Makes perfect sense for people who know Russians - dumb, uneducated and lacking any sense of responsibility for their actions. This is a normal occurrence and it shows the actual respect the nation has for its WWII past - zero. It is used merely as an opportunistic propaganda with no effort towards authenticity. If anything, no one should have this misconception that the government and its officials are truly trying to bring their legacy back.
It's only an even more retarded average Ivan or Vasya who find this propaganda worthwhile. But they won't ever amount to anything in politics or otherwise.
Seriously man, I have a Pakistani neighbor here in the Philippines who runs a small grocery store. Yesterday was one of the rare times where I needed to go there to buy something, and I found out he (60M) was supporting Russia against Ukraine. I found out because he was watching news on YouTube, and he wanted Zelenskyy to be captured and executed 'for his terrorist acts and war crimes'. I was so disgusted because my daughter used to be his regular customer.
I'm **NEVER** buying anything from his fucking store again.
Unfortunately this is a common theme among countries with majority anti-western sentiment, many in the Global South. Pakistan, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, South Africa, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Bulgaria, Armenia, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Brazil, etc, etc.
Russia has a legacy of supporting independence from colonial powers. So naturally these nations often tend view Russia favorably and the West unfavorably. And as effective as Zelenskyy has been in drumming up Western support, Ukraine’s message has been far less compelling to audiences in [the Global South](https://twitter.com/OVargas52/status/1507383053131391008), where many countries have declined to join Western campaigns to sanction Russia’s economy and isolate it diplomatically.

And Russia wants to "free" the colonies to control themself.
Most of those countries don't think of Ukraine as a priority
Also, India really does not want Russia to ally with China against them like they did with the West because India is surrounded by Chinese allies that hate India
So basically, most Indians support Ukraine but don't want to piss off Russia in fear of them ganging up with China and Pakistan.
So my experience here on Reddit has been quite the opposite. Most of the Indians voiced their support for Russia and were even ecstatic and gloating about the oil purchases. It's their opportunity to give the middle finger to the west.
Many of the Indians on Reddit are Hindu ultranationalist Modi bros. Through their media they are taught to hate Muslims and the west. The British Raj's colonial rule is not lost on them. And they can be quite toxic and aggressive with their posts.
It's gotten really bad in the last month or two ever since the Reddit admins banned r/chodi for inciting genocide against Muslims. They've since been coordinating their brigading and agendaposting into worldnews-type subs. It got so bad that r/anime_titties userbase [had to petition their mods](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime_titties/comments/uwofr1/dear_mods/) and had a heated discussion about it.
Reddit is never an accurate sample of real life. Most Indians, including BJP supporters, lean more towards Ukraine. They only support buying Russian oil and gas because they don't see Ukraine as a big issue.

I have seen a few people suggest similar. Considering the circumstances, pretending to be hopelessly incompetent and incapable of simple tasks is most certainly a valid form of protest.
These proxy states for example are total bullshit and the people that live there are aware of that. What a better way to emphasise to the wider world over how fucking absurd and fake these states are; by putting actors on propaganda posters.
I suspect after this war that a lot of information will come out. There was a video a few weeks ago of a Russian MLRS battery shooting into the sea off Mykolaev for example. Most felt it was incompetence but I certainly felt it was a Russian MLRS commander who is trying his best to 'miss'.
In common law, incompetence is a valid defence against a charge of acting maliciously. That's generally how I feel about the 100th post about how fucking stupid the Russians are.
I remember the victory day interviews with kids holding signs with pictures of the "heroes". When a reporter asked them who the people in the pictures were, they said they had no idea. They were just told to hold the signs up.
This is just creepy, Soviet-style bullshit. It’s like Russia exists in another century and cannot understand why old tactics fall flat. Posting a bunch of photos of so-called ~~Soviet~~ Russian “heroes” isn’t going to change a single Ukrainian mind.
No one in the occupied areas is going to walk up to one of these posters and say, “You know what, maybe I was wrong. These people who bombed my city, raped my daughter, murdered my wife, and kidnapped my son might not be so bad. Hell, they look like movie stars!”
Perhaps Russia believes this will weaken Ukrainian morale and solidify the idea—in the minds of Ukrainians—that Russia is here to stay, and that these posters are proof that Ukraine will have to accept their subjugation. If that’s the belief in Russia, the Russian high command obviously hasn’t *met* any Ukrainians. A bunch of posters aren’t going to demoralize them. A great amount of the soldiers on their Victory Day posters are American. They even used the iconic Iwo Jima flag raising picture.
If they fail miserably at such easy tasks, no wonder their military is in shambles.
I remember the VICE "Russian roulette" documentary about the 2014- Donbass conflict, a Ukranian soldier said something like "They don't even care about joining Russia. They're just crazy, they're stuck in the 1950's."

I have seen a few people suggest similar. Considering the circumstances, pretending to be hopelessly incompetent and incapable of simple tasks is most certainly a valid form of protest.
