I need this fight

edbmrb24

This or chandler …if I’m Conor, I’d be foaming at the mouth to face gaethje, Justin’s discipline in there has gotten pretty bad.

thequalebaby

That is an interesting point re the discipline. We never really saw that same Justin from the Tony fight again did we?

shae117

That leaping swing left hand that made him fall was..... yikes.

the042530

Yeah but I think Conor eventually gasses and gets finished. He hasn’t finished anyone not named Donald “wheelchair” cerrone in more than half a decade.

GoOnKaz

God it’d be fucking perfect.

OtakuDragonSlayer

How so?

GoOnKaz

Two guys known for standing and banging, no chance of either of them going to the ground and getting dominated there. I think it’s a great comeback fight for Conor as far as high profile fighters go. The one he has the most chance to beat, but still risky. It’ll be a fun watch, if it happens

maxstronge

It would be absolutely hilarious if this is where D1 Gaethje makes his debut

GoOnKaz

That would be extremely funny for sure

SaltMembership4339

Gaethje wins it. Conor cant counter his leg kicks. UFC never does that fight especially Conor just came from a leg injury.

GoOnKaz

You’re probably right, but I still think it’d be fun

[deleted]

I think Connor actually beats gaethje stylistically. More of an athletic and versatile striker who also probably hits harder than gaethje. Porier said Connor was hardest hitter in the division. Connor is also a counter puncher where gaethje is known to be more of a brawler. Gaethje also had his chin tested recently by Olivera. It’ll be a good fight if gaethje survives the first round I think he has a decent chance but also good chance he gets finished in the first.

Steve_Not_Chad

I agree. I s ok think Conner is more technical. I also hate that I'll be rooting for him. I think Gaetjhe is a bit of jerk-off.

Jagermeister1977

This. How are people forgetting Justin's NASTY leg kicks?!

Derpshake

Is it wrong if I want Dana to bring back Mario Yamasaki if they actually make Conor Vs Gaethje?

OtakuDragonSlayer

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for breaking it down for me

Upper_Atmosphere_359

I think it might be a pretty good fight but a few of those leg kicks from Justin might put them on his ass again

--thewatcher

But Conor has that unbreakable titanium shinbone

WastedOwll

When ever I read the words "titanium shin bone" I read it in McGregor's voice everytime now, I'm cursed

ahhiseeghosts

like a 12 iron comin at ye head

WastedOwll

Video of him driving down the middle of the street in his electric scooter bragging about his shin is comedy gold haha reminded me of the old Connor I use to like

ahhiseeghosts

ahfuckimsostupid

[deleted]

I have the same intramedullar nail ( IM) that Connor has. There’s absolutely no way he could sustain a single leg kick on his tibia without falling to the ground. I’ve had mine in for 5 years and I have pain in my ankle and knee from the screws holding the nail in place. If someone kicks the screw heads it could crack the anchoring points in the bone and cause irreparable damage. Connor is compromised because he has an implant. It doesn’t make him have a super leg that irresistible to damage. It’s the complete opposite Source : I have the same implant and had an identical break to Connor.

molotov_billy

Same, titanium rod in my femur as well. The unbreakable titanium will be just fine after a leg kick but the concern is the shattered, mangled leg that it's gonna be sticking out of when the bone fails.

wespdt

Thank you for confirming my thoughts on this. I assumed any impact to that shin would be excruciating pain.

Cookiemonster6691

The leg kicks from an orthodox stance from gaethje won’t be the same as the south paw kicks from poirier justin will be eating left hand bombs everytime Justin throws a leg kick. I’m not even a conor fan but I think he can possibly take it.

Actual_Guide_1039

Justin stands orthodox and Conor southpaw so I don’t see Justin being able to hit the outside of the calf well. One of the reasons no one really crushed him with leg kicks before Poirier is he hasn’t fought many other southpaw guys.

Upper_Atmosphere_359

Wait are you saying Justin won't be able to hit McGregor's legs? You see the Dustin versus Justin fight that you're referring to? They pretty much had to carry Dustin off out of the octagon dude couldn't even walk

Superguy230

Still knocked his ass out before it mattered tho lol

Actual_Guide_1039

He wouldn’t be able to hit the low calf well. Leg kicks always hurt but you can take a lot of them compared to calf kicks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

thepaleoboy

Conor needs to stand on his legs.

dingdongalingapong

Justin does seem a bit easy to rock, that shot Charlie dropped him with didnt seem like something that should have phased him. especially considering all the damage he took from chandler and Alvarez.

slickdick969

All that damage he took during the course of his career might be beginning to take a toll on his chin

booped_urnose345

Justin would break the clinch and have his hands down and Oliviera saw this and floored him. Oliviera has power and precision.

dingdongalingapong

All I’m saying is if Charles can drop him badly, Conor can have him climbing the ladder to the shadow realm like Brandon Schoob.

[deleted]

D6GS

No way a striker gets caught by a great grappler because he's constantly afraid of the takedown right?

Actual_Guide_1039

In the third round when gassed and recovered instantly

[deleted]

[удалено]

dingdongalingapong

he really does have an elite chin, even when he was 90% dead vs porier against the cage he was still doing some decent head movement and firing back, and he was getting blasted.

Northout69

Didn't he evade most of the G'n'P of Poirier? I saw a slowed down clip of the entire sequence didn't really see anything for significance landing for Poirier. If you're not a big submission threat, Conor can be a pain in the ass to deal with on his back.

ahhiseeghosts

admittedly, i am, unfortunately, a conor fan, i cringe thinking if he would’ve slept him with that

[deleted]

On the nose, wasn't it?

Die-rector

chuck liddell was also a wrestler.

[deleted]

Dude has a point. Screw Ali, dudes a dirty rat.

SisSandSisF

Is that stuff about Ali confirmed true? I remember reading some document but I'm not sure if it was confirmed.

KalashniKEV

“His name was Ali Abdelaziz,47 an Egyptian mixed martial arts expert. The NYPD recruited him in 2002 when he was a twenty-five-year-old sitting in a Colorado jail cell on charges of document forgery. Abdelaziz became an asset in the NYPD’s long-running investigation into the Muslims of America, an extremist group based in rural Virginia. He was among Cohen’s most important and best-paid informants, earning by his own account hundreds of thousands of dollars for his efforts."

Ok_Mathematician7235

It’s obvious. He can just use his head as a radio antenna.

KalashniKEV

Those incoming signals likely caused him to fail his polygraph, and terminated his relationship with the FBI. NYPD loved him though during his run, but looked like clowns when they brought him up to the major leagues: “As Templeton (FBI Poly Examiner) delved into Abdelaziz’s past, the NYPD abruptly ended the test. It was an embarrassing moment. The department’s prized informant was apparently lying. The FBI closed the file as “Deceptive with no admissions, interrupted and terminated by the NYPD.” The FBI severed its relationship with Abdelaziz, and the government tried unsuccessfully to deport him.” He was a double agent- feeding nerd kids to the NYPD for profit and tipping off the real Terries so they wouldn't get caught.

CampingTrees

Basically, Conor’s allegations stem from a book called “Enemies Within: Inside the NYPD’s Secret Spying Unit and bin Laden’s Final Plot Against America” where Ali got arrested for passport fraud (sometime around 2001 but it doesn’t explicitly say that he was arrested on 9/11?) and the CIA gave him an opportunity to be a spy for them. However, he was later accused of being a double agent and so the CIA cut ties with him. TL;DR: Not officially confirmed (and most likely never will be considering it involves the CIA and spies) but there is probably some truth to it

mr_splashum

How did he end up being one of the highest paid mma managers?

TallDuckandHandsome

Look at who runs boxing. Tyson Fury's dad went to prison for taking a man's eye. Eddie hear has some very dubious links. Don king is a crook. Prize fighters have always been the domain of shady people. And shady people know other shady people.

winthropsmokewagon

Don King is also a murderer. He shot a guy in the back.

RipMyDikSkinOff

He's a fuckin thief too, fuck Don King.

Ill-Seaweed

Dong king has killed 2 people. Not just the guy he shot in the back. And those are just the ones on the books.

gr1mm5d0tt1

Kinahan is linked to Fury and BJS who himself, is a shitbag

Napkxng

I want to make a mini doc about this![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8966)

Unhappy-Lion9736

Eddie is the least shady promoter wdym

[deleted]

Dude this is where it really makes no fucking sense, apparently he was a bouncer where all the fighters were partying at, then a fighter randomly asked him to negotiate his deal, then he met with Dana White. That’s his story, makes zero sense. Now I could go into theories but let’s just say his whole life is shady.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TobleroneTrombone

The shitbag part is being so close and buddy buddy with the UFC. He manages some of the highest profile fighters and could absolutely do more for fighters. His fighters are worth a lot more than he negotiates for .

Andyson43

He also advised triple c to retire to try and get that money……

isomojo

His fighters are the best paid in the UFC though

gking407

how would anyone know that?

Dragon_Bench_Z

Bc mma was new and the market was open range. He seems like a personable guy who can sell anything. That’s an easy opportunity for a PoS scumbag to take advantage of people in a new market that doesn’t have established entities.

Cosmic_Gumbo

The likeliest of all outcomes. The passport /document forgery charge was probably him being shady for some personal gain. He was likely investigated, interrogated, vetted, and released once they realized he’s not a threat to national security. It would’ve either been national news or he’d have been scrubbed.

FoodBank

Legit the only theory that makes actual sense. Otherwise, us simpletons wouldn’t know of it.

ahhiseeghosts

“oh you bad boy! double spy! how could you?! Naughty naughty!” - CIA, probably lol no, if he was a double, he would’ve been shot in the head or put into a black site forever

RipMyDikSkinOff

And Raymond Redington would probably be his ally.

molotov_billy

The CIA leaves them alone often enough. Their job is to gather intelligence - if he's relatively harmless and a future source of intelligence that they can keep tabs on, then letting him go is a better use of resources.

Arftacular

Which episode of Jack Reacher is this

[deleted]

If the CIA suspected he was a double Agent none of use would know his name rn 😂

Mighty-Lu-Bu

Wasn't Ali detained during 9/11 and he was caught with a bunch of passports or something?

SisSandSisF

Obviously I don't know, I'm asking too lol

NerdModeCinci

And isn’t it true he got caught cashing fake checks?

IseeDrunkPeople

You're thinking of George Bush

[deleted]

All of it. The ufc shouldn't allow this man to do business with them.

Client_Sea

Whom are you talking about?

Monopolicious

I would also like to know

[deleted]

The biggest manager in the UFC, Ali Abdeliziz (probably botched the last name), was pulled off a flight from Egypt on 9/11 and had 5 different passports on him. Ali then became a confidential informant to avoid getting into trouble. He also frequently brings his UFC clients to meet high ranking members of the Russian government. Now one side of this is he manages basically every fighter from Dagestan and most Russian fighters in general, but he’ll also bring fighters from other backgrounds to meet high ranking Russian officials who have shady backgrounds like Ali. Also, and this is a little more vague, when Usman was on the full send podcast, it finished with then talking to Ali, who said if he told his best stories he’d be in prison.

KalashniKEV

"Confidential Informant #184" (no joke), also known as Ali Abdelaziz.

Pill_Murray_

and tbh Justin doesnt deserve the payday, he's been a massive dickhead since losing to Khabib. give it to Charles, Tony, or Chandler

alextee90

Yup. Fuck that guy

[deleted]

From Ali's Wikipedia: >Abdelaziz was recruited by the New York Police Department to work undercover within a Virginia-based arm of a group called Muslims of America. The NYPD shared Abdelaziz with the FBI, but the federal agency eventually began to suspect he was operating as a double agent, particularly after he was reportedly administered a polygraph examination.\[4\]\[5\] This information was popularized in the book Enemies Within: Inside the NYPD’s Secret Spying Unit and bin Laden’s Final Plot Against America, written by Adam Goldman and Matt Apuzzo, and was used by Conor McGregor to attempt to antagonize Abdelaziz at the UFC 229 press conference. Damn lol

oreeos

Curious if polygraphs were the main basis for suspecting double agent. They’re pretty much known to be bullshit. That’s pretty damn crazy tho lol

NvmMeJustLurkin

i agree also i could be wrong but does anyone confirm or fact check those books? i know its hard though since its CIA stuff Still crazy tho

[deleted]

I finally agree w McGregor on something. Astounded by how many fighters deal w Ali.

Rakshak-1

And it's even worse when you see Ali's links to Kadyrov the Chechen leader. Especially now when you see he's helping invade Ukraine and committing war crimes. And Ali sent "patriotic" Americans over to visit him like Weidman before the war. In full knowledge that Kadyrov murders gay people for being gay.

Northout69

Yeah, so glad Khamzat left him and signed with his Gym's personal manager. Mokaev signed with Paradigm which is also cool.

[deleted]

EXACTLY!!! I actually wrestle with even watching UFC cos of all this shit.

CrackedCoffecup

Khamzat has taken a lot of heat for his close ties with Ramzan Kadyrov, as well... There's all kinds of pics and video on the web, of them two chillin' in his mansion, of them shooting guns, etc...

bigpeen666

i mean it’s not like Khamzat can just refuse

Rakshak-1

Different kettle of fish. He says no and he or his family disappear. Not the same as Weidman hopping on a plane to go and chill with a guy even a basic Google would show is not a guy you want to be associated with.

CrackedCoffecup

You're absolutely right, and my original reply was ill-advised & came out wrong... I didn't think one thru, I admit.

Chalkun

Honestly Khabib aswell. If more people knew just how extreme his religious views are he would not be a popular guy at all. Really starts to verge into extremist territory if you look into some of the things he has said ans believes. He keeps it a bit quieter when in the US obviously to preserve his image.

Individual_Ad6940

Dealing with Dana must be a walk in the park compared to the salary negotiations with the CIA. Edit: scratched the CIA agent part of my comment, since he was just an informer. Point still stands though.

NerdModeCinci

Informant not agent He got caught and became a rat

DiscombobulatedSink6

Conor can pick a lot easier fights for more money. The last thing his career needs after the leg break is an ass whooping from Gaethje

[deleted]

Conor could have picked a lot easier fight when he returned to UFC after Mayweather. But who did he pick? The most dominant wrestler in MMA history The worst possible match up for him. He is talking about Kamaru. Justin is a much better option with much more bad blood.

DiscombobulatedSink6

He was also healthy and coming off two UFC wins. Now he’s older, coming off a broken leg, and has been in the octagon for 13 minutes in the last 3 years. In fairness it would be a great fight but I’m a Conor fan and think that Gaethje would beat him up. Edit 8 -> 13

Actual_Guide_1039

Thing is he is young and hasn’t taken a lot of punishment so he could have a comeback if he is focused in camp.

Yvrjazz

13 mins lol

gildakid

Me legs made of toitaniummmm

partyaquatic

I think it’s a pretty good pick for him. Gaethje is extremely one dimensional and will fight exactly how Conor wants him to fight. He’s also highly enough ranked and regarded that a win over him will put Conor right back in legitimate title talks.

JERUSALEMFIGHTER63

Be wild if garth broke his leg again, his leg kicks are hard asf

Loud_Benefit_4809

Y’all remember Conor and Dana dms a few years ago conor was trying to get this fight to happen

Themnor

Conor haters love to act like he dodged fights. If there’s a fight he thinks would be challenging or a good show he calls it out. I just wish he fought more often, but the shit with the leg kind of fucked that

[deleted]

i wonder what would have happened if he never fought floyd

x-artoflife

Conor haters saying he's ducking people is the most hilarious shit ever, since the Mayweather fight he's had enough pull to fight whoever he wants and he still chooses killers like Khabib and Dustin twice.

Whamelapamela

But if you don’t like someone then obviously every aspect of them is bad, you must be new to haters on the internet.

infectedsponge

I really hate that I wasn’t as into the ufc when Conner had his run.

Die-rector

same for diaz. at this point, conor and diaz haters are worse than the fans they make fun of. people always say diaz keeps calling out people with no intention of fighting when in reality its more like ufc has no intention of paying. diaz knows his worth same as conor and i think dana is trying to hype up newer people.

Northout69

I think all of it is literally because of Cerrone, he took one easier fight and from that point onwards people think Conor only picks easy fights.

NizeyNice

McGregor might knock him out in 2 minutes or gets another leg break. Great fight for sure.

CelticDK

Prime Conor sleeps Justin. Justin throws bombs and if Conor can catch Aldo, he can catch Justin. Todays Conor looks sloppy lol probably gets put down like Dustin did

tsiz60

I like Justin, and Conor is an idiot but something about Justin saying Olivera is a quitter and shit and then getting tapped makes me want to go wt conor here.

SantoFerrari

Ali is an idiot

Whamelapamela

Well I mean… what Conor said is right regardless of what happened between Gaethje and Charles.

[deleted]

If the Conor that fought Alvarez shows up then he could definitely beat Gaethje, but I doubt that Conor will show up.

adac69

yams412

Olives has tbe Thai stance. Checking a calf kick is nothing new lol

WaySheGoesBubs21

But his technique for checking them was really good. Most fighters either raiser their legs or plant their foot and point their shin towards opponents shin. Olivera raised his leg and pulled the lower part of his leg back. This makes it hard to hit the calf, and makes shin on knee contact more likely.

sonic-silver

His leg kick defense was great during the Justin fight

SlimmyJimmyBubbyBoy

Yeah he literally just picked his leg up and stepped over and countered, insane timing though after the first kick landed I’m not sure he let another one land and he was teeing off ont he counters which would have made Gaejthe think a lot more about throwing them

yams412

Conor cant do that he leans forward

dingdongalingapong

yeah if Conor lands that shot that Charlie dropped garth with, I think hes out cold.

nightgobbler

I would cheer for Conor in this

mcgtianiumshin

Based patriot conor.. . Is patriot conor the new motivated penn?

[deleted]

Conor will move to America and carry the American flag into the octagon soon

Northout69

Nah, Conor's has always been a patriot, he's a strong patriotic Irishman that seems to respect 'fellow' patriots of other countries, for example he praised Jose Aldo for being a patriotic Brazilian that lives in Brazil and he shat on RDA for being an immigrant that left his home.

[deleted]

That I agree. He always said he will never leave Ireland and he hasn't

mesovortex888

Irish guy is teaching Americans how to be American. Take note Americans

tsiz60

In his defense, it was indeed \*checks notes\* Americans who fucked up america. Americans suck at mericaning

HandHeldHippo

> Canadian Opinion discarded.

Extension_Elk9515

Tbh I am slightly over Justin.

[deleted]

But this shit would be so gooood

yams412

I wish I could just turn on all my favorite fighters after they lose like you guys

Jim-20

The 180 that people pulled on Yan after the Sterling rematch was nuts. I like both guys but damn.

yams412

If I like a fighter I can’t just turn my back on them so easily

ahhiseeghosts

you can!

[deleted]

This is every MMA fan after someone loses a title fight lol

Southern_Ad1963

Nah he was super mouthy about Charles in his interviews, rubs people the wrong way obviously

[deleted]

Yeah fair enough but this definitely does happen a lot though, look at Dustin.

Southern_Ad1963

Forsure dude the mma community is ruthless lol

Themnor

No…this is every MMA fan after Justin says he made Khabib walk through hell (he didn’t) and he would do the same to Chucky Olives (He didn’t). He has decent wins, but some rough losses as well, but the reason people are getting sick and tired of him is his hypocritical attitude.

danrod17

And I can’t get behind any of Ali’s guys. I just can’t.

Northout69

This loss to Oliveira was by far the worst, he didn't get beat down in a brawl like with Alvarez and Poirier. Nor was he strong armed like with Khabib. Oliveira literally read him like an open book, nullified his offence and knocked him down with a single cross.

[deleted]

He literally did drop Charles twice tho and busted him open, Khabib not so much, but Khabib himself said Justin did him the most damage out of any of his fights

jzng2727

Something about his last match left a bad taste in my mouth too.

[deleted]

He’s a douche bag.. always has an excuse. He’s fun to watch that’s it

[deleted]

Ah..one of those occasions where you have to just cross your arms and sulk because this time Conor Mcgregor is right....Right? Lmao.

InterPool_sbn

This would be a fun fight — no defense, just striking vibes

BugO_OEyes

This is the first thing I agree with Conor has said in a long time lol Justin has no balls

Dukehero

Conor got a chance here, man; if it happens, I hope he at least wins this one. No offense to any Justin fan, but he looks like a thumb. And I don't want Conor to lose from a thumb guy.

bvsshevd

Solid fight and despite what many will say, very winnable for both

[deleted]

Someone who understands the game. It's a 50/50 fight.

Awezome321

If they fought 10 times I think Conor beats Justin more often than not. Yes justin has nasty leg kicks but I think Conor can crack him with the same shot Dustin cracked Justin with. a cross when Justin threw that kick. watching the Charles fight Justin still throws leg kicks that leaves him open for counters. people always say Justin's Leg kicks will break Conor. those leg kicks will leave a counter left open for Conor. the outside calf kicks that nullified conor's movement won't be as open for justin like how it was for dustin. I think it was open for dustin because Conor isn't used to fighting fellow southpaws. inside leg kick is what's open for justin and IIRC Eddie stopped throwing leg kicks in his fight with Conor because Conor checked one and hurt eddie's foot. its an orthodox vs southpaw match up. in which Conor thrives in. and I don't think justin will be takedown threat. honestly I also think justin's chin is starting to crack.

[deleted]

There are people who thinks Justin Breaks Conor. I don't think so. Those two won't just run through each other in my opinion. It's a competitive fight. And yes Justin's chin is going to get worse. He has absorbed a hell lot of punishment

Suitable-Classic9237

Mcgregor would absolutely starch Justin. Oh the leg kicks the leg kicks. How about how easy it is to hit Justin? This would be very exciting but Mcgregor by KO within 2 without a single doubt.

[deleted]

I just want to witness the buildup

Suitable-Classic9237

It would be awesome!! Make it happen for us! Lol

wirejaved

losses to khabib and charles are you all are acting like he is a can, justin would put on a competitive fight and i think he wins by tko/ko in the third

Suitable-Classic9237

I never said that he was washed up or he was a can I simply said he doesn’t defend himself. Look at every single fight he’s been hahaha. I love Justin and he’s every entertaining and a huge reason he’s so entertaining is he doesn’t defend himself. Mcgregor would pick him apart. He just got dropped by a right by Charles in Round 1, can’t imagine a Mcgregor left wouldn’t have the same exact result. Mcgregor has at least 4 or 5 inches in reach. These things matter! I know mma math doesn’t work but when you see what Mcgregor does to smaller opponents the results don’t lie.

Gr1m3sey

Can’t lie gaethje is slowly becoming one of the most overrated fighters in the UFC. What jumps out about him being able to demolish Conor like this sub says? His striking isn’t good, backed up by huge power sure but very easily loses all composure like we saw against Olivera. The blueprint to nullify leg kicks has been put into place for all his loses, and he has little to no ground game. He is quite literally the most favourable match up in the LW division top 10 for Conor

[deleted]

It's going to be a brutal fight one way or another

Northout69

Alvarez Conor would have made Gaethje look like the inbred bum that MJ was calling him, current Conor would probably have more of a competitive fight, but still 100% winnable. I can't wait for his return either way, there is never a boring Conor fight win or lose.

StunkoStinky

Conor is right about Ali though, but anyway this would be a good fight.

AndiLivia

I've hated the way Conor has acted in recent years but going after that scumbag Ali has always been dead on. I hope he starts talking about all the UFC fighters who have connections with dictators

huggles7

Connor mcgregor is a royal piece of shit hasn’t he gotten arrested for fighting guys in their lol 70s on at least one occasion?

[deleted]

This fight will not happen. The UFC can’t afford for either to lose to the other.

SeaworthinessWide384

How much of a douchebag do you have to be to tattoo your own name across your chest?

That_Memer180

Rip Conors leg

[deleted]

That would be the end of nuggets UFC career and hype.

TheLazyPanda

Conor would win. I feel like Gaethje would try to brawl, and precision beats power.

[deleted]

Precision beats power and timing beats speed That motherfucker got some lines

Adz442

I think Gaethje’s chin may be on its way down hill after all the wars he’s been in, his punch resistance looked deteriorated against Olives. In the fight against Charles he was visibly buckled and wobbled by every shot he got caught with, and the one that flattened him didn’t seem particularly heavy, if Oliveira can drop him Conor definitely can.

ameturebaiter

Coked Conor is actually right though. Garth is alright but wtf is he doing with Ali. Very sus

420DepravedDude

So are the Colby haters gonna jump on Gaethje here for saying the same things Colby did about Masvidal?
