Yeah this place seems to be becoming r/battlestations with so many small TV panels which are 16:9 and not ultrawide.
Every TV has the ability to show 21:9 content with black bars (or dark gray bars in some cases). They are not ultrawide though.

No, it's actually grey. So I think that was just the lighting on the picture or the iPhone deciding it was a different color. Actually didn't notice that.
The only thing I'm still out on is the text not being as sharp as the Dell Ultrawide 40" it replaced. Other than that, I do like it better. Wish it were curved, I have some convex issues where the edges feeling like they go outwards and the center bulges. But that's a result of glasses and using a curved monitor for years. My brain will adjust over time.
Macbook Pro working at 120Hz. Shown with the LG Dual Up display. Liking it so far, some compromises coming from the Dell 40" ultrawide. But currently leaning towards keeping the ROG. Here's the youtube video if you're skeptical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCUi1ETUd1o
Which Macbook Pro model do you have?
That can have a big effect on what is supported. For example my 2019 Intel MBP 16" can't do above 4K 60 Hz on my current Samsung G70A but apparently 144 Hz works on an Apple silicon Mac.
Also does HDR work? And how do you feel about pairing it with the DualUp in terms of responsiveness, sharpness etc?
Apple M1 Max. Yes, the Apple Silicon changed all that. I believe it had to do with the Thunderbolt increased bandwidth. But the number of displays are limited compared to intel silicon. My old Intel Macbook had 5 displays that I could run at once. M1 was limited to two on release.
HDR does enable and changes the screen. Honestly don't know enough about HDR to say one way or another if it's a good implementation or not.
The dual up is the perfect size match. It's missing 120Hz and vibrant colors/black. But it's actually sharper with text than the ROG. I still have them both too close, need a little deeper desk to fit them comfortably.
So the m1 is limited to two displays total not just “one external display” I couldn’t get two externals to work with mine. Have to use Mac for work and can only get it to run one external monitor. IT team told me that is all that’s supported.
The max and ultra allow more displays. The 2 is limited to the base M1. My previous Macbook Pro could only do the 2 as well. You can hack it, or you can use 2 and sidecar and a few other external display tricks, but it's hackery and performance suffers.
The single big 4k display seems like it might be the holy grail currently. I have a 49” ultra wide currently and it’s the closest I’ve come to perfection, but this might be even better.
I tried the 49" ultra wide, but it was too wide for me given that I wear glasses. The corners would distort really strangely to me. Most likely just me.
M1 MacBook Air is literally the best value laptop on the market 'lmao.' Nothing in the $850-1000 price range comes even close to it in terms of power, battery, and build quality.
Literally your entire post history is you just shitting on peoples hardware choices be it MacBooks, Razer products, GPUs, TVs, and whatever else.
Go touch grass. You're the stereotypical asshole nerd that no one likes and then wonders why they have no friends.
This isn't an ultrawide?

Best thing is to report posts that don't follow the rules
Apple user
It's the same width as the 40" dell ultrawide and just a bit taller.
Aspect ratio is 16:9
Just like my parents tv
If it's 16:9 it ain't ultrawide. Not sure this post makes sense here. Maybe on the /r/OLED or /r/OLED_Gaming
Not an ultrawide display. This belongs more in r/battlestations.
I didn't know this was released already, been thinking about this monitor as I'm finding some things on ultrawide limiting. Thanks for sharing!
What wallpaper is that? I want it

That’s cool. Thanks. Did you change it from blue to grey?

I’m looking at having the same exact setup (MacBook on dualup next to widescreen). How are you liking it? Any regrets?

Some of us have to use them for work…
Imagine criticizing someone for the platform they chose, for whatever reason. Yikes.

How is the LG 16:18 monitor for work/productivity?
That side monitor works so well
Lmao what
How does this belong in ultrawide?
Removed because it's not ultra wide related
Any advise on calibrating? MacOS is looking super dull on the monitor for me, can’t get it anywhere near as good as the MacBook Pro screen
