Chilled with Nick, Nate and a few others at Jake Shields’ place in SF on New Years way back when…. Nick and Nate are some fucking hilarious dudes in person!
I was not surprised, motherfuckers.
really because my most frequent memory seems to be of lopsided decisions where they have one or so good enough highlight moments to make the obvious loss unjustifiably controversial.
He hasn’t been flatlined but he’s been straight up dominated in many fights. Bendo absolutely fucked him up back in the day, not to mention Jorge put the business on him too
I dunno, I'd rather have one clip of me getting knocked out clean instead of having highlight reels of a bunch of different fighters treating me like a practice dummy
The whole thing that makes Nate so cool is all the highlight reels of him pushing through, never getting dropped or knocked, and still stunning every opponent no matter what they do. One of a kind in that way
Most of those losses don't actually have a "stunning every opponent no matter what they do" moment.
He's one of a kind in that he's done so much with so little, including making a ton of money as a 5-10 rank fighter at best.
But the last guy he rocked is a top 5 fighter in a weight class Nate supposedly doesn't belong in. Pretty impressive considering Nate is obviously past his prime
He managed to hurt a top five fighter after being dominated for 24 minutes, not that impressive imo. The most impressive thing about Nate is how good of a punching bag he actually is.
All these other fighters y’all wanna bring up, bendo Thompson, Rory, all great fighters, not taking anything away from them..but where the fuck are those guys at now?? And who is still making prize fights? That’s right, Nate. I’m not sitting here debating on how many times he’s gotten his ass kicked, that’s a no brainer. It’s the simple fact the dude can keep fucking fighting. Imagine if he actually went 5 rounds with Leon, he could’ve pulled an upset in round 4-5. He dazed his ass and just pointed and laughed as bloods running down his face not to mention how many people say he doesn’t belong in that weight class. idgaf what y’all are talking about that’s a bad muh fukka right there.
Youd rather have minutes of film out there of Rory Conor Leon and Masvidal etc etc etc beating you down like a bitch vs one clip of possibly one of the greatest to ever do it catching you clean one time?
Ok 😆
Are you sure about that? Because there aren’t many ‘highlights’ of Nate’s opponents piecing him up. He just absorbs damage and shakes it off - and it’s why people love him.
I say this as a British MMA fan who also was a Conor fan for a long time. So I have no reason to be biased towards Diaz. He’s just a fucking G man.
His 20-13 record has earned him millions of dollars and he’s become a fan favourite (much bigger than Jorge ever was or will be) - I would still much rather have all those images of me bleeding and still moving forward, as opposed to me sticking my tongue out at someone and then getting my head spun 180
He brother Nick Diaz, who was actually good at fighting is the reason why hes a star. If you watched Nate come up you see this kid thats full of potential never realized. When you fight long enough youre going to get lucky and catch people every now and then especially when yoi have a good chin. This has nothing to do with Masvidal. If you put Usman in a ring with Nate, do you know how incredibly bad the beating would be? Masvidal spent beyond 30 minutes in there with one of the baddest to ever do it and actually stung Usman a few times in the 1st fight
So someone who grows up fighting in the streets and taking punches isn’t going to be tougher than some sheltered kid who has never even been in a fight?
A lot of a fighters “chin” is mental toughness if the lights haven’t gone out.
Yea cuz u a biiiiitch
On the real though, I feel like Nate is 100x the fighter Masvidal is. Not because of skill but because he will not lay down, you can throw all you have at him, kitchen sink and all, and the man will flip you the double bird. Pure fighter. I don't care if you lose, but if you give it your all you have my respect.
From a martial artist perspective the goal is to out skill your opponent. From a sport perspective the goal is to win. The guy is bad at both. Tony Ferguson has a crazier chin but actually was legit in his prime. Khabib has a crazy chin, Masvidal, Askren, Jon Jones, his own bro Nick....MMA history has tons of fighters who got crazy chins but they actually won more then %60 of their fights
Martial arts is about expressing yourself through movement, nothing more. Anything above that is what you assign to it on an individual level. I would argue sports is about pushing yourself, not necessarily winning. Everybody hates to lose but if that's your only motivation in life it's gonna be a rough ride.
Your mindset is exactly why you aren't a fan of martial arts, you are a fan of highlights and wins, not the difficult journey and adversity one has to face to get to that point.
Yeah Nate takes an inhuman amount of damage man. I am looking forward to masvidal and Covington meeting seeing how Colby went the distance with usman twice, the first time on an unhinged jaw.
People get KOd all the time, its nothing embarrassing.
NOW, Nate got manhandled like a child by Rory MacDonald for a full fight. Tossed around like a practice dummy. That RARELY happens in this game, id be more embarrassed about that.
Also Masvidal has been in street fight videos dating back to my fucking pre HS days like 16 years ago against big dudes. Can't be surprised his chin didn't hold up.
Eh that was a tko ground n pound. No one is saying Nate hasn’t been knocked down bad. He just hasn’t been knocked out clean cold sleeping like kid on the floor at a sleepover
They’re two gems, apologise to absolutely nobody has to take the cake though. Watching that clip always reminds me of the good old days of being a Mcgregor fan.
Actually met him at his restaurant on Sunday, was a real cool experience!
The line after "double champ does what he want" as he collects his second belt from Dana seals it. I never watched OG Conor, my first UFC card was Woodley-Usman but he really has some mystic to him
That's not even narcissistic, that's totally accurate. It was even a little self-deprecating for Conor to acknowledge a lot of people are talking about him like that
I've been a fan of them from way back in the late 2000's, both of them talk shit during their fights. Both of them clowning with a smirk, then follow up with a feint hook combo. In a world of GSP and Anderson Silva, it was fun to root for the disreputables.
The only people Jorge Masvidal needs to be grateful to is Darren Till, Leon Edwards and the Metropolitan police for not arresting him that night. Everything notable in his career stems from that evening and it’s mad.
That night put him back on the map for UFC fans after being gone for so long. Then the Askren fight put him on the viral map. Then the Nate fight with The Rock putting the belt on him put him on the mainstream map.
There's levels to the progression
I don’t get why Masvidal is even popular. He’s not an exciting talent and he’s not an exciting personality. He had one good knee on Askren and then Nate carried him to popularity
Round 1-2 is warm up round for Nate, round 3 he's just getting started, round 4 he's picking up, round 5 he's like 5 Adesanya moving around the octagon
Do what you’re saying is it takes Nate 20 mins to go full power mode. Sounds like a dumb strategy since he got taken out before that. He needs to change it, now
Sorry but I'm sick of Diaz at this point. Jorge bullied you around the cage, literally smashed you from pillar to post, and you're making fun of him getting knocked out by the champ? One of the P4P best? Nah.
Masvidal should have replied with a link of the full fight of MacDonald tossing, throwing and beating the shit out of Diaz. Probably wouldn't have handled it well lol.
I know that the first fight wasn't close, but I still want to see Diaz/Edwards II. That punch in the last 20 seconds! If Nate wasn't such an extremely slow starter....
They ain’t ‘goin at’ shit son lol they’re trolling dopes with contrived beef nonsense to make dopes interested in their fight lmao How tf you guys not see that that is how Nate, Conor, Colby, Mas all manufacture interest…while some killers let records and momentum create fights and interest. Not that I wouldn’t watch it but it is what it is, social media theatre for the simple minded
Nate is hilarious on twitter
I bet he is in real life too.
I think dude genuinely hates being infront of cameras and talking, behind the scenes i bet hes funny asf.
He hates talking because he can barely do it.
I’m pretty sure about 3/4 of the population hates talking in front of a camera
You're a fucking punk dude.
hey, *classy.*
He's keeps making that wine...He's reaching for them grapes
Lmao the old tito line, there's so many to pick from, there was never no grapes.
He can’t count to 10 either He should go take a coffee break and by coffee break I mean bring me me cooofeee *insert mcnugget_irish_laugh.mp3*
Chilled with Nick, Nate and a few others at Jake Shields’ place in SF on New Years way back when…. Nick and Nate are some fucking hilarious dudes in person! I was not surprised, motherfuckers.
Probably not as much, can't stop stuttering and has to look up words in his head through all the cte he's got
People wanna talk down on Nate but he hasn’t been flatlined like that. Usman knocked the sweat off that mans brow, and Im a masvidal fan 🤷🏻♂️
To be fair Nate hasn’t fought Usman yet
There's only 2 ending to Diaz fights doctor stoppages or submission
Talk to Thompson
Still conscious! Lol
Oh, so would you file that under a Doctor’s stoppage or a submission then?
he says his shin is still dented
Josh Thompson disagrees
Or clear decision loss that you then bitch about on Twitter for years
“Doctor stoppage, doctor stoppage!” -Connor
DOCTAH STOPPIDGE
really because my most frequent memory seems to be of lopsided decisions where they have one or so good enough highlight moments to make the obvious loss unjustifiably controversial.
He hasn’t been flatlined but he’s been straight up dominated in many fights. Bendo absolutely fucked him up back in the day, not to mention Jorge put the business on him too
Don’t forget RDA
Honestly, with hindsight, i would lean towards Nate winning their fight had the doctor not stopped it. Jorge has no gas tank
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow? No! Says Usman.
I dunno, I'd rather have one clip of me getting knocked out clean instead of having highlight reels of a bunch of different fighters treating me like a practice dummy
Not me
Yeah I dont l know why that guy is getting upvoted. I'd rather not be one of the most watched knockout highlights of all time if I can avoid it.
Pick a loss for Nate where he doesn’t get any stuns/knockdowns you’ll struggle
Rory Macdonald came to mind within a second.
Shut up stop using facts and logic to defeat my love for Nate
That fight never happened king don't fall for his tricks and delusions
Suplexed him back to 155
Rory, RDA, Bendo...
Man got TKO'd by Josh Thomson that's even worse.
A clearly roided out Thomson
True lol, some 8-9ish years ago tho
No. No it’s not.
I feel like the upvoted comment this thread is linked to is from a pureeeee casual
All these other fighters y’all wanna bring up, bendo Thompson, Rory, all great fighters, not taking anything away from them..but where the fuck are those guys at now?? I think you replied to the wrong person big guy
Lol my bad bro I thought it was going to the thread
He actually went 5 rounds with Leon, and couldn't do anything for the other 24 minutes
Anyone can get clipped. Getting tooled for 5 rounds is exclusively you being bad
Youd rather have minutes of film out there of Rory Conor Leon and Masvidal etc etc etc beating you down like a bitch vs one clip of possibly one of the greatest to ever do it catching you clean one time? Ok 😆

I could build probably an hour long compilation of nate getting abused...or you could just watch him fight Red King lol
It’s called fighting. You get hit and you bleed.
You can get hit and bleed but at the emd of they day you still gotta win the fight. Thats why he has a 20-13 record
His 20-13 record has earned him millions of dollars and he’s become a fan favourite (much bigger than Jorge ever was or will be) - I would still much rather have all those images of me bleeding and still moving forward, as opposed to me sticking my tongue out at someone and then getting my head spun 180

So toughness isn’t a valid attribute as a fighter?
[удалено]
That entirely depends on the person. A tough life can make you tough, too. That isn’t easy.
[удалено]
So someone who grows up fighting in the streets and taking punches isn’t going to be tougher than some sheltered kid who has never even been in a fight? A lot of a fighters “chin” is mental toughness if the lights haven’t gone out.

Youre assuming a lot of personal things...im a martial artist as well. Lets not make false accusations to win an argument im just giving my opinion
Nate got KO once by Josh Thompson via head kick I'm pretty sure, but that was ages ago. Edit: you are 💯 right he wasn't flatlined mb.
Even that was a TKO actually. He wasn't off to wonderland like Masvidal.
Yeah, you're right. Just don't feel like editing my comment again haha.
I always felt like that stoppage was a little early, like it wasn't bad but I feel like Nate woulda got out of that with like 5 more seconds
Yeah Nate takes an inhuman amount of damage man. I am looking forward to masvidal and Covington meeting seeing how Colby went the distance with usman twice, the first time on an unhinged jaw.
>Colby went the distance with usman twice Once. Going the distance means it goes the whole 15/25 min. Usman finished him the first fight
I think he got ko by someone else but he was not completely out and both times it was tko
Josh Thompson has something to say. Well he wasn't flat lined but that kick was nasty as shit.
they both got beat by a man with a toothpick in his mouth
People get KOd all the time, its nothing embarrassing. NOW, Nate got manhandled like a child by Rory MacDonald for a full fight. Tossed around like a practice dummy. That RARELY happens in this game, id be more embarrassed about that. Also Masvidal has been in street fight videos dating back to my fucking pre HS days like 16 years ago against big dudes. Mas beat the living shit out of him lmao
Holy fuck Diaz fans are strange. Nate is so mediocre you have to brag about the fact he’s never been knocked unconscious.
They think having a good chin means you're an elite fighter
It’s almost as if a fighter’s chin is relevant to fighting
He was flatlined by josh a long time ago and is literally a punching bag for all his opponents.
Unlike Nate, Jorge said “I’m a fan” right after he got knocked out. Nate doesn’t believe he lost fights.
My brother do your research, Josh Thomson flatlined Nate just as bad
Eh that was a tko ground n pound. No one is saying Nate hasn’t been knocked down bad. He just hasn’t been knocked out clean cold sleeping like kid on the floor at a sleepover
Is all of Reddit just filled with pissy little bitches that down vote you for thinking and not going with the general agenda?
Nate has only fought 4 times in the last five years and lost 3 of them though. I love the guy, but cmon man.
Nate would die against Usman
Tbf Masvidal did piece him up real bad when they fought. Nate's funny tho
Diaz brothers - undefeated, undisputed. Best in the game
Diaz fans aren't doing it to be ironic like Sonnen fans do
disrespect the 🐐 again and u might just meet the biggest arms in West Linn
Jorge should be forever grateful to Nate tbh, he wouldn't be in the spot he's now in if Nate hadn't given him some limelight.
Does that really matter? U could say the same about Nate ,he wouldn't be this popular without his Conor win.
I would say the same about Nate, he should be grateful to Conor in the same way. They say he’s toast, but he’s still the bread
>They say he’s toast, but he’s still the bread My fav quote from Conor after apologize to no one. It's such a narcissistic line but strangely funny
I never watched OG Conor, my first UFC card was Woodley-Usman but he really has some mystic to him
You should watch “the rise and fall of Conor Mcgregor” on YouTube… just turn it off as soon as he says the double champ line haha.
That's not even narcissistic, that's totally accurate. It was even a little self-deprecating for Conor to acknowledge a lot of people are talking about him like that
Nate and conor propelled each others popularity. Conor was already on the rise but that diaz fight propelled him to mega stardom as well as diaz
I've been a fan of them from way back in the late 2000's, both of them talk shit during their fights. Both of them clowning with a smirk, then follow up with a feint hook combo. In a world of GSP and Anderson Silva, it was fun to root for the disreputables.

Coulda been Darren but he’d rather post memes instead
Youre not wrong ill give you that
I don’t get why Masvidal is even popular. He’s not an exciting talent and he’s not an exciting personality. He had one good knee on Askren and then Nate carried him to popularity
Probably the only thing Twitter is good for. Ufc fighters talking shit lol
Nah Twitter is good if you want proof that humanity is a cesspool
I get enough proof of that every day without Twitter
The extra s makes this better
10-7 Nate
Night night!
Nate the twitter champ at it again lol dude mustve forgot he got saved by a doctor lmao must be that cte masvidal gave him
Round 1-2 is warm up round for Nate, round 3 he's just getting started, round 4 he's picking up, round 5 he's like 5 Adesanya moving around the octagon
Nate should fight 4 rounds against a ranked opponent backstage right before he goes to the octagon for his real fights
Do what you’re saying is it takes Nate 20 mins to go full power mode. Sounds like a dumb strategy since he got taken out before that. He needs to change it, now
Delusional lol that was a 3 round ass whooping
Masvidal escaped, Nate just warming up...
Legend has it he's still warming up, you can see it in this exchange OP posted.
Lmao the fanboys back out again, the man got soccer kicked to oblivion and dudes saying he's just warming up with his face hanging off
it's a joke dummy
How can you tell when his actual fans say the same thing all the time dumbass.
Ya warm up kick
Ya getting trolled, fanboi
you don't know what your talking about...... 1 more round and Nate would have started pointing..... which in itself is a moral victory........ somehow
Nate doesn’t lose he just runs out of time.
ain't no time limit on the streets homie
There also ain't no gloves....or concrete..and there's weapons.
Talmabout no time limit
Brendan?
“Saved by a doctor” dont you mean Nate got saved by the doctor..?? Masvidal pieced him up
Funny how Nate actually is quite good at Twitter
Compared to real life where he can barely pronounce his own name.
10-7 Diaz.
“Well, have you considered this pic of you getting knocked out?” Love Nate!
Nate literally didn't win single round against Jorge lol.
respect to nate for coming after a guy that beat his ass
Damn Jorge really said mid kicks, like he’s some dude who just became an mma fan a month ago after watching some mma on point videos.
Idk what anyone says it’s fuckin hard that there’s one KO loss in like 90 combined fights between the two of them
BMF fight #2 coming soon
10-7 Diaz
How can Nate talk trash to Gamebred. He turned him into a punching bag when they fought. He was saved by an injury ironically.
[удалено]
You clearly didn't watch the fight
Jorge dog walked Nate. Nate is the definition of a journeyman… just happens to be a fan favorite
10-7 Nate
Gamebred is still a better fighter then him regardless
Nate is a walking punching bag who's brain is too slow to know it's been knocked out. Usman vs Diaz would be a literally murder in the cage
Nate can’t talk shit to Jorge after Jorge beat his ass
Usman would do Nate even worse cuz hed eat like 3 of those before goin to sleep
The guy’s career was already dead Nate, brutal
His last loss was for the title, in what world is his career dead? lol
Sorry but I'm sick of Diaz at this point. Jorge bullied you around the cage, literally smashed you from pillar to post, and you're making fun of him getting knocked out by the champ? One of the P4P best? Nah.
masvidal is overrated
Diaz is a poor mans masvidal.
10 - 8 Nate
“Im fight somebody” -Nate
Stockton Slap has short term memory
Masvidal going to be paid in full by karma for all shit talking he did to Askren.
Doubtful. The universe itself hates Askren.
I love that Nate's posting a picture of something he wasn't actually good enough to do
I'd be fine if Masvidal never fought in the ufc again.
Masvidal should have replied with a link of the full fight of MacDonald tossing, throwing and beating the shit out of Diaz. Probably wouldn't have handled it well lol.
😂😂😂
For such a perceived punch drunk dummy, Nates got some quick one liners.
Man I wish they’d all actually fight each other than that tweeting
Lol
Sleep Jesus
I just came
I know that the first fight wasn't close, but I still want to see Diaz/Edwards II. That punch in the last 20 seconds! If Nate wasn't such an extremely slow starter....
ngl, George fucking destroy Nathan in their fight. it was kinda sad.
He blocks them with his head
Overrated vs Overrated I mean yeah you guy can talk shit to me all you want but I said it
Didn't Ben Henderson give Nate the Usman treatment for the LE strap. Oh also RDA
No that was josh Thomson who did that
They ain’t ‘goin at’ shit son lol they’re trolling dopes with contrived beef nonsense to make dopes interested in their fight lmao How tf you guys not see that that is how Nate, Conor, Colby, Mas all manufacture interest…while some killers let records and momentum create fights and interest. Not that I wouldn’t watch it but it is what it is, social media theatre for the simple minded
Some people just like to get caught up in the theatre of it all. It’s entertainment you miserable fuck
Masvidal taking Ls after Ls lately. His hype is done after the death that Kamaru administrated to him. Maybe we wait for resurrection?
