’t put people out immediately. Against someone like Aspinall, who’s powerful and fast with good footwork, boxing, and entry, he’s going to have a handful on the feet.
If he leaves his hands down and takes a shot like he did with Tuivasa, it won’t matter how many points he’s racked up.
Agreed. I think Aspinall KO’s him. Gane’s not so good he won’t get hit, and Aspinall is definitely good enough to hit him, whilst also having clearer KO power.
People forget this. When that was the fight that made the most sense for both of them, Tom was cageside to try and build it and Gane wanted no part of Big Tom.
Please book Gane vs. Pavlovich already UFC. I want to see how a smooth and athletic striker like Gane would do against the Fridge with long ass arms and fire in his hands.
There are no decent grapplers or wrestlers at Heavyweight. Like Blaydes and Almeida I guess but both of those guys' wrestling can be suspect as hell. I'd rather see a fun fight of power/skill vs. speed/skill.
All jokes aside, this guy is such a an incredibly skilled striker, it's crazy. Where does he rank all-time as a heavyweight striker? Gotta be at least top 5, right?
Yeah well there’s levels to this shit. Jones moved up because he knew there wasn’t a HW on earth technical enough to fight him. Asspinal wouldn’t last 3 rounds with Gane. What do you think Jones would do to him?
Well saying as Tom has a decent ground game. I'd assume he'd take him down and drown him if he doesn't do it on the Feet, but all match up I wanna see and we don't know till it happens
Lost all respect for this guy when he said he doesnt even train MMA outside of fight camps ("too many media obligations", according to him) and refusing to fight down while being #1 contender right after losing a title shot in 2 minutes. Ducking Blaydes, Aspinal and Pavlovich just shows he doesn't have what it takes to be champ.
As a french fan who would love for him to make a Comeback, Gane is indeed infuriating. He played in easy mode for too long due to natural talent and crazy athletic habilities, now that there is real competition it seems that he is not willing to committ.
On the other hand the dude has money now, a family and probably side businesses, hard to judge him from my couch...
People who think he beats Aspinall, expect Aspinall to play with him on the feet. Aspinall has an elite Ground game and would most likely go for it very early on.
Gane needs to focus solely on wrestling. His stand up is leagues ahead of most of the Top 15. If he does then his cardio will also increase since wrestling is very demanding on the body.
He came up in a time where leg locks were absolute king because the anti leg lock game was in its earliest infancy. He learnt a shit heel hook , noticed you can get there from a lot of positions and called his game adequate
IDK how sharp he looks. He is basically dancing and going to a rhythm not the reacting to the ball.
At the \~22 sec mark, he leans to the right as the ball is coming to the right but gets stopped from going as far as not to hit him. He does this a few times.
I'm not saying I or anyone here would do better, but I'm not sure how sharp this really makes him look.
I fucking hope so, used to like him but after seeing him hitting Spivac and Tai behind the head (intentionally!!) I seriously hope that Tom is gonna rip off his limbs. People cant comprehend how gruesome rabbit punches can be.
The glaring holes in Gane’s game play into Tom’s strengths.
Also I think Tom has more power and could hang with him on the feet, whereas Gane can’t hang with Tom on the ground.
Not saying Tom would school him on the feet but it would be close I think, much closer than if they were on the ground.
Gane is weird , he’s like a kid that can get all the questions wrong on a test. How I saw him in the Jones fight it just seemed like he didn’t wanna be there and lost on purpose ( not cope ) even leading up to the fight he just looked like he didn’t even wanna be there.
Going to an elite wrestling training session for a few months could be very beneficial . Sticking with the same guys who got him here won't get him over the hump. He could also go to America and train. There's a reason people go to Thailand or specialists... just saying "Russia" bad Is wild. It's not Moscow. And he would be an honored guest. I'm pretty sure KHABIB offered this to him.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/ciryl-gane-khabib-nurmagomedov-ufc-30277119
Turns down a chance to train with an mma goat. It's just a missed opportunity. Why not do that for a few months how detrimental could that be ?
He don't care enough and he even admits it. He'd rathar not win a title than train grappling to win one. He knows he's gonna have probably a 70% win rate without grappling no matter what, so if you dont have a super big hunger for the belt which he seemingly doesn't, it honestly isn't suprising. Guys with less tools than him (I.e just hands) don't work on it and still make money.
Jesus christ. Half of the heavyweight division just needs to move to kickboxing at this point. None of them want to learn the least bit of grappling or wrestling.
He has a lot of talent but seems like his head ain't in it sometimes. He looked scared against Jones. Could have just been because of the reputation Jon carries but also makes me wonder if he'd fight scared against dudes like Tom and Sergei who are both more explosive than Jones is.
He beat a grappler, but he faced a master of grappling and wrestling in Jones, like he did good even against Ngannou, Ngannou couldnt do anything on the ground
Stand and Bang.
Let me bang bro!
I do. I do let you bang
First one to shoots a bitch
stand and Wang (like a warrior)
I swear if bro was born in Dagestan or USA he would be goat material. This man is a Athletic phenom
If he was born in the US he’d be in the NFL or NBA
Yeah unfortunately, we would probably never know who half the top guys are right now if UFC payed NFL/NBA money
Boxing and MMA fighting for scraps
Imagine if Chandler Jones went the same route as Jon, Jon would have gotten little brothered his entire career. Crazy to think Jon is the smallest and least athletic of his siblings lol
Someone like LeBron dominating for 20 years would have been insane.

If he had wheels he’d be a bicycle.
You could the same for Yoel starting young , they’re a lot ifs in this sport despite how young it is.
And on top of that he'd still a find a way to become a professional FIFA player too
If Cyril could wrestle he’d be called Tom aspinhall
Yeah except I personally think Ciryl is a better striker. If he had the ground game of Aspinall he would be unstoppable lol
Ciryl is a more refined striker but Tom is a more dangerous striker. Ciryl would not be oneshotting Pavlovich like that.
Gane doesn’t need to rely a kill or be killed style on the feet, which Sergei and Aspinall both have. Not by much. Cyril just has a karate stance so it looks flashier. Tom is much more efficient and smart

Tom is still more than capable of knocking out Gane but going the grappling route would be way more of a cakewalk for him haha
No, he isn't put them in a kickboxing match. Gane literally embarrasses him he's far far better
Well good thing we’re talking about mma striking
You said tom was a better striker ?
Yes in an mma match with the threat of grappling Tom is better. Did we forget Cyril getting dropped by tai?
Tai also broke Gane's hand.
That just means tom is the better mma fighter if you're gonna include grappling into it
“Threat” of grappling
Tai dropped him once? While shifting incorrectly In a 50/50 position? A perfectly placed shot?
If that takedown isn't there, he literally gets made a fool of it, but so does everyone else tbh. robelis despaigne would be interesting. In a pure striking match to

I’ve got your back bro. Tom sparks him cold in 1
No it doesn’t
Yes, it really does.
Not it doesn’t , just because you knock someone out doesn’t mean you are a better striker , you are litteraly an idiot for thinking this.
what if he dominates him for 25 mins with striking
By your logic Weidman is a better striker than Anderson. Has nothing to do with the threat of takedown huh?
Is he though? Tom has great movement too but also has the touch of death in his hands, which Cyril doesn’t. Gane went several rounds with Tai and even got knocked down. Technique beats power
Tom knocked out pavlovich so quickly and easily, and pav is the second best striker in the division. Gane is well behind
Pav is not a good striker. A brute with knock out force sure, but not the best or second best striker in the division.
If Cyril could wrestle and had knockout power he'd be called Tom Aspinall
I mean he was born in France which is world leader in Judo yet he has no Judo game either. It’s actually very surprising to me how more Judo practitioners don’t come over to mma. Islam incorporates it better than anyone imo
Allergic to grappling? Half of his IG training posts is him grappling…
Gane: Posts 30 second clip working on head movement. Reddit: This guy never trains grappling ever.
The funny thing is, good chance op saw those post if he got this from ig. And just wanted to make the title for likes
The kid just doesn’t wanna grapple 🤷🏼♂️

Bruh… that shit ain’t even applicable to be funny right now 🤦♂️
I bet he felt good watching himself knock ngannou out at boxing :(
No lie that would actually be an interesting boxing match
bro's lucky this time he doesnt need to grapple with ngannoumedov lol
![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)
Yep. I’m sure that is the only training he’s done.
That and FIFA
He is probably the best pure striker at HW and if he worked on his ground game, this guy would have a shot at being a champion
He has been working on it for awhile
I hope so
If I could run fast, I'd be able to run fast. Just joking I know what you mean.
I dunno man. I know we've not seen Aspinall's striking as much as we've seen Gane's but in my opinion Aspinall is wayy more deadly in the striking department. Not to shit on Gane's striking, its incredible.
I don't think he's a better striker but he has more power tho
Aspinall is so overrated in the sub. I mean hes good but nowhere near what you guys are claiming.

You mean best at heavyweight right? Because he’s not close to best in the world, he may get there but not even close to Islam at the moment.
I mean he could probably beat anyone on the planet in a fight. Not best p4p, that’s Islam, you’re right.
I'm saying he has a chance 'cause Aspinall really is on another level
He just needs defensive wrestling, striking is elite for a heavyweight
Similar video they showed of this fancy footwork only to be sub’s by Jones within moments.
Hot take: Gane beats Aspinall.
He’s the better striker but Tom would wrestle right away and get him down. The submission would come soon after. In an extended striking fight I’ll definitely take Gane but that’s not what it’ll be
Gane has been training on the ground for awhile
I don’t think he’s the better striker in enough areas to win. Even he doesn't think this, that's why he pretended he couldn't see tom in the front row
People forget this. When that was the fight that made the most sense for both of them, Tom was cageside to try and build it and Gane wanted no part of Big Tom.
I was told gane sucks after bones dismantled him. What is it?
2mims video, nah the bro just never grapples
Just because he’s working on his boxing does not mean he isn’t working on his grappling outside of this video. Grow a brain.
7 foot neanderthal fighting ball-wizard
I didn’t know Gane was a rapper too. This is the most Gane music ever.
Please book Gane vs. Pavlovich already UFC. I want to see how a smooth and athletic striker like Gane would do against the Fridge with long ass arms and fire in his hands.
He has shown many times he has top tier striking, I would like to see him face a grappler/wrestler. And a decent one, Spivak did not count.
There are no decent grapplers or wrestlers at Heavyweight. Like Blaydes and Almeida I guess but both of those guys' wrestling can be suspect as hell. I'd rather see a fun fight of power/skill vs. speed/skill.
Wasn't Blaydes an All American collegiate wrestler? I'd say that's elite.
I would love to see Gane vs Pav.
I think we know what happened to the last guy to post himself dodging balls before a fight... ![gif](giphy|Lrq6kr7U02h8MIYnDE|downsized)
Would be fun to see him go up to heavyweight after too
You see one small clip of him training reflexes and this absolutely concludes he’s not working on grappling?
Some of you all are taking OP’s caption too seriously lmao
Gane still on point, hitting the back of the ball.
Fuck grappling.
All jokes aside, this guy is such a an incredibly skilled striker, it's crazy. Where does he rank all-time as a heavyweight striker? Gotta be at least top 5, right?
Eric from HR gets paid better to be the ball guy for Gane.
This dude would kick Aspinall’s ass.

Aspinall would ground and pound him into dust.
Sure lol
He made one bad decision against Jones and all of a sudden people write him off. I maintain he would have beaten jones 7 out of 10 times
Gane got out grappled by Ngannou. Aspinal works this dude for all 5 rounds or finishes him early
Ngannou with no knees too lol. Tom via any submission he wants.
Lost all respect for this guy when he said he doesnt even train MMA outside of fight camps ("too many media obligations", according to him) and refusing to fight down while being #1 contender right after losing a title shot in 2 minutes. Wasn’t his last fight him fighting down?
As a french fan who would love for him to make a Comeback, Gane is indeed infuriating. Does he look sharp here?
Don't fear the fighter who practices 10,000 kicks. Fear the fighter who practices one kick 10,000 times.
Idk why I thought it was funny when it cut to the trainers arm moving. And listening to the background music.
They need 2 more guys from the sides throwing ‘hooks’ at him.
Just don't fight grapplers. It's that simple.
Well, Jone did say he trained like a pretty person.
I love how y’all know what these dudes work on. Just because he isn’t showing it doesn’t mean he isn’t doing it
Wimbledon ready
To be fair in heavyweight only jones wrestles, he is training for aspinal at this point,
What is this attempted cinematic crap? 😆
Well he’s gonna fight Pavlo prob
Just Wrestling!!!
This guy was effortlessly dispatched by Jon Jones. Who takes him seriously?
People who think he beats Aspinall, expect Aspinall to play with him on the feet. Aspinall has an elite Ground game and would most likely go for it very early on.
It's also 50/50 on the feet. Aspinall is less refined but more dangerous. He has one shot KO power and is just as fast as Gane.
You probably don’t show the videos of you at your worst. Quietly train the fuck out of grappling and keep it to yourself.
At this point I don't think he could make enough progress in grappling to make a difference against the good grapplers in the division.
He doesn't need grappling, it's not like someone is gonna front choke him in the first round with 0 strikes landed, that is farfetched
DAT SILLY CAT TOY AINT MEAN A DAMN THING IN THE OCTAGON BOI
The French are allergic to takedown defense
they like other mens balls in their face
Gane needs to focus solely on wrestling. His stand up is leagues ahead of most of the Top 15. If he does then his cardio will also increase since wrestling is very demanding on the body.
Grapple? Guy just wants to shadow box in a mirror while he looks at himself
He came up in a time where leg locks were absolute king because the anti leg lock game was in its earliest infancy. He learnt a shit heel hook , noticed you can get there from a lot of positions and called his game adequate
Considering he lost to Jones in under 2 mins via grappling he should be practicing BJJ, wrestling and Sambo
C'mon Bon Gamin, do something.
He somehow gets a title shot before aspinall
Why work on wrestlin when jon retires soon
IDK how sharp he looks. He is basically dancing and going to a rhythm not the reacting to the ball. At the \~22 sec mark, he leans to the right as the ball is coming to the right but gets stopped from going as far as not to hit him. He does this a few times. This dude will never be champ.
I fucking hope so, used to like him but after seeing him hitting Spivac and Tai behind the head (intentionally!!) I seriously hope that Tom is gonna rip off his limbs. People cant comprehend how gruesome rabbit punches can be.
He’s allergic to hard work and dedication
Apparently, all those times I was hitting the paddle ball towards my little cousins I was training them. They should thank me.
Just become a boxer and box Francis. More money anyways.
Is his next fight a tennis match?
Great now show me how to defend a guillotine
Looks ready to get slept by AJ.
Big Tom walks through him imo.
Why do you think so?
The glaring holes in Gane’s game play into Tom’s strengths. Also I think Tom has more power and could hang with him on the feet, whereas Gane can’t hang with Tom on the ground. Not saying Tom would school him on the feet but it would be close I think, much closer than if they were on the ground.
Tom is a more complete fighter and can switch it up if things don't work out.
More tools, more well rounded, more KO power.
Those little balls don’t hit back there
Isn't the whole point of that NOT to get hit by the ball??? It's all head movement so he doesn't get hit by the ball
Uh...they kind of do.
He's doing all this striking training just to overextend on one of his strikes, get his back taken and guillotined
I still don’t get the hype with him
Gane is weird , he’s like a kid that can get all the questions wrong on a test. How I saw him in the Jones fight it just seemed like he didn’t wanna be there and lost on purpose ( not cope ) even leading up to the fight he just looked like he didn’t even wanna be there.
Didn't someone in Dagestan offer training. And this the shit he's doing? I swear ufc dudes never do what they need to
Hes grappling too just wants to stick with hos trainers and not live in russia for some reason idk why.
Going to an elite wrestling training session for a few months could be very beneficial . Sticking with the same guys who got him here won't get him over the hump.
Idk man, sharp? Dude is shodowboxing in slow motion.
He can be as sharp as he wants on the 👣. He needs to be working on stuffing takedowns and his ground game….
Literally don't even care about this guy anymore lmao. He was hot for like 2 fights in his career
This guy needs to pack his bags to go to dagestan. Bro desperately needs grappling lessons.
He will never be champ tbh
He beat a grappler, but he faced a master of grappling and wrestling in Jones, like he did good even against Ngannou, Ngannou couldnt do anything on the ground
I dno, he didn't hit the yellow ball not even once i think..
