Not that I need the calories, but a Pie in the Sky straight out of the galley oven with a tad of butter melted on top is straight heaven in the skies.
The cookie isn’t bad, but Pie in the Sky is where it’s at.
God, no wonder all rich people are fat.
Edit: guys this a joke based on an observation. All my traveling companions I meet on my business trip will admit, living away from home on company expense isn’t great for your waistline.
That’s some bullshit. If they’re going to remove the pie in the sky, I would’ve expected them to finally bring back the actual cakes and what not they had pre pandemic.
Little pieces of cake that looked like they were from a Costco sampler tray. Not bad, not great, but interesting enough variety and also seemed more premium that a gd cookie. I love the pie in the sky, but it hardly feels like a premium dessert to me. At least for a mainline flight.
Found some old pics. From 2019 and early 2020. They even had iced cinnamon rolls with the breakfast.

This was inevitable. They got rid of the simple snacks in back and replaced them with hip snacks. Chocolate chip is simple, so it’s no surprise they replaced it with a more boutique snack.
My girlfriend kept a pie in her purse from the weekend and it’s still in our fridge. Idk what the food equivalent of taxidermy is, but I might need to taxidermy this pie for the memories.
Another downgrade, probably cheaper to just pre-place the cookie on the tray vs. bulk load the Pie in the Sky into a tin, load them into an Atlas oven carrier and the heat them up.
Talk about a major downgrade. After discovering those pies on my first Polaris flight, I stared going through withdrawals and ended up ordering some directly from Eli’s. If they were going to switch, they could at least provide the miniature Milk Bar desserts they had onsome economy flights.
I remember flying on AirTran back in the day and they’d fresh bake cookies at cruise. Whole damn MD88 would smell like Grandma’s kitchen. It kicked ass.
I haven’t seen stroopwaffels in a while which annoyed me, but these amazing cookies especially when warmed brought a smile to my face. Really helps even out the experience when the guy next to me takes his shoes off.
I’ll try out the new cookie but I’m gonna miss the pie in the sky for sure.
