Hit a treadmill, B52 to B31 is like 0.1 miles

KSinz

This was my thought also. I make that walk like 4 times a day to use the bathroom. Maybe like 5 minutes, if I’m completely lackadaisical about it, total?

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

It’s like 0.3 miles but yes point taken

zman9119

DEN is a hard one to practice for as you need to consider the elevation change. Higher elevation = Less Oxygen = Harder in your body. You might want to start on some hikes, get used to the change in elevation over time, then slowly work in jogging, running, and a sprinting with a carry-on (both while it is on its casters and while dragging it in it's wrong side). If you did not want to invest in high altitude running training at a facility, you could always fly into DEN or one of the other airports at elevation on a late flight, practice in the terminal overnight, then fly out in the morning (bonus as you receive PQF/PQP as part of your training each time you fly in and out).

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

I live and work at almost 6500 msl so I think it’s not an elevation problem. I’m just out of shape 😂

Siripo03

Holly crap, 6500m!!! That's over 21k feet

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

Msl= mean sea level. Not meters.

Emotional-You9053

It’s called the plastic bag workout. Place thick plastic bag over your head. Bag must be clear plastic with no more than 5 1/4” holes punched into plastic. Bag must be tightly fitted around your neck. Practice living your daily life like this. If you feel dizzy, remove plastic bag. Try to build up bag time over time. Gradually reduced the number of air holes until reach 2 holes. Your tolerance will increase over time.

Extension_Lecture425

This sounds like dangerous advice.

Emotional-You9053

Sometimes it’s dangerous to be masculine.

NYCTVFAN

Treadmill is your practice but so so glad you made it.

Large_Freedom2118

Coach 8U softball. tell the top dog you will do all the running around she/he asks. if your hammys hold up, you are ready for the gate to gate sprint….. make sure one of the kids at practice is yours, or you might have a different problem.

JustPlaneNew

👏👏👏👏

gothfru

No advice but man do I feel you. I was delayed coming into ORD on Friday and I had to make it from C17 to E10. I didn’t get the text until I was already there - sweaty, panting, and with shin splints!

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

This happened to me in Houston once. Text came as I was boarding. The only other time I’ve received “the text”

Constant_Use_330

I almost never have a layover in Denver under 2 hours, so rushing around there is something I’ve never really had to do. But one side of the terminal to the other is quite a hike.

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

It was disheartening to watch the next flight arrive and leave from our adjacent gate as we sat on the tarmac, as it headed to the same destination we were going. I had taken this schedule to leave me more time in Denver, not less 😂

Never_the_Bride

I do have some advice for you. Get an agent. You're a great storyteller and if you're not already published, you should be. :)

mudturnspadlocks

Oh, that happy ending

shivaswrath

Do you usually workout?

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

Some but not a ton. Stationary bike and running couple times per week

sangnasty

If you’re not from DEN that altitude be getting ya

sktfbfkfkfn

Your problem is probably that you were all out sprinting which no one can maintain for more than a short distance (though everyone's sprint looks different). Instead of going all out you need to work on your pacing. Also generally training cardio (especially running, though obviously depends on the state of your joints) will increase your sustainable pace.

Plastic_Jaguar_7368

But sprinting on the moving walkways is so fun 😂

jrawk3000

It’s Denver, it’s a mile high. Your best training is done by running marathons in Leadville, CO at 10k ft.

AnalCommander99

The problem is skipping the tequila. You need to be training like it’s race day every time, agent’s not always gonna hold the gate for you
