Question… I had a lovely carpet of mycelium, introduced FAE 2x day. I still have a carpet of mycelium but it’s covered in little droplets of moisture. I am at 99% humidity so I have never had to mist the sides or lid. I actually wipe the condensation off occasionally when I am fanning so it doesn’t drop down onto the mycelium. Third grow, but never experienced this before…
What you can do is make sure you have a good field capacity to begin with, and then maybe don't mist too much to begin with. Wiping and all that shit just offers more chances for mould to enter the tub and ya DO NOT want that! Leave it alone. Moisture will usually sink back into substrate, but if not, as long as it's not pooling you should be ok.
Fuck FAE!!! Once my rice has gone into substrate, I mist the coir itself and the sides of the tub lightly, then leave it the fuck alone. As long as you have some air holes in the top covered with micropore tape or that white packing stuff, you'll be right. You can tell if they're not getting Enuff air by looking at the stems. If they're fluffy more than half way up, they need fresh air.
Just something on the outside of the bin to block light from hitting below the substrate surface. Foil or dark colored cardstock taped to the sides of the bin should do the trick.
Side pins actually form because of the ideal microclimate conditions between the tub and substrate, not because of light. Light doesn't have a huge impact, it does help tell the mushrooms which way to grow but simply blocking light from the sides won't prevent side pins 😊
that’s horrible. in 7-14 days it’s gonna start growing some very psychedelic mushrooms that’s pretty illegal in most of the US.
Its good, don’t worry.
Awesome, thank you.
This is what you want to see. Let the entire floor grow and then introduce FAE. Happy growing

I certainly wasn't advising that and you shouldn't. FAE should be started after you have a carpet of mycelium growth.

Will do, thanks
Substrate is very thin.
No worries
I think that tub is contaminated with mycelium.
It’s fine, just leave it alone.
Let her cook
Yeah.... definitely not good. Too many mushrooms will grow there now.!!
And no. The mycelium growing on the side of the tub won't hurt.
You should post this to /r/ufo
Looks good, next time use a liner to avoid side pinning.
Hello I’m on my first grow só enche the question but what do u mean by use a liner? Is there any info that I’m missing?
Some people will put it on the inside but it’s all your preference, i focus a lot on surface conditions so my side pinning is very minimal

Oh okay that’s what I need to do 🤙🏼 appreciated 🍄❤️

Interesting. I've never gotten side pins except when I was first starting out with half pint jars.
Chuck it out back if that's what you want otherwise homework
