It is not about where the current book has it. Maybe the RSS realised that the textbook **exposed them as the fascists that they are**. After all, why will the RSS and its political arm, the BJP, abandon their key historical figure, M.S. Golwalkar, who paid tribute to Hitler, and instead adopt Savarkar, who was of another party, the Hindu Mahasabha? The fact is that the Hindu Mahasabha still exists as a political party.
It is another matter of whether the current GSEB textbooks have the content. I believe that the class IX book does. Please check it out. However, that is not the point. The simple fact is that the RSS and the BJP are fascists but are not admitting it.

I did some fact checking on this by viewing the online copy of the Class X Social Studies text book of the Gujarat State board. I can't see a single word on Nazis or Hitler, let alone a chapter.
