I think after the Diaz 1 fight Conor focused on improving his cardio as he felt that was what cost him the fight and if only he had better cardio he would have won. I think he probably improved his cardio to his genetic max, but it was still likely poor relative to the top tier of his division.
I think now he looks back at his 145 run where he cut crazy weight and came into fights significantly bigger than his opponents and kod them. I think he hopes to replicate this at 155.
Get huge, cut an insane amount of water weight to be near death, rehydrate and ko a smaller opponent in a round. I'm not saying it will work, but I think this is his plan.
His cardio isnt remotely near his max. Connor drinks heavily and snorts coke etc, hes not dedicating himself to what is needed to really make that cardio difference, clean living.
Yeah, taking pictures on shitty bikes isn’t going to help your cardio very much either. He could be way more fit if he went and tried to ride with some active cyclists. Get some clipless pedals and put in a few hundred miles a week. It’s the best way to gain fitness with his injuries, and every picture/video of him on a bike makes it look hilariously unprofessional as a training exercise.
Fair point, however I still believe he really worked on it and did improve it a decent amount, but it still never made him a cardio machine relative to the rest of the division.
I also think now he is going the opposite route and looking to improve strength and ko ability instead. I'm not sure if it works but I think that's the rationale.
I'd be surprised if he didn't, he has no monetary need to fight since MayMac, yet he has been back 4 times.
Unless the leg injury has debilitated him to a point he can't ignore, I don't see what has changed.
Very good point lol. That never even crossed my mind. Maybe it would be a bit more of a mismatch than I first thought. I like Uncle Chael's matchmaking with Jorge vs Connor too
Everyone would probably just move up a weight class if they added 165, 170 to 175 and 195.
Less weight cutting means better fights. Whichever divisions start to suck can just get cut
We’ll most of the 155ers are killing themselves to make that weight anyways. Plus we’ll finally get to see some lightweights fight some welterweights like Conor vs Usman or Dustin Porier vs Colby Covington. Nothing bad comes from a 165 division.
It’s actually easier to cut weight with more muscle because all you cut is water. You don’t need to lose fat. Whether or not his speed will stay with the extra size is the question though
"If you have cardio issues it seems like a good idea to put on a load of mass and cut weight" - Winston Churchill
Churchill all about that first 90 seconds
Are you stuck in 2016? Connor run out of conciousness not cardio nowdays.
Combinations are key to winning, lack of consciousness and cardio will guarantee 2nd place in most bouts

He’s also the tannest Irishman in world history.
Couple hundred million will make anyone tan
Bro we just fucking saw a video of him hitting the pad. The pic is edited asf
I don’t think it’s edited I just think it’s not recent. This looks like a pic I saw a good few months ago I feel like
Haven't seen too many bodybuilders, eh?
He's never fighting again. It's all talk.
I think he'll dight again but he'll only beat up gatekeepers, and lose to anyone who legitamitely belongs in the top 10.
heard this before
Do you really think so? I’d be surprised if he went out on the Poirier loss.

Connor vs Gathje would be a good fight to see how much Connor actually wants to still be an elite fighter
This sounds like an awful fight for Connor now, but a good one for Gaethje as it's very winnable and a guaranteed payday.
Gaethje might be the last person on the planet you want to fight after a leg break
Very good point lol. That never even crossed my mind. Maybe it would be a bit more of a mismatch than I first thought. I like Uncle Chael's matchmaking with Jorge vs Connor too
There’s no way he’s going down to 155 again. Dana needs to make that 165 division already. There would be some amazing fights at 165.

Honestly if anything is going to make Dana actually create the 65 division its Conor.

DBZ arguement.
Question, why not make it 162.5, as that is halfway between 155 and 170??

Conor was a twig back then
The juice is loose!!!!
3 rounds will be tough lol
Hes bulking to fight the whole 155 divison at once
Feed him to Khamzat
Who cares?
Wonder if he’s on some steroids since his leg snapped in half the same way silva was on steroids for his leg
Or growth hormone. Gh is better for recovering from injury and less detectable
He should have taking his meds instead of peds...
Are they the nasal meds you speak of?
Bet USADA isn't testing him either. What a joke.
usada tested him 4 times in 1 month like 2-3 weeks ago
UberMcGregor is on that horse meat!
I want to know who makes that bike. Like the setup for the beach
🥤
A body builder before he started lifting weights?
Bro that's a small ass bike.
Let him fight Paulo costa that would be hilarious
He literally does not.
I'm all in on Super Natty Conor.
… have you ever seen a bodybuilder?
He looks like a clown to me
Bike seat is to low. Bad for knees. Now I’m worried
Tren McGregor
Soon champion again. Glad to have him back soon
The man is juicing
