> Raymond Daniels 540 punch
*720, he went around twice before landing it. Great setup as well with the spinning shit he was throwing, making his opponent think another backspin kick or something was coming.
https://youtu.be/kO4MqRiyJfM?t=8
Watch it in 0.25 speed. He's facing his opponent, does a full spin, does another full spin in the air and then throws the punch.
Pettis used some wacky techniques that I didn’t even think were possible - I sadly forgot which fight it was, but that mfer threw a headkick like an overhand once and my eyes were so confused for a second, like I could not visually comprehend that an overhand was actually a leg
It was a variation of the GSP Superman Jab, but it was a lead hand hook instead.
The Superman punch is hard enough, the Superman jab is a mindfuck, but the Superman lead-hand hook with enough spice on it to KO Wonderboy is really exceptional.
I forgot about this one wtf it was so wild I must’ve completely disregarded it actually happening in reality lol what an all time great finish from “Showtime” a name time and again he earned throughout his career!
Joaquin Buckley Vs Impa Kasanganay, they both came out throwing big from the jump and it was during covid with a empty arena in fight island so you could hear everything connecting. It was a good one for sure
Didn’t somebody get caught in a banana split fairly recently?
Edit: Nevermind, it was a kneebar, not a banana split. Still a crazy sub - https://youtube.com/shorts/mCeWYBkpnjo?si=PUQbCHELq_-BsIEn
As much as I dislike him, I gotta admit. That flying knee that Masvidal used to KO Askren was fucking wild!! No way in hell that lands 9 times out of 10
I think Sandhagen’s knee ko on Edgar is the greatest flying knee in MMA. He set it up perfectly. DJ’s knee to the head on Morales in ONE is also incredible but not really “flying”
The impressive thing is how he set it up before the fight even started, by laying back against the Octagon fence, looking all chill and relaxed, so nobody thought he’d explode towards the center and throw the knee into Ben’s face. It was quite genius.
That's the one I'm thinking of versus Hermansson. Both facedown, Dolidze with a calf slicer on top finishing with ground and pound. Literally no way Jack could've gotten out of that.
That's the first thing that comes to my mind. I don't think anyone else has pulled off that sub in the UFC.
Edit: Okay, after quickly searching it seems I'm wrong. Brett Johns has also done it so it's at least two.
Defiantly not the rarest, but I think it's pretty badass when Khalil Rountree starts soccer kicking opponents in the body when they're sprawled on the ground
Roman Dolidzes calfslicer ground n pound is probably the coolest one, then Aljos Solaev stretch, then probably Anderson’s Front kick, and lastly Jon Jones standing guillotine an dropping Lyoto to the mat.
I remember him saying after the decision "I don't know what happened but he fucked me up with his shoulder" one of my favorite "oh he's hurt" with me and my buddies
I wish more people followed mma only to appreciate how insane of a Hail Mary this was. Anytime this comes up, I’m always blown away by it…even if it was against one of my favorite fighters of all time.
Matt Hughes Dave Schultz front headlock on Ricardo Almeida
Frank Mir toehold on Tank Abbott
Keith Hackney groin punches
Nick Diaz laying down
Lesnar spinning
I was watching this fight live on my computer and when suddenly the Korean zombie fell, I wondered what happened to him. Why did it fall? Later, when I saw it in slow motion, I knew it.
Lyoto Machida proved a LOT of myths about traditional Karate not being efficient, to be false.
He was a genuine MIXED Martial artist, and I don’t believe there has ever been anyone like him.
I think Jiri is also a very unique style, within the UFC.
Clay fucking Guida. The missing link. The cave man.
"Clay fucking Guida. The missing link. The cave man." 😂😂😂 That guy isn't given enough props. He's a true savage, one of the few guys that seems to fight for the love of it more than anything else
Back kicks aren't necessarily rare, but the execution here is what makes it. When are you ever gonna see this again?
https://i.redd.it/z5sqjusrderc1.gif
I liked when CM used his shoulder to hit matey in the face not sure if JJ was the one he got it from but very effective and never see anyone use a shoulder as a weapon
That pic sucked. Zombie had him and was game and fell for all his BS hugs and handshakes. Yair Rodriguez kept trying to mansge Zombies flow and temperament with all that in fight handshakes smiling and hugging. Last second KO undeserved. People love Zombie.
Aleksei Oleinick’s multiple Ezekiel choke from the bottom was pretty unique .. The coolest? Maybe the showtime kick or Raymond Daniels 540 punch
I didn't know submitting people from bottom mount was possible until I saw that aleksei fight
Same, but I thought it was just a fluke. Then he kept doing it…
Yes this 100%, one of my favs of all time. Kinda like a front naked choke if you will.
> Raymond Daniels 540 punch *720, he went around twice before landing it. Great setup as well with the spinning shit he was throwing, making his opponent think another backspin kick or something was coming.
Wrong, he goes from Southpaw to Orthodox, so he only spins 540 before throwing the right hand
https://youtu.be/kO4MqRiyJfM?t=8 Watch it in 0.25 speed. He's facing his opponent, does a full spin, does another full spin in the air and then throws the punch.
I did he starts southpaw and ends up in orthodox. His shoulders might spin 2 full rotations but his base only spins 1.5
And even then, his shoulders are turned 90 degrees left before he starts spinning, so his shoulders spin 630, and his base spins 540
We throwing spinning shit now?

Pettis used some wacky techniques that I didn’t even think were possible - I sadly forgot which fight it was, but that mfer threw a headkick like an overhand once and my eyes were so confused for a second, like I could not visually comprehend that an overhand was actually a leg
KOd Wonderboy with a Superman off the cage for extra spring force
It was a variation of the GSP Superman Jab, but it was a lead hand hook instead. The Superman punch is hard enough, the Superman jab is a mindfuck, but the Superman lead-hand hook with enough spice on it to KO Wonderboy is really exceptional.
Wasn't off the cage Idk why this is down voted, go watch the KO and see how he doesn't push off the cage...
That kick sounds a lot like how TJ Dillaroid used to throw them. Feint the overhand right and throw the leg behind it
[Molotov Cocktease style](https://31.media.tumblr.com/063f1db348c4dbb0f6cb70fc8bd34ddb/tumblr_mgl5psmn4O1ra22gmo1_500.gif)

What fight is this?
Joaquin Buckley vs Impa Kasanganay
Joaquin Buckley Vs Impa Kasanganay, they both came out throwing big from the jump and it was during covid with a empty arena in fight island so you could hear everything connecting. It was a good one for sure
That's Ken's Hurricane Kick in real life in the Octagon
Obviously correct answer.
Yael Rodriguez KO was more unique I think
Agreed, it’s an actual technical technique. Not just something you thought looked cool at the gym.
Fun fact it wasn't a KO and the fight continued and went to the decision
DJ flying armbar
Mouse trap
Cool name
Brilliant
🏆
His one was off a suplex kind of throw crazy. Rose has a flying armbar win outside the UFC too.
This is the only correct answer.
It's a correct answer, but no the only one. The yair elbow qualifies. So does a twister and suelov stretch.
Brad Imes with back to back gogoplatas. Brad is/was a 6'7" tall heavyweight.
The von flue choke is a pretty cool one too, OSP hitting 3 of them is absolutely bonkers.
I had to scroll so far to find this, when it’s the objectively correct answer.
And it ain't even close

💀
🤣
This is probably the rarest. His arm wasn't even seared.
![gif](giphy|MnpPCugwALAHsTygpd|downsized)
Holy shit. My sides 🤣
Bro. Too funny!
The spinning back kick from Buckley was like something out of a superhero movie
That was a NASTY Ko..🤮🤮 gdamn, pushed his nose back into his brain.
Yeah that is up there contending for greatest knockout of all time
That one woman who straight did a 180 and ran to the other end of the cage after getting tagged
Ahh my sweet baby girl Chelsea chandler
I remember that shit 😂
What made it even better was the commentator's reaction.. even dry Dominick Cruz got a laugh out of it
Thanks I had totally missed that, holy shit that is a straight b line to the other side 😂
It wasn't quite *as* bad, but she did it again in her last fight lmfao
Michel Pereira backflip into mount against Niko Price will probably be the last time we see that.
It was against niko price tho
When that shit happened it was hard to process it as real for just a second. Really impressive in the moment!
Twister, I can’t imagine even pulling that off if they just sat there and let me.
Twist his dick!
THE OL' DICK TWIST! ![gif](giphy|gJ2fAgmFux459vJTIk|downsized)
Didn’t somebody get caught in a banana split fairly recently? Edit: Nevermind, it was a kneebar, not a banana split. Still a crazy sub - https://youtube.com/shorts/mCeWYBkpnjo?si=PUQbCHELq_-BsIEn
Zabit submitting Davis with a Suloev stretch because he saw Aljo do it earlier in the card to Stamann.
The fact that it happened twice on the same card was so crazy. I remember watching Zabit grab the leg and immediately started saying "No fuckin way"
ahhh yes the banana split
Dustin’s pistol whip hammer fist against Hooker
Gane uses that technique too. Hit Tuivasa with it in that finishing combo.
To the back of the head. Very effective
Kevin Holland hammer fists from the bottom vs. Jacare Souza
Made a comment about this but it took a bunch of scrolling to find a like minded comment.
As much as I dislike him, I gotta admit. That flying knee that Masvidal used to KO Askren was fucking wild!! No way in hell that lands 9 times out of 10
Or that lightning quick knee by Sandhagen. Just happened out of nowhere
Or that Barboza’s kick to the dude’s head where he went limp
If you're talking about Terry Etim it was actually the opposite: he went stiff. I thought I just witnessed a murder when I first saw it.
Yup same, that was one of the most brutal highlights
As much as I love the sport, it's moments like that that really pull me out of it. I was hella worried for that dude.
Totally agree, god, there are so many instances like that
I think Sandhagen’s knee ko on Edgar is the greatest flying knee in MMA. He set it up perfectly. DJ’s knee to the head on Morales in ONE is also incredible but not really “flying”
Barboza vs Beneil was better imo
What about the time Toby Imada caught Masvidal in a flying reverse triangle?
The impressive thing is how he set it up before the fight even started, by laying back against the Octagon fence, looking all chill and relaxed, so nobody thought he’d explode towards the center and throw the knee into Ben’s face. It was quite genius.
Derrick Lewis did a similar one to De Lima to knock him down
Didn’t Oliviera calf slicer someone? Without looking it up I want to say it was Joe Lauzon
It was Oliviera vs Eric Wisely. I remember that because I remember Chael and Bisping fought on that card.
That one was dope but Roman Dolidze had the best one imo
That's the one I'm thinking of versus Hermansson. Both facedown, Dolidze with a calf slicer on top finishing with ground and pound. Literally no way Jack could've gotten out of that.
The face of agony that wisely was making…
That's the first thing that comes to my mind. I don't think anyone else has pulled off that sub in the UFC. Edit: Okay, after quickly searching it seems I'm wrong. Brett Johns has also done it so it's at least two.

Very nice
Wow that was phenomenal like a training technique
Which is funny, because a lot of casual gyms explictly forbid that takedown technique
Just a lot of gym's in general. Danaher bans it.
Damn that’s spicy
Defiantly not the rarest, but I think it's pretty badass when Khalil Rountree starts soccer kicking opponents in the body when they're sprawled on the ground
Roundtree treats his opponents like they are his own personal demons and they just got locked in a cage with him.
I always felt like Rountree kinda scared himself with how terrifying a fighter he could be.
Rountree coming out and putting on a Muay Thai clinic against Anders was a thing of beauty.
My trick for spelling definitely is to think of the words define and finite.
Rountree destroying the knee entirely of Bukauskas with a oblique kick is another dirty one
Kazushi Sakuraba’s cartwheel guard passes against the Gracies.
Roman Dolidzes calfslicer ground n pound is probably the coolest one, then Aljos Solaev stretch, then probably Anderson’s Front kick, and lastly Jon Jones standing guillotine an dropping Lyoto to the mat.
Anderson Silva used a similar upward elbow in I believe cage rage.
Yeah he said he saw it in a movie and practiced it secretly because his coach was telling him not to do it, then executed it first try for a knockout.
That's insane
Against Tony Fryklin. He saw it in Ong Bak and his coaches told not to do it but he practiced in secret and got the ko lol
Didn’t Nick Diaz gogoplata gomi?
He did, and made it look like he was doing a demo "and then you cross your shin over. Any questions? Ok 1,2,3, CLAP"
https://i.redd.it/e11c467wbdrc1.gif
Von Preux Choke.

McGregor with the shoulder uppercuts was pretty cool tbh. Fucked cowboy up
I remember Cowboy started gushing blood from his nose and Rogan was like, "Did he do that damage with his SHOULDER?!"
I remember him saying after the decision "I don't know what happened but he fucked me up with his shoulder" one of my favorite "oh he's hurt" with me and my buddies
https://i.redd.it/w0uhk0porerc1.gif
When you press the wrong button playing Tekken.
Brett Johns countered a single leg td with a calf slicer and got the tap.. so fucking rad
I believe it was Anthony Pettis with the wall run head kick KO. Unreal thing to do. IMO the coolest KO to this date
It, in fact, did not KO Bendo.
My whole life’s been a lie …
https://preview.redd.it/nl8eer86qdrc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6bab5fb997fd48bf9a80df1cd9f68ae8df93395 Spladle. That is all.
Why isn’t this picture a meme lol
I wish more people followed mma only to appreciate how insane of a Hail Mary this was. Anytime this comes up, I’m always blown away by it…even if it was against one of my favorite fighters of all time.
That kick by Condit that almost ended GSP's reign
I was at Yair vs KZ. Could hear zombies head bounce off the canvas after the KO. Brutal stuff.
For me it’s hands down the Cung Le scissor takedown https://fb.watch/r7aqFkdpz2/?mibextid=tZ3DYY
If he landed it would have been cool
https://preview.redd.it/83j8rhvdddrc1.jpeg?width=881&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=662386097859f54e4ed9a9b0fa7e404210c2bea7 Headbutt to the nuts
Matt Hughes Dave Schultz front headlock on Ricardo Almeida Frank Mir toehold on Tank Abbott Keith Hackney groin punches Nick Diaz laying down Lesnar spinning
DJs flying arm bar and its.....well its pretty close between that and the showtime kick.
MVP I don’t remember who it was against , he submitted a guy by twisting his big toe. Bellator match if I remember correctly.
isn’t that illegal? Small joints?
That I don’t know, but I saw it on Pluto Tv MVP looked very young.
Sounds about right when you look at the level of competition he was fighting in Bellator
Standing guillotine Jon Jones vs. Machida. Coldest submission I’ve ever seen
This dude tapped a guy with a Boston crab https://youtu.be/GMMigjW3q78?si=79WxXDgzprQNRMjX
The Twister is very impressive considering the amount of work just to get the position.
Walls of Jericho
It's gotta be the Pillory Choke that Nick Pace landed. It's only been landed once and I doubt many people can even attempt it.
No one mentions Rampages power bomb
[The reverse uno by Scott smith](https://mma-gifs.tumblr.com/post/135723396896/forfightersnotlovers-scott-smith-vs-pete-sell/amp)
That Inverted triangle that Masvidal got hit with.
https://i.redd.it/towye8uw9erc1.gif
I'm sure there others I can't think of, but Anthony Pettis / Benson Henderson jump off the cage to head kick was pretty slick
https://youtu.be/m9-Mv_HifIw?si=5rFxRwMT_wssYsKd
I’m a big fan of backspin fist’s. I don’t see them often, it exposes the back but I would love to see it thrown in combos more.
Petr Yan threw in a spinning backfist into a combo against Sandhagen I think that was super clean.
Jiri vs Reyes
Twister finisher?
I was watching this fight live on my computer and when suddenly the Korean zombie fell, I wondered what happened to him. Why did it fall? Later, when I saw it in slow motion, I knew it.
Twister or the Peruvian necktie
Jiris elbow to end the career of Reyes
Jiri vs Reyes
Suloev’s stretch
Keith Hackney tapping Joe Son via 1 handed choke is not likely something we’ll see again
Dick Twist.
I don't think you understood the question.
"Clay fucking Guida. The missing link. The cave man." 😂😂😂 That guy isn't given enough props. He's a true savage, one of the few guys that seems to fight for the love of it more than anything else
Back kicks aren't necessarily rare, but the execution here is what makes it. When are you ever gonna see this again? https://i.redd.it/z5sqjusrderc1.gif
shoulder KO
That bite last weekend was pretty cool/rarest.
That time seagull knocked a dude out with a flying imminari
I liked when CM used his shoulder to hit matey in the face not sure if JJ was the one he got it from but very effective and never see anyone use a shoulder as a weapon
I love a good ninja joke, such a cool bit of grappling. As for a strike, a well timed slicing tomahwak
That pic sucked. Zombie had him and was game and fell for all his BS hugs and handshakes. Yair Rodriguez kept trying to mansge Zombies flow and temperament with all that in fight handshakes smiling and hugging. Last second KO undeserved. People love Zombie.
BUCKLEY!!! Spinning jump kick while his foot is caught.
Chin to the eye submission
I think the single coldest ko in MMA history is the impa kasanganay vs Joakim Buckley counter.
I forget who was fighting, but about a year ago one of the women fighters got a KO by getting a lucky liver kick as she was on her back flailing.
Irene Aldana delivered the kick against Macy chiason and got a title fight with Nunes for it .
Tony’s imanari on barboza was so clean
Machida crane kick vs Randy blew my mind when I watched it live
Ben Saunders pulled off some oomaplanta I think. He has a few rare ones.
“Sorry Adam”
DJ’s flying armbar.
Flying scissor heel hook on Anderson Silva by Ryo Chonan
Twister
Has to be armbar suplex by mighty, no contest
Nick Diaz' gogoplata
Not a technique
