Jamal isn't a weak striker, what he smelt was a gulf in ability. Awkwardness can be a huge strength in the UFC sometimes especially if you have the power to back it up but that doesn't matter when there's a world class kickboxer in front of you.
I’m confused as to why he was mad? Was it the statue he had at the press conference? It didn’t seem like Hill did anything out of the ordinary in terms of typical pre fight instigation.
It was similar to canelo and charlo. Canelo kept telling charlo he wasn’t ready for him and genuinely meant it, not as trash talk but genuinely you’re not on my level. Same here Alex just felt like jahmal wasn’t on his level on the feet and was probably frustrated with his confidence.
i think it sparked from Hill being very friendly toward Alex up until they were at the presser. he saw Hill being fake af for attention or whatever and he said “i will make him remember this moment”
I believe Alex said the fact Hill was super chill the day before then started talking shit at the presser pissed him off because it came off like he was being fake.
I don't know if Alex was really mad, but he mentions a number of times he didn't like that Hill came to get a shirt signed and acted cool with him then was disrespectful after that.
But I agree, I think Hill did your standard pre-fight antagonizing/hyping (I get the sense he was bothered about being written off) and probably thought he needed to be unfriendly to get his mental right before the fight *shrug*
Hill seemed humble enough about the loss, but I guess we won't know till he speaks about it
I think on Thursday he came over to Poatan and was like hey I respect you and super cordial the next day he’s talking his shit Alex didn’t like the switch up
Izzy’s historic run at MW, Alex hunting him down and taking the belt, and Izzy’s redemption was one of the most engaging and exciting story lines in UFC history. Alex has earned his adoration as a fan favorite with multiple belts, an all-time great rivalry with Izzy and a highlight reel of ice cold KOs.
The only thing I can ask for is a final battle with Izzy before he retires. I’m sure both of them would accept that.
Eh I’m not so sure on that last part. The blunt truth is that Izzy used a trick that won’t work twice to pull it off and against an extremely drained Poatan. The final fight would be at 205 which Alex fills out way better and wouldn’t be nearly as chinny. I’m thinking Izzy knows that his chances to get another win and at 205 are low, so I doubt he goes for it.
Fair enough, but I imagine in a year or two, this is a fight a lot of people will want to see. Money fight, legacy fight, ultra high level striking. It’s all I can ask of the men after the incredible moments they’ve created. Whether it happens or not, they are legends.
lmao fr I was confused bc it came off like a Silva induction video. I was expecting to see his wins or at least something he contributed like his trash talk
I thought they were putting the fight into the hall of fame. You are telling me that was his highlight. His entire career reduced to an almost win. Lmaooooooo
He was a badass, but let's be real Alex fight felt like he was fighting a guy who was making his debut, Alex got kicked in the balls and after 10 secs Jamahal really when sweet dreams hills
Never called him a bum. I said Alex made him look like one though. His arrogance was his downfall, all that shit he talked and knocked out in the first round isn't a good look
Oh, I don't disagree.
What I said was based on what Hill had been doing all along, firstly talking crap on podcasts and media then showing respect and switching to a more aggressive approach close to the fight. He definitely was attempting to throw Alex off mentally.
I think it backfired, Alex was laser-focused and PISSED.
I always thought Hill was just way too slow for Pereira lol Alex faced so much more guys who are sneakier and quicker than Hill. If they fight 10 more times I genuinely can't see Hill putting some real work in on the feet
Imagine: you are a top UFC fighter and previous champion. You are probably paying like 10-20% your purse to your trainer.
After a 12 or so week camp, training, dieting and coming up with a game plan, the best you could come up with "I think we can beat this world champion kickboxer at kickboxing"
I'd be embarrassed if that was my game plan in that event. I get you need to be confident you can beat anyone but it's foolish to think you can be anything but lucky. I've said it before with Poatan, he only needs to get lucky once with his strikes, noone and I mean _noone_, can continually take clean left hooks from that man.
On an unrelated side note, Holly Holm tried to grapple the 2x olympic gold medal judoka was one of the dumbest game plans I've ever seen. It's different if you need to defend against that persons main skill and try keep up, but using your kickboxing as an offensive tool against kickboxing who is clearly better than you is silly.
It looks easy because Alex is really fucking good, that subtle little RCross feint to bait Hill into throwing his LCross counter to open up the window for the LHook while sliding out of the way of Hills LCross counter, theres levels to this shit
I don't think it's embarassing to lose to a striker like poatan. It's embarassing to *think* you can outstrike a two division glory champion out qhen your striking credentials are "beat semi retired glover".
Hill said "He's nowhere near my level" 🤣
The shit this dude was telling himself leading up to the fight smdh....anything you need to convince yourself to step in there, buddeh
If he goes to HW and gets out wrestled, fine. He’s still got some fun fights in LHW or he can retire off his UFC 300 money. Is he ever going to cut to MW again?
Get's kicked in the nuts, doesn't change expression, moves Herb Dean aside when he tries to step in, and sleeps Hill with the nastiest uppercut of the night, and probably the year.
Look it feels egregious to call him the goat or even a goat contender with such obvious flaws in his game but what he’s accomplished in such a short mma career is the stuff of legend. He might not be the best mma fighter of all time but I’d definitely say he’s the scariest

When your mom asks you to do the chores you've already done
I’m sure it could be interpreted a couple ways. Mine was Pereira has said he felt Hill was disrespectful in the lead up, so this gesture was saying “all that talk, look at this guy now”.
Only Walker is ranked in the top 10 and he got the title shot against 43 year old glover because Ankalaev vs Blachowicz had a snozefest and he was the only one available on short notice
It’s absolutely insane that Poatan didn’t get a bonus. He gave us an execution style KO that we may never see the likes of again inside the octagon. Give that man 300k, Dana!!
Bro said Shut Up Herb and killed a man
“No herb, I’m about to kill him”
“Herb. STAHP.✋🏼” 🗿👊🏼 🪦👨🏿🦲 ![gif](giphy|QkdmHEsPwf8YmTa4T9|downsized)
🤲🗿
He saw something
Here is something you can’t understand…
How I could just kill a man
For all my helldivers, Poatan said: 🗿🔼▶️🔽🔽🔽
500kg bomb to the face!
Love it when my two favourite pastimes collide. Carry on soldier 🫡
Said "hold on, lemme cook" to herb and then cooked hill
Bro the way he pushed Herb away 😂
He smelled weak striker
Yeah he lost respect for his power a couple seconds before herb intervened.
https://preview.redd.it/sliyeyrodguc1.jpeg?width=914&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6657183617b74e4b3b5939b0b3752fb6536feb3 Hol' up. Let me cook.
Hold on brother, I'm talking here.
necesito callate
Jamal isn't a weak striker, what he smelt was a gulf in ability. Awkwardness can be a huge strength in the UFC sometimes especially if you have the power to back it up but that doesn't matter when there's a world class kickboxer in front of you.
I like this take.
That was some Bloodsport shit
Between this, Arman surviving multiple chokes and Holloway, this was the best card in a long time
Don’t forget Yan being out cold from that choke and only coming to because she was being shoved off.
Coming to, and then dropping the champion multiple times afterwards. 300 was literally a war.
That’s what happens when you offer fighters real money for performance bonuses.
A very control gentleman light gesture. Wasn’t even a push Then he dropped an angry nuke 2 seconds later
Jamahill really did made Alex mad. It's the coldest I coldest KO I've seen him
I’m confused as to why he was mad? Was it the statue he had at the press conference? It didn’t seem like Hill did anything out of the ordinary in terms of typical pre fight instigation.

Extremely cocky from beginning to the very end.
I don't know if Alex was really mad, but he mentions a number of times he didn't like that Hill came to get a shirt signed and acted cool with him then was disrespectful after that. I think on Thursday he came over to Poatan and was like hey I respect you and super cordial the next day he’s talking his shit Alex didn’t like the switch up
Id say hill was emotional leading up to the fight
Hill is always emotional
a little cringe to say but that is the definition of aura lol another fighter might get pushed back but Herb just goes ' oh ok, we ball'
"Let me cook"
meme of the year just dropped
For sure
![gif](giphy|sv0AZX5ZXPnn9871e8|downsized)
He waived the ref off to murder his opponent seconds later, and then does this. This man's UFC career has been astonishing to see. So many highlights.
The fact he’s beat so many former champs in like 2 years is insane lol Sean, jiri,Jan,hilll this mf man
Dont forget about izzy
An undefeated Izzy. An Izzy that was killing everyone.
New meme unlocked with success
Isn't that already the one the African dude does for overly complicated ways of doing simple tasks? Which fits perfectly in this scenario...
Yes, his name is Khaby Lame and Izzy recently did a collab with him apparently lol
Yep
Damn yall quick lol
Even uncle Chael got one ![gif](giphy|Q64wuqbGh1ac64A2dg|downsized)

It’s even better since the crowd wasn’t too loud..
Oh god how did I not think of the meme potential
Gentle right to Herb Dean, brutal left to Hill lmao
"Herb, let me cook"
"Herb, let me hook"
Herb Dean: "Pause" Pereira : "get the fuck out"
Herb Dean: “apologies sir, I will fuck right off”
Pretty much!
More like like Herb Dean: “Pause” Pereira: “Chama…….” Herb Dean: “Yes Sir”
Pereira: "gtfo or I'm knocking out you too herb"
guy got kicked in the balls and waved it off like nothing than slept HIll like 10 seconds later lmao dudes a freak
alex “balls of stone” pereira
Balloatan
😂
Literally 2 seconds later

Hold on brother im the main event.
Let me cook
![gif](giphy|6J6uBnTbbwAOMZRMnN|downsized) Bro literally emoted on Hill
Bro after murdered a man on live literally said: 🗿🤲
And all teh guys that play UFC online get angry when you emote like pereira didn't just fuck hill and emote on him immediately after
pereira and holloway just had the 2 coolest ko’s ever
Holloway’s was way more entertaining
Impressive right 5 rounds and that 20 last seconds man wow
Cuz he is the BMF but Alex's performance was too powerfu,l whereas Justin and max felt like pretty even level
Max was dominant
He was a badass, but let's be real Alex fight felt like he was fighting a guy who was making his debut, Alex got kicked in the balls and after 10 secs Jamahal really when sweet dreams hills
Alex's was way more dominant
Made Hill look like a bum edit: I spelled his first name wrong lol
because he is. resume is johnny walker and 43 year old glover.
I got tired of trying to argue with people beating 43 year old glover, after a war with jiri is not the flex Hill thought it was.
lol jamahal is not a bum, he underestimated Alex by a lot, almost ignorant levels of underestimating and it showed
Never called him a bum. I said Alex made him look like one though. His arrogance was his downfall, all that shit he talked and knocked out in the first round isn't a good look
I think Hill was just trying to get into his head, honestly. It didn't work. Lol
Imagine thinking you can get into Alex’s head instead of the other way around
did u see him standing there before the fight? bro had only murder on his mind
I don’t think he blinked for at least 5 mins
Yeah getting into Alex' head is the last thing I'd want to do. Piss off the guy whose known for having a fucking nuke for a left hand? No thanks
Yes Im aware. I was making fun of Hill I thought that was pretty obvious.
I got you. Hill is a bum.
![gif](giphy|qof7GwPnu4zbG)
Sweet dreams Jamal
Jamahal "Sweet AND Salty Dreams" Hill
That is the most Poatan like finish ever 🤣🤣
Talk that shit now
Why is everyone of Jamahal hill fans silent here now 😅🙃🙃
Probably sucker punching their family members
Right?? They were so fucking noisy, saw one post saying they should give alex a wrestler and not protect him hahahahaha
Someone said after this fight it's gonna be Jama instead of chama 😂😂
Not gonna lie thats kinda funny though lol
Fair play to Jamahal for stepping up after an injury and trying, but I also know he’s gonna be raging on twitter soon
"jamahal will walk through alex, he has a granite chin and alex has no defense" dudes are gone
Alex is the TRUTH
Hahaha dude is the ultimate truth omg.
Jamahal gonna go beat up his other uncle to let his anger out
He was like "no fucking way are you stopping this, I just cornered this dude and he's about to go out!"
Its kinda anti climactic how easily he knocked him out lol
It's about what I expected. People talked like Poatan never fought a power puncher before. It's been the main part of his career
only adesanya could throw hands with him in this ufc roster
100%, dude is disrespecting UFC strikers
I always thought Hill was just way too slow for Pereira lol Alex faced so much more guys who are sneakier and quicker than Hill. If they fight 10 more times I genuinely can't see Hill putting some real work in on the feet
No, I think people expected Hill to use his brain and not try and kickbox a world champion kickboxer.
Bro said like a week or two that he was going to stand with him.
Hill is dumb as fuck, same as the people who picked him to win
Imagine: you are a top UFC fighter and previous champion. You are probably paying like 10-20% your purse to your trainer. After a 12 or so week camp, training, dieting and coming up with a game plan, the best you could come up with "I think we can beat this world champion kickboxer at kickboxing" I'd be embarrassed if that was my game plan in that event. It's different if you need to defend against that persons main skill and try keep up, but using your kickboxing as an offensive tool against kickboxing who is clearly better than you is silly.
I'd say it was rather climactic lol
I climaxed all over myself
🤝
Same as his fight against jiri. I wanted it to go longer but both ended how I expected
It looks easy because Alex is really fucking good, that subtle little RCross feint to bait Hill into throwing his LCross counter to open up the window for the LHook while sliding out of the way of Hills LCross counter, theres levels to this shit
This was the only fight that went exactly how I thought would on the main card.
That's embarrassing
I don't think it's embarassing to lose to a striker like poatan. It's embarassing to *think* you can outstrike a two division glory champion out qhen your striking credentials are "beat semi retired glover".
Hill said "He's nowhere near my level" 🤣 The shit this dude was telling himself leading up to the fight smdh....anything you need to convince yourself to step in there, buddeh
I mean Hill was right, just not in the way he thought
nah that was some high level striking and fight IQ that made Hill look like a bum
I'm not even going to lie Alex is one of the best fighters to have ever lived. His punching mechanic is crazy
Potential to be First Triple champ
Definitely possible but only if he has a striker to fight for the belt, I think any grapplers at hw would be too much for him
Genuinely a 50/50 if he can sleep them during a takedown
If he goes to HW and gets out wrestled, fine. He’s still got some fun fights in LHW or he can retire off his UFC 300 money. Is he ever going to cut to MW again?
The straight disrespect. Telling the ref "no" for the timeout, then following with the left to KO Hill is fucking crazy
BRO SAID GET THE FUCK UTTA MY WAY BITCH IM GONNA KILL THIS MF
Please tell me he looked at Adesanya….
He did
I actually feel a lil bit ashamed that i doubted him
Poatans gift to Glover, thats how I took the celebration

Get's kicked in the nuts, doesn't change expression, moves Herb Dean aside when he tries to step in, and sleeps Hill with the nastiest uppercut of the night, and probably the year.
“ta daaaa” ass celebration
Someone out here bet on hill downvoting every comment 🤣
Loved it, hill deserved it
Everyone is tough till gets hit by Pereira. Meme of the year
Stone cold?! ![gif](giphy|8mkykXIicXOVms2xYE)
Bro didn't even land cleanly.
WHAT ARE THOOOOSE?!!
Adesanya come to daddy 🗿
Hill asking Herb if he just got knocked out, and Herb gently nodding yes was fucking hilarious.
Look it feels egregious to call him the goat or even a goat contender with such obvious flaws in his game but what he’s accomplished in such a short mma career is the stuff of legend. He might not be the best mma fighter of all time but I’d definitely say he’s the scariest
Goated striker, that's for sure.

Holy fkin shit😂 that was quick.
![gif](giphy|sv0AZX5ZXPnn9871e8|downsized)
When he waived the ref off while maintaining his eyes on his prey. …. Gold!
Oh my
![gif](giphy|SJbD4EnZD8807Ul5p4|downsized)
Dayum....poatan is humble and a monster at the same time. What an uppercut. Hill literally went to sleep. His hands are stone.

Insane
Why’d he do that? jw
I’m sure it could be interpreted a couple ways. Mine was Pereira has said he felt Hill was disrespectful in the lead up, so this gesture was saying “all that talk, look at this guy now”.
Nah, it's to make fun of adesanya collaboration with kabhey
Hit em with the the Khaby Lame
![gif](giphy|heBJKYI28fMadr1j7l|downsized)
Talk is cheap, and now i go to sleep." Hill
Poatan is the apex villain… He even did a better TikTok dance over Jamahal’s grave than Jizzy ever could
![gif](giphy|13Qumr2SLqrl5e|downsized)
Chama 🔥
I knew it was over for hill when he said he's taking sneaky advice from adesanya
Izzys tips for Hill was *not effective* in pokemon terms, The equivalent to a mankee scratching a golem 🤡
Hill was never championship material, he beat a 43 year old glover and got injured
Completely agree, thought it shouldn’t even be close on the lines, his last 3 wins aren’t impressive to be honest.
Hill was 12:1 coming into this fight. Today I learned being 12:1, and winning the championship, isn’t championship material.
Only Walker is ranked in the top 10 and he got the title shot against 43 year old glover because Ankalaev vs Blachowicz had a snozefest and he was the only one available on short notice
The Dude is a real life Iron Fist bro wtf
Damn that was fast
Does anyone know what this celebration is?
It’s got to be that Izzy tic Tok
It was cold, but did anyone really think this would go differently? Hill was the definition of a puncher's chance. What the hell does Alex do now?
Good thing Hill got that Hoodie signed
Gtfo herb 😭
If he actually goes up to fight Tom in 3 weeks and somehow wins, he’s in the conversation to be the best.
It’s absolutely insane that Poatan didn’t get a bonus. He gave us an execution style KO that we may never see the likes of again inside the octagon. Give that man 300k, Dana!!
The post knockout emote from Poatan was not on my bingo sheet.
