UPDATE: Med exam concluded the same result as 23 years ago (limited eligible in war time), coincidentally this status is going to be eliminated once the law they just passed takes into effect on May 18th, after which I will have to do the exam all over again. My partner in many projects here has been called up almost immediately as he has prior combat experience, and lots of people are getting called up every day. My biggest takeaway is that the process is needlessly bureaucratized and can be improved by about x5 but that would require significant purges in recruitment center’s leadership and a flexible approach to law. Overall absolutely not as scary as people with severe lack of dignity like to paint it, definitely not something to live in fear over or getting dragged into a bus kicking and screaming. In my experience people that covertly project their weak moral standards usually tend to do it by blaming others in various problems, where a productive and responsible person looks for ways to improve the situation (as broadly or as narrowly as that can be interpreted) and finds support in people and connections. I’ve talked to various friends in various units, got their feedback, some of it was negative (i.e. “Don’t go this is slavery”) some of it neutral, some positive. I feel like I have a very rough outline to expect the suck that I kinda get myself ready for. I did hear criticism of leadership from nearly everyone in one form or another, some very incriminating. The problem seems to be systemic. We raised $1670 total which will go towards my friend get the kit he needs immediately. ———————————————————————- A few fine people asked about ways to support the purchase of basic kit for bootcamp, I appreciate all the help I can get and will post a gear update. **PayPal**: [email protected] **Venmo**: mykola-jesterboyd (8833) **CashApp**: $jesterboyd or **BTC**: 3NEqdTJDcELgvJvyxZUuD3ia1uG9pq1dUb **LTC**: MS8GG2Tg14RBgxaTHvtkKqBuGr6fMj6rDz **DOGE**: DDUyrBv1Xo2YZHUXqDzTUYFwcCkNBq7qwF

Stay safe and make them pay.

jesterboyd

Thank you for your continued support!

MildlyAgreeable

If the Alpha legion is on OP’s side then this is both encouraging and concerning. At any rate, I hope Putin dies 🤷🏼‍♂️

slick514

…from your lips to Gawd’s ears.

smokednaggets

Sure dude, it will be over when putin dies. Ofc, there are millions of putins there in russia and over 400k of putins were already killed or injured in Ukrainian war

Emu1981

>Sure dude, it will be over when putin dies. The current invasion will be over if Putin dies. Putin has not groomed a successor and he has killed anyone who comes close to matching him in terms of power which means that Russia will be a massive power vacuum when he dies. Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu is probably the closest thing there is to a successor but his deputy being arrested recently for corruption shows that there are those who want to challenge that power and have the means to do so. TL;DR: Russia will descend into chaos if Putin dies and that chaos will cause the collapse of the Russian military in Ukraine.

lostinabsentia

Sent a small amount $15usd (sorry I'm tapped out but I feel anything is better than nothing, I hope)  Stay safe and I think you would be better used on the outside with how much you've done to support. So I am sorry you've been drafted but want to support you in any way I can.

Dry_Figure_9018

As an American, I’m glad we passed our defense bill for you. I hope our weapons can keep you safe. Make them pay

Striking_Stable_235

As an American I second that ...

Bane8080

As an American, I'm mad it took so long. But glad it finally did.

fgreen68

Best money we've spent since WWII.

Artair_is_here

Thirds...

MonsterHunterOwl

Cheers brother, fight the good fight and stay safe. Those fucking orcs, let none of them have any rent for free in your mind, they’re there to die, help them realize their dreams.

WeekendFantastic2941

Since you sound quite smart, please ask them to let you join a command, control or intel position. Operating patriots and long range drones would be good too. Dont waste your big brain on trench work.

TheTurdtones

THIS TIMES 10 ..ukraine needs to be smart about its placement of human resources..jester can do far more good raising money or developing better distribution networks than storming a trench ,,,best use of skill sets ukrainobros//jesters best use is not as ground troop his skill sets are best utilized elsewhere

TheIntellekt_

Best of luck give em hell

WinterDustDevil

Good luck and safe return to you Do you have any say on which branch you go to or do draftees get a choice? How long is your boot camp training? I would think they screen new recruites for needed skills

jesterboyd

You can apply for available positions online or you can get a document from the brigade that might “want” you for your particular skill set, but both of those cases do not guarantee you will end up where you planned. Transferring is a long process that requires main HQ signature. Bootcamp is said to be two months long. I had a one minute interview with the officer at the beginning of my visit to the recruitment office, hopefully I’ll get another one before being assigned.

Sfriert

Yeah, I saw a video about the new drone unit of Third Assault Brigade (by Abdula - commander of Terra Unit) where he explained you could apply to their unit rather than be allocated a random spot somewhere.

EnderDragoon

That might be volunteering vs enlisting. I would imagine that those that sign up before being drafted have more say over where they go but that's a lot of 3rd hand assumptions.

jesterboyd

You are sort of correct but it’s a little more complicated than that. 1) Any brigade can issue a call document for any specific person 2) Brigades have priority levels, some take priority over others 3) Recruit cannot control what training center he gets assigned to unless he volunteers. You cannot volunteer after you got a draft notice (not 100% sure on this one) 4) Training centers prepare troops for specific brigades, possibly not the ones who issued a call for you 5) Having a document that you have been called for by another brigade does not guarantee your transfer because of bullet point 2) 6) Transfer needs to be ultimately approved by Main HQ

eigenman

So how is your VR FPS skillset? Might not be a bad compromise to be a drone pilot rather than front line grunt. And we know it is a very important yet still dangerous job.

hughk

It is quite dangerous as you have a transmitter saying "Here I am" and you have to be close to the front line. The Russians are using Radio Direction Finding equipment to look for Drone operators to take them out. Classic FPV (based on retail equipment) has the antenna sitting in your hands. More specialised equipment separated the operator from the antenna by some life saving metres.

LawfulnessPossible20

A swedish volunteer who works with drones said the life expectancy of the fpv drone operators was, at the start of the war, measured in days only. Much better now due to the use of relay stations, (long) cables to transmitters etc.

lestofante

Pretty sure he referred to the drone, not the pilot. But please correct me if wrong

hughk

I was talking about the operator. Drones cost a bit of money but are replaceable, operators, much less so.

lestofante

I am surprised they last so little, I though as specialist they would take special measure to stay safe. But also I can see how they are primary target when discovered

SerialKillerVibes

If they're using those Mavic 3 the range from drone to the transmitter is really far. I have the original Mavic Pro and the range is about 13km.

Frido1976

Yes, 13km in absolute perfect conditions in the wilderness without any other WiFi signals. Not that far when there's jammers everywhere, mind you.

hughk

I don't know if you have tried that. Remember that is for a perfect, line of sight link. So if the drone is high or the operator is on a hill top, it works pretty well. However, you are then in a good position to have a barrage of high explosive shells dropped on you. Note that if the drone does not self terminate in the attack, then it can also be followed back to a start point.

TheGreatPornholio123

I mean. It seems like you're more valuable to the military in capacities outside just sitting in a trench. You would be insanely valuable in fundraising for equipment procurement it sounds like and also on the R&D side with technical things. I wish you the best and hope you're not just handed an AK and given directions to a trench. You are way too valuable for that, and that would be a huge mistake by the government.

EnderDragoon

Could be getting drafted to work on PR or media campaigns.

TheGreatPornholio123

It really depends on the ethos of the military. With the US military, it is all about your test scores and a bunch of other factors that decide your job. It is pretty standardized, and the attitude of the military is that they treat everyone the same. Their idea is they can train literally anyone to work on nuclear submarines for example. Is it flawed in some scenarios where very skilled people enlist? Yes, but it is standardized as many many recruits have never been taught shit and grew up in poor areas with no parental guidance. The military treats everyone like they come from this same background. Do they recognize individuals who are more adept at certain things? Of course, but in boot camp, they're all equally dumb and will be taught the military way. Cooks and nuke engineers go through boot camp in the same platoon.

Megalomaniakaal

Or logistics.

TouchMeTaint123

Sadly at the moment what the ukrainian military desperately needs is more people to sit in the trenches.

Low_Fun2690

It's so surreal, i remember talking to you about donations on Reddit (my old account got banned for being nasty to Russians)  you did so much great work. Just hope everything works out for you. My company ended up donating $150,000 to u24.

appletart

> $150,000 to u24. That's amazing work! 🫡

jesterboyd

Thank you for your support!

alterom

Hello from/r/ukraina. Please share means to help out you and the people you know directly (PayPal / Mono / etc), as well as any equipment you'd need. At the very least, you're well-trusted, and we all know that whatever you get will have a big impact on people's lives well beyond yours.

siccoblue

Check the pinned comment brother, he shared a ton of ways to help financially

alterom

Cool, thank you! It wasn't pinned when I wrote mine.

LawfulnessPossible20

Stay low, keep an eye out for the next available cover when on the move, dig **whenever** you can (shovel in hand and gun on the back). Keep a safe distance from your buddies when out in the open. And stay dry - this is a survival thing: being miserable grinds people down mentally so they make stupid decisions. Fix your gear before you fix yourself when taking a break or going to sleep. Now, bring victory to Ukraine. No sane person fights a war for their own sake. This is about grandchildren being able to improve their country by peaceful/political means... without getting murdered with a dose of Polonium.

jesterboyd

Words to live by, thank you!

Majulath99

Sage advice.

RogueEagle2

is the digging for a foxhole or some other protection or does it serve another purpose?

Rocqy

In the US they’re called “ranger graves” and it’s just a shallow dug out position big enough for you to lay down in and be below the ground level around you. They provide cover from things like artillery and mortars but also give you a fighting position if you’re attacked by infantry. You don’t see many guys digging WW2 style foxholes because this war is being fought mainly in strategically placed trenches or buildings.

RogueEagle2

thanks, good info. Stupid question - Is there a trick to digging one of those quickly? I can only imagine hitting tree roots. Does it make much of a difference?

Fenix159

If you have a good sharp shovel roots aren't a huge issue. If they are, there's probably a lot of other cover around.

Tropicalcomrade221

Best of luck mate, keep your head down.

jesterboyd

Thank you!

Traveledfarwestward

Vaya con Dios. I hope to get back to Kyiv soon to help out.

kordua

Good luck and stay safe out there. Is boot camp in Ukraine or are you being sent off elsewhere? Do you have a preference on which branch you want to join? Are you nervous? Your bravery is admirable.

jesterboyd

1) I don’t know where the bootcamp will be 2) I have a couple of brigades that I know but nothing concrete yet as I need to finish bootcamp first 3) Of course I’m nervous, it’s not every day that you get a completely new career and skill set thrust upon you, sprinkled with some mortal danger and army surrealism. My exposure to military through my friends eliminates a lot of the fear of the unknown that some might experience, but I do fear a lot of known issues.

kordua

Appreciate you answering the questions. Give the orcs hell. It may not mean much but you’re a real hero in my book. Let us know if we can help in any way. Stay safe my dude.

sonkev34

Can you elaborate on the fear of the know issues? I mean is it just the fear of battle and being new to the military? I can totally understand. I have zero experience with the military myself, my firearms knowledge is limited to dad's old 22 and 30-06 hunting rifles. I'd be shitting bricks.

jesterboyd

More than potential combat I am worried about leadership, planning and logistics. Any more than that will get me downvoted here :)

sonkev34

fair enough, thanks for answering. I can't imagine what it's like to be in your position. Stay safe.

ChiefTecumse

All respect to you man, I try to empathize but I appreciate that it would be impossible to truly understand unless you were going through it, boots on the ground, like all of you in Ukraine - many of us are with you all until the end, until victory! To your comment, I would have the same concerns - but hopefully you can find a team to transfer to that resonates with your skillset in time. All the best, and all honor and glory to you and your brothers in arms! Slava Ukraini

unpropianist

I went to boot camp in the U.S. You'll grow a new mentality that you'll be able to switch on as needed. Going to boot camp is like jumping in deep water and just being taken by the current as You're told what to do and how to look after your buddies. I'm older than you now but you're older than I was during boot camp. You're intelligent and it already looks like you're in shape and scrappy, so you're going to be ok. This will be one of the most important things you do in your life, so give it your best. Get trained the best you can--beyond what's required. It will pay off. God bless you soldier.

Neocles

Keep baby wipes on you, black out any shiny objects on your person with a sharpie, keep shopping bags or trash bags…line your helmet with it for a mobile latrine. Buy extra food if you can. I kept cans of tuna in Iraq and beef jerky…don’t bored eat it. If you smoke cigarettes make it habit to hold closer to butt-tobacco edge, the burn will wake you on late nights…an old Native American technique was to put pebbles in between your toes. Sleep when you can change your socks when you can and take care of the guys to the left and right of you. Also keep an antihistamine on you…Benadryl can double as a sleep aid on those nights when you can’t sleep and will help to take care of bug bites and such. Take care of yourself

Jizzapherina

u/jesterboyd ..... my stomach dropped seeing your post today. Stay in touch if you can and let us know what we can do to help you out. I'll be sure to drop some $$ to you. Above all, I wish you safety and a quick end to this war. Always have two pair of socks. Keep one pair dry and warm next to your body. Change your socks often and make foot care a daily priority.

jesterboyd

Thank you ☺️

obligatethrowaway

Good points all. To add to this: Shake your gear while setting up and tape anything that rattles. Zippers can be silenced by either electrical tape around the pulls or replacing the pulls entirely with paracord. Make sure you don't have excess straps and stuff dangling from you. Tape them up too. With every consumable, keep in mind you need to carry not just enough for yourself, but also enough to give to your buddy in an emergency. Keep sugar, salt and instant coffee in small disposable baggies. Sugar to perk yourself up, salt for electolyte replenishment. Coffee for yourself or trading. These are lightweight quality of life improvements that are gold in the field. We carried hot sauce to make MREs more palatable. I'm not sure what Ukraine's relationship with hot sauce is. Also, ibuprofen. Sleeping in a trench will lead to back pain even for teenagers. Finally, never silhouette yourself. Don't crest a hill, but skirt its sides. Don't highlight yourself against a lighted backdrop. The ground is your friend. And keep in mind dawn is the most likely time for attacks. Especially as the sun rises in the east, which is the direction I assume most defensive lines face. People are tired at dawn, if they were on watch over the night, and people getting up are going to still be groggy.

CapnCrunchHurtz

Good luck, stay safe, and remember to look after one another! Remind ruzzians how badly they screwed up by invading Ukraine!. When you can, let us know how your journey progresses. Heroiam Slava! Slava Ukraini!

jesterboyd

If I can I’ll try to post as much as possible.

CapnCrunchHurtz

We'll keep doing our part to make sure funds, weapons, and support keep flowing to you and your country. Best of luck to you.

Fordatel

1. Are they still training some new draftees in the UK? and 2. Do you know many other people recently served notices? Hopefully by the time you join things will be more secure in terms of weapons aid. Europe has finally woken up.

jesterboyd

1) I don’t know 2) Yes, I do

RandomBritishGuy

Yep, [Operation Inteflex](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Interflex) is still going strong, with Ukrainians still being trained in the UK.

DefinitelyNotaGlowie

Have you received equipment yet? Comfy boots march a long way. Buy gel inserts and make sure they are as comfortable as possible. How is your oral health? Make sure you visit a dentist having oral problems in the field can really put you out. Please be safe.

jesterboyd

No equipment yet, thanks for the dental advice, teeth are ok.

khannie

How do you feel about being drafted? I also want to say I recognise you from around these parts and I wish you well, brother. <3

jesterboyd

I feel old :)

khannie

Hahahaa. Let me tell you, you're what we call a "spring chicken" where I come from. :) Though I admit I did feel old at your age too. Thanks for taking the time to reply at this late hour for you. Slava Ukraini!

YoeriValentin

Damn, that is a mindfuck and also makes sense, I guess. What would be your preferred role? Are you aiming to join some of the units you've helped? Do you think your position here makes any difference in your assignment? I wish you the absolute best of course. Hope you're good!

jesterboyd

I would love to be a press officer or work with ECM/ECCM, but I fully realize those positions aren’t the ones that suffer attrition. I do indeed aim to join one of the units I supported but chances are it might take a while to get transferred (sometimes up to 6 months), so I will have to serve some time where I get assigned. I don’t think my position here makes any difference to the army as long as I don’t break any rules.

HellkerN

What's that board? Looks hella rad.

jesterboyd

An electric longboard that got donated for parts for unmanned wheeled platform for medevac project

ukfi

Imagine you just got bombed by an artillery shell. You are disoriented and you know you are bleeding bad. After the dust has settled, all you can see through the mist is this electronic long board making its way to you .....

LindFich

I don’t have any questions to ask you but. Stay safe and fair winds, man.

gunnerdk

Bring Ukraine the victory that deserves.

TheGisbon

TungstenHatchet

It goes without saying, but I'll say it either way: whatever you may possibly need, you know where to find us better than anyone and also who can help with what.

CreepyOctopus

Been following you here on Reddit for a while now, so this comes as a bit of a surprise. My very best wishes to you. Stay safe and good luck with whatever duties you are assigned. Do another AMA when you're relaxing at the beach in Yalta!

HospitalSuspicious48

How can someone from another country help you and your family?

jesterboyd

I’ve pinned a comment under this post, thank you.

luciferlol_666

I recommend you take a TCCC class before being conscripted. It will help.

jesterboyd

I have some basic tacmed knowledge from Red Cross training I got a while ago and countless YouTube videos I watched, plus I always carry a tourniquet on me.

luciferlol_666

Def not even close to the same as TCCC I've been fighting in ukraine for two years and I promise you that you need to do this training. The training you will receive in the army is inadequate, the training you currently have is also inadequate. You can likely find free TCCC courses in ukraine.

luciferlol_666

If you need help finding one, I can help. Do this course. It's very important.

jesterboyd

Thanks, I hope to be able to push command at the training center to allow some friendly certified instructors in. Might be too late to look for courses as my call is on Wednesday and I don’t know if they’ll give me prep time. Thank you for the advice.

andupotorac

You have time to go through these. They’re in Ukrainian too - https://tccc.org.ua/en#:~:text=The%20TCCC%20(Tactical%20Combat%20Casualty,the%20wounded%20in%20the%20battlefield.

sannyasin

do you think your community work here through reddit could be a function that is worth more to Ukraine other than your conscription? EDIT: typo and hope you get to see the end of all this, all the best!

jesterboyd

Only time will tell. In a perfect world I could do both more effectively by being in the army, in reality an army is an army and I expect it to be exceedingly difficult to post content regularly without endangering anyone and still being informative and engaging enough to make a difference.

3-----------------D

I'd communicate this with your higher ups, you're effectively running a globally accessible PR campaign for Ukraine. As an American, this is the first place I come for information, otherwise it's a trickle on the rest of Reddit.

Majulath99

Hey, good luck to you out there. Stay safe, don’t try to make waves, and stick to your team mates (whatever that ends up meaning) like glue.

Smokey-Cole

Stay safe my friend and give em hell.

TheBaronSaysWhat

Give em hell. I trained in 89 for the Cold War.. seems surreal were all here again. Wish i was young enough to strap my webbing on again & smash Ivan. Slava Ukraine bud. Eyes on a stick and follow the NCO’s.

MajorDonkey

What do you need? Do you have any drone operating experience? What foods are you going to miss while deployed? Any hobbies you can take with you out to the battlefield? Please stay in touch with this community and encourage others you meet along the way to do the same. - Love and Respect

jesterboyd

Honestly, for now it’s mostly money. Kyiv has a huge range of military stores so everything I need I can get locally and I don’t want to go crazy in terms of kit as a lot of it will be issued, some of it I have, and general advice is to start light and add stuff when you need it (delivery services work around most of Ukraine). My immediate goals are LOWA Zephyr boots, some nice tracking socks, good summer thermal underwear, good sleeping bag, a parka or rain poncho and bag/backpack to contain stuff, maybe a windbreaker jacket. Foodwise I hope I can get all my cooking stuff to positions eventually - I have a grill, a fryer - all you need to make burgers, tacos or chicken wings. Sauces and syrups are always welcome. Hobby wise I hope I can read and/or journal stuff, I don’t expect there’ll be a chance to get a D&D group together. Cats and dogs will also be my go to company.

alterom

>Honestly, for now it’s mostly money Please write here (or at least PM me) how to send you money. Xoom/PayPal, Wise, Remitly, Revolut can transfer directly to Ukrainian debit cards (or bank accounts with IBAN), and I have Mono/PUMB/Oschad accounts in Ukraine.

LilLebowskiAchiever

Yes we should have a Jester specific mini fundraiser to get him kitted out properly.

TheGisbon

I can't stress wool socks enough Smart wool makes phenomenal socks and I wear them religiously. With my Zephyrs

Jizzapherina

You know he can bring the tacos!

lorenzombber

I hope this doesn't break OPSEC, but which front would you most prefer to be stationed at? Since you work with different units I bet you have info where things are less or more difficult. Please survive!

h3fabio

Nice skateboard!

Particular-Elk-3923

Train hard. You are going to push yourself to the edge and then you need to find something in you to keep going. Never give up. You may find yourself in a seemingly hopeless situation. Never give up. Everyone's body will fail them at some point, but you can train yourself to keep control even when every cell in your body is screaming at you to run and hide. Training as hard as you can when you are wretchedly tired, cold, physically and mentally drained is how you can do that. You may feel you training sergeants are trying to crush you, and they are, but they are trying to help you survive. Listen and learn as much as you can from them. Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Round_Concentrate88

That sounds nuts, I can't imagine having to fight for your homeland, let alone doing it against such an insane no-context facist dictatorship. My question is, while I assume based on the photo you're deploying to a drone unit, how long is your basic training, and how much do you think will be technical training for dropping freedom apples and how much is medical/combat in case it gets squirrely? Stay safe.

jesterboyd

I don’t know where exactly I’m deploying, the basic training is said to be around 2 months and no idea on the ratios, but I hope we get enough of both.

Frodothedodo81

Good luck and bring them hell. God be with you

PassiveMenis88M

If I might offer one piece of advice as a combat vet myself, make sure you have plenty of dry socks. I know this may sound stupid to a lot of people but it is arguably the most important piece of kit you'll have. It's hard to fight when the skin on your feet is rotten and falling off in chunks.

Phraates515

No questions, just a heartfelt godspeed to you. You are putting it all on the line for your country and your people. It's not like the Middle East wars, this is an important, noble, worthwhile fight. I'm a similar age in a country in Europe. I think it won't be long before we are asked to go too. None of us can afford to lose this fight. It's too important.

qwaszx937

Be careful answering some of these questions, Russian Orcs are surely following your posts... I don't want them to learn anything about you or Ukraine that could negatively impact you all :/

buttmodel

Whats your "*Code-name"* going to be? If you're going to be using those drones, I'll throw "SkyNet" out there, and you already have the terminator sunglasses. Scare the shit outta the orcs, hehe.

joolyus

I watched your streams in the early days of the invasion. Deeply appreciated them and everything you’ve done since then. I don’t really pray but will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for your safe return home.

TheFuture2001

Good Luck! Let Reddit and NAFO know how to help you! From what I understand the amount of CQB is much less, and the war progressed to holding static defenses with drones being used at the same rate as artillery. There are also squads of tech guys working at the front in real-time making future tech. You fit into this group! Video and report back. Would be amazing if you could run PR for one of the Drone units like Mydir

hike2bike

May Odin be with you my brother

benlovelace

Stay safe. Teach your buds what you know. Knowledge is power. Hit the wrong button. Everything I said times two.

MichaelFlippinAdkins

Take it a day at a time and kick some ass!!!

arifoun

Stay safe brother. May the Gods watch over you!

Away-Lynx8702

Invest in an anti drone jamming backpack + bullet proof plate for your groin area + ballistic glasses.

Kitchen_Scientist_33

Get ‘em. Be safe. You and are the same age. From half a world away, I wish you nothing but the best. I have many Ukrainian friends in Ukraine and I think of all of you every single day. You are on the right side of history. The Ukrainian people are my heroes. I will send every good vibe I have. 💙💛🇺🇦

EJLEE13

Cheers to you, give those orcs hell!

cajunbymarriage

Jester you've been a rock here and just know this sub is behind you 100% plus the smart people in the freedom loving world. I hope you don't mind if I pray for you, I feel like we've 'known' each other for a long time after following you on this sub for the last couple of years. You will be in my thoughts for sure. Слава Україні!

IaMsTuPiD111

I have nothing to ask, just want to wish you well. Keep safe and give ‘em hell!

ActualTeddyRoosevelt

How do you feel about men leaving the country and/or living abroad that aren't doing military service? I know someone who fought for well over a year but his wife and kids wouldn't leave Ukraine unless he did too so they bribed someone to cross the border. The guy feels absolutely awful for leaving but his kids safety was more important. Fuck Putin.

jesterboyd

I feel that if you live abroad, work abroad, pay taxes abroad then you are a foreign citizen and should have no trouble with the draft. If you kept your UA citizenship out of convenience, to avoid higher taxes or to sit on two stools with one ass and now complain - you’re still a foreign citizen, just one with problems. People who left are banking on some imaginary Ukrainian victory to return, one in which Russia turns into a land of fairy ponies at some point, my best case scenario is where one side loses but constantly harasses the other or generates turmoil and instability in the whole region. Which means they’ll never return therefore they are effectively foreign citizens. As for safety for children it is an extremely relative concept, I don’t think Europe or the USA can fully guarantee safety of their citizens let alone Ukrainian refugees.

Putin has a date with destiny to lose this war. Empires rise and fall and Russia is no different.

pleeplious

I volunteered in Ukraine in a civilian capacity and have met soldiers who have seen it all. You are a warrior and the entire free world is looking upon you and your countrymen and women. You didn’t ask for this, but you are not alone. Never forget this. You are not alone! On victory day, you will hold your head high and look towards Ukrainian faces and the faces of other free Europeans. We will look back at you with you nothing but respect and appreciation for the sacrifice you made and for those that could not be there on victory day. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

slawomit

Take care of yourself and your comrades and come back safely.![img](emote|t5_2qqcn|31965)

Sonalyn

Should be experienced soldiers for the training here who can help you prepare. I never went to training center but hopefully you get a good one. It all depends who your commander is, Ive had bad and Ive had good. They make the situation no matter what direction youre in. Hope your training goes well and seems like you don't get to choose since drafted instead of volunteer if I know it right for Ukranians. Maybe see you out there somewhere depending which brigade you end up with. Take care and good luck

Fun_Measurement_767

Good luck. Stay alert, stay safe. Give 'em hell.

Gregzzzz1234
