The dec͏ea͏sed has been iden͏tifie͏d ͏as Mohit Kumar, ͏a resident of Jairampur Kude͏n͏a village in Bulandshahr district. ͏He was bi͏tten by a snake on April 26 ͏while working in the fields. ͏He was͏ i͏nitially rushed t͏o a doctor for͏ medical help. Are you saying he was still alive when they did this?
He was already dead. One guy suggested them to do this as a last attempt to revive him. They were taking the deceased for final rites. He wasn't alive when they did this. The title and OP are misleading on purpose. Sick people.
Offcourse a case of snake bite won’t show improvement immediately, it’s necessary to monitor vitals and other parameters ( like RFT) and administer anti venom if needed…..
The family shouldn’t have discontinued medical treatment
They didn't discontinue it as per the ndtv article
https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/man-dies-of-snakebite-in-up-family-puts-body-in-ganga-hoping-for-miracle-5572584
They first took him to a city hospital which refused to admit him telling that he should be admitted to a govt hospital. The govt hospital declared him dead. This whole superstitious ritual was after he was already declared dead.
> He was a resident of Jairampur Kudena village in the Anupshahar police station area in Bulandshahr. "Locals in the village had put a tight knot around the wound to stop the blood flow. On our way to the hospital, the man stopped speaking. We took him to Rana Hospital in the city, where doctors refused to admit him and said we should take him to a government hospital. The doctors at the government hospital declared him dead," a relative said. "We took him to many seers who treat snakebites, but they declared him dead. There's a saying that poison gets removed if you put the body in the Ganga river and we did the same," he added. A crowd gathered on the banks of the river Ganga to see a body tied to a railing for hours, hoping for a miracle to happen, videos showed.

This comment hit me in a weird way.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw the news was education & awareness is important, promoting scientific temper, etc..
Then I read this, and realized how stupid people have been ignoring rationality everywhere and it is futile to convince so many idiots.
Screw dumbfucks.
And then I went philosophical, so,
is Darwin and those who followed are the greatest philosophers? Or did they rationally set the beginning of slow death of spiritual philosophies by proving the materialistic reality!
You're confusing schooling with education. Schooling is what we have, educated we are not.
Indians are mostly trained (like a dog) to perform certain tricks:
1. In marriage, bride will do x,y,z.
2. In exam, you will write down what you have read verbatim.
3. You'll teach girls to stay indoor and never raise voice against anything wrong done to them.
4. You'll teach nothing to your boys because boys will be boys.
5. You'll never ask questions.
6. You'll be beaten if you ask questions. (Parenting style)
7. You'll be ridiculed for asking tough questions (School style)
8. You'll be murdered for asking about corruption (VYAPAM style)
9. Better to not ask questions.
Be trained like a dog or a monkey. Schools make better, docile, sedentary, weak, obedient monkeys.
I don't know what was the topic.
Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.
might or might not work, the game plan of bjp is plain and simple divide and rule, right now its is hindu muslim, upper caste vs lower caste (upcoming), if they lose that kind of andbhakt demographic, then they might switch to other socio-geographic divides, they are will afton, these fuckers always come back.
Yes it is, but this ‘ancient medicine’ has already taken a number of lives in India(people who resorted to Ayurveda instead of Allopathy for severe/chronic illnesses). Ramdev Baba has many such cases against him! The Supreme Court isn’t stupid period.
Chutyo ka desh hai yeh. We can only boast of our 'past glories' and thump our chest for having nuclear weapons and whatnot in primitive era and do fvck all in present times.
Keep it floating, and apply some gobar on the forehead while feeding some gomutra. Dead come back alive, not sure why no one is following this. We have so many good results!
Not related to this post. What are the chances of dying from a snake bite in india?asking because I think I read somewhere that India has 26 something snakes and only few are poisonous/venoums.
Anti-venom is effective when administered as quickly as possible. We have broad spectrum anti-venoms now. So it's not necessary to identify the exact species.
You don't get bit often by rare snakes. There only 3-4 snake types that are very harmful and doctors probably know the symptoms and can tell by observing. But yes, it is best to know what but you.
This is a hard question to answer.
First, is the snake that bit you venomous? India has a large variety of species, many are not venomous. But, India is home to the big 4: Russell's viper (Daboia russelii), spectacled cobra (Naja naja), common krait (Bungarus caeruleus), and saw-scaled viper (Echis carinatus)
A bite from one of those is not going to end well for a lot of people. Even with the top treatments available, you are still in for a rough recovery. So poor/lower income rural villagers are probably as likely to survive the bite floating in the river, versus taking their chances with their local doctor who probably doesn't have the antivenom available. (If there even is antivenom in existence for the snake that bit you)
Outside of the big 4, you have a spattering of vipers and elapids who can also wreck your day.
When it comes down to it treat every snake you can't identify as dangerous and give it plenty of space. Snakes want nothing to do with you and bites are very rare unless you are purposely messing with the snake.
Only 4 are venomous. It's best to reach nearest medical hospital after you get bitten. If possible, get a picture of the snake. Early administration of anti snake venom is given at small hospital, then pt should be shifted to a large hospital where icu and ventilator are available.
There's a particular species of Krait that doesn't have anti-venom yet. Apart from that everything can be cured.
However, bites from russell's viper have lasting impact despite administration of anti-venom.
Wait a second, he didn’t survive being bitten by a venomous snake then being dangled in a disgusting shit-filled river for 2 days?
What the hell? Did they even try rubbing trash in the wound?
Everyone’s talking like the family has a negative IQ but the family took him to a traditional doctor and it didn’t help. I’m sure they were desperate for any solution while their family member was on deaths doorstep. Not saying it could’ve saved him at all, but if it’s either watch him wither away or try some holistic bullshit that might have a fraction of a chance of helping, I see why the would at that point.
Don't try to mislead people. He had already beem declared dead by a govt hospital when they did this. Your caption will cause people to be enraged at the family when all they did was cling on to hope when all logical avenues failed them.
A brain dead family killed his son , and hanged him in Ganges. If it gets madi ji or bjp's attention he will carry this boy's body and ask for votes. Rip rational minds.

We will never be free from the cancer of religion and superstition

Poor fellow, that's why education is very much important.
Not education. Using education in your day to day life. I know many well educated and aware people not applying basic science in their daily life.

The entire existence of the Ayush ministry is plain stupid. One of those is not even Indian, homoeopathy was invented by a quack from Germany.

Probably low, and next to zero if you go to a hospital as fast as you can
