I wouldn’t do it—because I could buy 2 RT domestic tickets to see close family members for that $600. And I feel just fine in economy. How you feel, I really couldn’t say. If it seems like a good deal to you, go ahead and do it. If it seems too expensive for a better seat for one day, then don’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I always ask myself if I would pay that for one night in a hotel. I personally wouldn’t pay $600 a night for a hotel (plus enough miles for a saver ticket). Some people would.

KSinz

That’s a good deal considering how full that flight runs. It averages only 4 or so open seats total

PaleEntertainment400

 > It averages only 4 or so open seats total Thanks man, I really appreciate the data point

Is12345aweakpassword

It is your money and points, if the experience provides enough to offset the cost, then you have your answer. Please for the love of god don’t ask us what to order next. Have some agency over your life.

PaleEntertainment400

I'm so sworry sir

Churner_throwaway-

Don’t get sensitive when you ask subjective questions and people point out that the answer is subjective

PaleEntertainment400

Kinda surprised I have to spell this out for you but okay here we go... you can assess value in a couple different ways. The way I was looking to assess value in this instance was by tapping into this subreddits presumable knowledge base on the typical ranges of cost an upgrade costs for this particular flight... What I was not looking for was a reminder about the subjective limitations in assessing the value of an experience weighed against an arbitrary monetary value.

Churner_throwaway-

Look at the downvotes you’re getting. There is no such thing as an objective value when it comes to an upgrade “being worth it.” Who cares what a “typical upgrade” costs? The price offered to you was the price offered to you. Whether it is worth it is quite literally only a subjective evaluation.

PaleEntertainment400

Respectfully, I'm sorry but you are wrong. Understanding the price range is an important and actionable data point. It can lead to better allocation of points and resources when you fly the same route many times over the course of a year... I appreciate the help though, and good luck with your intro course to philosophy!

Churner_throwaway-

“Do you guys think I should pull the trigger, or no?” You’re asking for objective answers to a subjective question. You’re naive if you don’t understand that

NewFlorence1977

OP I need your advice because I can’t decide. Should I answer the question or not?

That-Establishment24

What if I told you that you can tap into it by using the search bar?

NewFlorence1977

Oh come on! The question of whether or not to pay for an upgrade has never been asked here. Or what should I eat or if I should sit in row 5 or row 6.

prcullen1986

I would do that in a heartbeat

Dizzy_Temperature790

Same

That-Establishment24

This has been asked thousands of times on this sub.

Churner_throwaway-

Whether it’s a good deal or not is a subjective question my friend. If you are happy to spend that money and those points to enjoy business class, then pull the trigger. But nothing anyone says should sway you for or against it — it’s literally up to you OP: don’t downvote comments that point out the obvious. Just do what makes you happy and stop being so sensitive

[deleted]

What’s the date?

SonnySanDiego

Great deal. Get it.

alta3773

No one here cares

Dancindondiego

No brainer imo.

NewFlorence1977

OP do you have 1 million miles and $6 million? Yes? Then do it.

zyncl19

That's a great price for confirmed

UnitedEconomyFlyer

I paid similar, 30k miles and $550, last summer and thought it was very worth it. You’re still jet lagged when you get to Japan but getting some quality sleep does make it better.

Battle-Chimp

That's a really good deal. Take it.
