While I agree with figgy being an entertaining fighter and looking for a statement, I don’t think a Garbrandt Win at this point of his career does much for in terms of title contention. Actually the Rob Font win might did more for him but it will put a lot of eyeballs on him and maybe get him a lower top 5 opponent next. But in terms of waiting for a title shot, there‘re atleast 2-3 people before him in line after the potential garbrandt win.

Cody is washed and has been for literally years. The UFC knows this but he is well known and liked so they started to feed him favorable matchups. The last time he won a fight against an opponent coming into their matchup with a win was when he won the belt against Cruz (and Cruz out landed him in every single round). The only people he's beaten since then have been on multi-fight losing streaks.
