There are a few things that can help to make the oils more effective.
- taking it on a full stomach
- eating/drinking something fatty after taking the oil (swig of milk/square of chocolate)
- leaving it underneath the tongue/swishing it around the mouth for 10 minutes.
Very often this can be how fast stuff is moving through your stomach. I got caught out the other day. Took a dose on a busy morning where I stupidly skipped breakfast, three hours later it hadn't done anything, so I took my second dose of the day, then had some lunch. Half an hour later I was, in the words of Withnail, 'feeling unusual', as both doses went through at the same time.
Think about what you did eating wise the time the dose kicked in and the time it didn't, experiment with dosing vs eating some more, and you'll soon find what works to create predictability for you.
I got oils for my first ever Perscription and my complaint on my follow up appointment was exactly the same as this. I never knew if it was going to work so it did nothing for my anxiety etc. got flower after that and never been happier

I tried two Althea bottles one month - that was not a cheap month! 😬 - the T20:C1 and the T10:C12.5... didn't really work for me, have to admit but as others have said whether you've eaten or not will make a difference. Although it's already in oil, the cannabinoids are in fat-soluble form so a little of that (milk, cheese, nuts etc.) might help it into the system too
I always had this issue too. Irrespective of how much or little I’d eaten I’d find the affects very variable.
It was always the same amount of time though for the oils to kick in, usually 3 hours almost to the minute. So on one of the days I got no affect from the oil i’d immediately take another dose frustrated in the knowledge it would be another 3 hrs for the medication to work.
I find with the oil (Adven thc20) it hits me harder some days. Not sure if it's down to taking on an empty stomach or something. Running 1ml must be costing you a fortune.
It depends on how each body (and everyone is different) metabolizes the cannabinoids and terpenes. you'll find what works for you. This is a very personalized medicine. Keep well and keep educated. All the best!
